16 brigade of special purpose. Kiev Hardball Team "1337"

This investigation began with a post found on the Vkontakte social network about the death of a certain Anton, who died "fighting for the fatherland." (original| saved copy):

We started looking for information about this Anton and found in Anna's friends (the author of the aforementioned post) this is the profile of Anton with a fake name and surname, but real photos: profile(saved copy). The last photo from October 25, 2014 on the wall: Anton stands in front of the Il-76 of the 224th flight unit (a subsidiary of the Ministry of Defense), in the photo there is a geotag "Rostov-on-Don Tsentralny airfield" ( original photo| saved copy):

link to original photo): Anton Savelyev.

Also in the profile there is a photo (link to the original) of Anton in front of an obelisk with an indication of his military unit: military unit 54607 (16th separate brigade special purpose Of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Tambov)

We continue to search for information about the circumstances of Anton's death. We find the profile of his friend, who studied at the same school as him. In her profile we find a photo together with Anton, uploaded on May 10, and the signature “Anton Savelyev is 20 years old. Killed while on military duty. A graduate of our school "( original):

The eye again clings to " on duty". We continue to look for information, we find the next message "we remember, we love, we grieve", but it is not only Anton's photograph that appears in it ( original| saved copy):

The details become more and more interesting, it becomes obvious that they died together. We begin to look for the names of two other servicemen who died with Anton. We look at the profiles of Anton's friends and find such a message, from which we learn the callsigns of all three ( original message| backup copy): Sava, Cardan and Mamai.

At the same time, there are a lot of all sorts of (photos, statuses) references to the special forces in the person's profile, the person clearly shows that he is “one of his own”. We begin to look for the other two by their callsigns, we find Mamai and immediately successfully: against the background of two armored personnel carriers of the separatists ( original message| original photo | saved copy).

The "toothy" armored personnel carrier on the right has already been repeatedly filmed on the territory of Luhansk, including in the video dated February 15, 2015 (saved copy), where it is riding with the flag of the LPR against the background of the humanitarian convoy of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation. Photo of the same armored personnel carrier in Lugansk, the LPR inscription is visible:

Judging by the beige building, as well as by the metal fence, Timur's photo was taken here.

Among those who repost the same message, we find another account, where it hints that Mamai, and his full name Timur Mamayusupov, was a special forces soldier ( original message| saved copy):

At the same time, in the profile of this person, you can find a post dated May 9, 2015, with video 16 OBRSPN GRU, while the person emphasizes that he is from this unit ( original message| saved copy):

In order not to get confused, let's summarize what we have at the moment: Anton Savelyev, a serviceman of the 16th GRU special forces brigade, died in early May (first message from relatives on May 6), “defending the fatherland”, “on duty”. A number of profiles of servicemen of the same special forces brigade of the GRU are posting on social networks that two more people died together with Anton, one is called Timur Mamayusupov, callsign "Mamai", and the third callsign "Cardan".

By the way, in the "parade video" of the 16th GRU special forces brigade, you can see another important point: A GRU spetsnaz does not have to look like a pumped-up bodybuilder, and all three dead, in their physique, look exactly the same as the guys in the video.

Move on. Further we find on the website of another project, which is also engaged in investigations of the war, information about Timur "Mamai" Mamayusupov, it turns out they found information about him before us and published it long ago. The cargo200.org project managed to capture several key points about Timur from the messages of his relatives: Timur was a military man, he was a GRU spetsnaz and he died in the war:

Immediately after that, Albina has on the wall whole line memorable posts about Timur, in which both the context of the GRU special forces and the context of the war are mentioned:

On the Odnoklassniki social network, we find a serviceman of the same 16th brigade of the GRU special forces, who posts joint photos of Sava, Mamai and Cardan in his profile, which directly indicates that all three were good friends, served in one unit, from where this soldier himself.

Checking in a row all the profiles of friends of each of the victims, as well as friends of friends, set the name of "Cardan" - Ivan (saved copy of the profile | original photo of Cardan on the girl's avatar).

In the process of viewing the accounts of friends of the deceased special forces, we establish a number of profiles that have joint photos with "Cardan", and at the same time how best friend the same person is listed: profile of "Alexey Butyugin"(in the profile there is not a single photo with appearance). We also find additional. confirmation that Cardana's name is Ivan ( original post| saved copy):

Also in the profile of a friend of "Kardan" we find a joint photo of Timur "Mamai" and Ivan "Kardan" with the geotagged "Matveyevo-Kurgan region" (direct border with Ukraine, original post| saved copy | original photo):

We feel that there is already “something”, but while everything is around and around, more evidence is needed. Since the city of Tambov was indicated in the profiles of Anton and Timur, and their military unit was also located in Tambov, it was decided that both of them were buried there. We quickly collect our things, get on the bus, and go to Tambov in the afternoon. Upon arrival, we are faced with a difficult task: at which cemetery in Tambov Anton and Timur are buried, we do not know, but in Tambov alone there are three cemeteries, plus there are also cemeteries in regional settlements. We talk with local taxi drivers, explain the problem to them without any particular details, they propose to go to the main city cemetery and there ask the caretaker where such and such are buried, because the caretakers possess such information.

Meanwhile, people from our team continue to look for information on social networks, in local forums about where exactly Anton and Timur were buried. They find the account profile in the ask.me service of a girl who studied with Anton in the same school, and when we were already on our way to one of the city cemeteries in Tambov, our team managed to get the answer where Anton is buried (saved copy of the questions and answers):

Talinka is a village in the Tambov region. I immediately recall that Anton's profile in Odnoklassniki indicated that he graduated from the Novolyadinskaya school (the village of Novaya Lyada - adjacent to Talinka). Again we consult with the taxi driver, he says that he knows where the cemetery is, we rush there. Arriving, we begin to look for Anton's grave and find it almost immediately:

Clicking to open an album with originals of photos in high resolution. Also in the album there are photographs of wreaths with ribbons, on which the names of relatives are indicated - we found profiles in social networks some of these relatives, and they have information about grief in their profile, etc. (screenshots later in the post).

There is also a wreath "To the Defender of the Fatherland from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation":

It was 7 in the morning, that's when we recorded later posted video, where they said that “we haven’t contacted our relatives yet” (at that time we really hadn’t talked to them yet).

After that, we went to the cemetery caretakers, asked about Anton - they told us that yes, a military man, yes, they buried the other day, they did not know how he died, the second soldier was not buried these days (we asked about Timur). When asked how to contact Anton's relatives, they answered, suggested where Anton's mother lives, how to find her house.

Meanwhile, the volunteers of our team found information in the comments of the relatives of the victims that they died because they "came under fire":

To the question "where?" answer “I don’t know for sure, I heard that at the border”:

But if you try to find media reports about some shelling of the border in those days, and even more so about the death of three people as a result of these shelling, then you will fail. And this is strange, because if people died as a result of shelling of the state border, and even more so if they were military personnel, then a huge trump card in the hands of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, this would be a powerful argument in favor of arguments about the violation of peace agreements. If these are not servicemen at all, but volunteer militias, then why suddenly a "military secret"? Russia does not deny the presence of volunteer militias from Russia. Why suddenly such honors in the form of a funeral with the support of the local military unit, in the form of a wreath from the Ministry of Defense?

Other close ones to the questions "how Anton died" answer "this is a military secret":

The time is approaching 8 am, we are planning how to continue looking for Timur's grave and how to talk with Anton's relatives. The taxi driver says that "she (Anton's mother) probably works in Tambov and at this time she should just leave the house to go to Tambov." We decide to go to her and try to talk to her. Freeze frame from our video footage:

Having arrived at the house of Anton's mother, we find that it seems to be the same house that we saw in the photographs of Anton and his sister and tried to determine through the locals where it was filmed:

Anton's mom was not at home. We talked to the neighbors, got the mobile phone number of Anton's mom. Vadim Korovin called her, introduced himself as an assistant to a State Duma deputy, said that he wanted to help her in relations with the Ministry of Defense, because she would need to demand compensation from the Ministry of Defense. Natalya (Anton's mother) replied that she was now in the military unit, she could not talk, and offered to call back later.

We are going to the military unit, where all three of the victims served. Near the military unit we stop next to the car, near which stood a GRU special forces officer in military uniform, a sergeant. The taxi driver says that this is his acquaintance (since the city is small, and the taxi driver has been driving for many years, he already knows many), now he will approach him and ask about the second victim. When asked about two recently killed special forces, the sergeant replied that no, they were burying only one of their own the other day, in Novaya Lyada (the sergeant himself quite correctly named the name of the village, we did not prompt). After that, a senior special forces soldier, a senior lieutenant, got out of a nearby car and walked towards us, looking at us very disapprovingly. “To avoid anything there,” we immediately returned to the car and drove away.

We decide to try to determine from the available photographs of Timur from which edges he is. We cling to the photo with the cars in Timur's profile, more precisely, at the moment that both cars with the 36th region on the license plates ( link to photo in profile):

36th region on car numbers- this is the Voronezh region. Voronezh is relatively close to Tambov, we decide to go there, because in Tambov, more or less everything was fixed (we talked with my mother beforehand, said to call back later; we briefly talked with the local special forces, they confirmed that this was their fighter; Anton's other relatives did not answer the phone) ... We are going to the station, we are already going to buy a bus ticket, but then information comes from our team: our volunteers find information on the death of Timur in Vkontakte, with the geographical context “Almetyevsk”, and with a direct indication that he died in Donbass ( post in one community| saved copy, post in another community| saved copy):

It becomes clear why in Tambov they do not know anything about his funeral (apparently, the relatives immediately took the body from the Rostov military medical officer and buried it at home). We set a new task for the team: to find the contacts of Timur's relatives, friends, to whom you can write or call to determine the exact burial place.

We find several numbers, call them, say that we are close to the Savelyev family, that we know that Anton and Timur died together, we want to remember Timur, but we don’t know where he is buried, they don’t tell the military unit either. Some say that they do not know where he is buried, but after a number of calls, luck smiles upon us again: the guy who knew Timur says that yes, he knows where he is buried, he is buried in the village, but now he does not remember its correct name, in the evening will clarify, it will be possible to call back. In the meantime, we are looking at where Timur's friends come from, trying in this way to determine the homeland of Timur himself: Izhevsk, Kazan, Aznakaevo, Mamadysh. After a while, we call Timur's friend again and he tells us the correct name of the village where Timur is buried: the village of Kuk-Tyaka, Aznakayevsky district, the Republic of Tatarstan.

This is far enough to travel, so we decide to do it easier, set the next task for the team: find some young (16-20 years old) boy on social networks, get in touch with him, under a fictional legend (“we are close to his deceased colleague ») Gain confidence and ask for help, say what is urgent and even offer money for help. Why "the boy is 16-20 years old"? Because it’s easiest to persuade such people to take part in such a small “coven”. A few minutes of searching, a few minutes of conversations, and now we have in our hands photographs of Timur's grave, which is 950 km away. from Tambov (a lot of time and money saved on travel):

It was already on the basis of this photo that we established that Timur's surname “according to his passport” was not Yusupov (as indicated in social networks), but Mamayusupov. It also becomes clear where the call sign "Mamai" comes from. Timur's date of death on the plaque is the same as that of Anton: May 5, 2015 (let me remind you that there are just a bunch of messages that Timur died in Donbass; there are no direct words about Anton about the war, but there are a lot of messages like “he died after hitting under shelling at the border "and" this is a military secret "). Also, the eye clings to two more points: exactly the same wreath "To the Defender of the Fatherland from the Ministry of Defense" as on the grave of Anton, plus a wreath with a ribbon on which the inscription "From the command of the unit":

In order not to get lost in the abundance of information again, let's summarize again: everyone directly writes about Timur that he died in the Donbass, in the war; Timur apparently served in the 16th brigade of the GRU special forces - those who grieve about him constantly mention the context of the GRU special forces, other servicemen of this brigade know him, call him by his callsign, publish his joint photographs with "Savoy" and "Cardan"; there are photographs of Timur in Lugansk, near the militia armored personnel carriers, with weapons in his hands, there are

Original taken from onepamop in About the anniversary of the special forces. Part one

On December 28 of last year, I arrived at the location of the 16th separate special forces brigade for several hours. The check-in was timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the brigade and the New Year holidays too. During the time allotted for the visit, I managed to talk with privates, sergeants, warrant officers and officers serving in the brigade, visit the training ground and watch the demonstration performances of the special forces.

As New Year's gifts, I handed over to the brigade commander several sets of gloves, knee pads, elbow pads and glasses from combatshop.ru for subsequent delivery to the fighters. In the summer, there is a chance to repeat the race with the aim of video recording of the combat work of the special forces in the field camp. Tentative deadline: July 2013.

Excerpts from the historical background
16th brigade (military unit 54607, Tambov)

A separate special-purpose brigade of the Moscow military district began to be formed on the basis of the directive of the General Staff No. M / 269721 of July 19, 1962. To form a brigade in the Ryazan Region, the headquarters of the Moscow Military District sent a number of officers to the Chuchkovo settlement. Colonel A.V. Shipka was appointed the first brigade commander. On January 1, 1963, the command of the unit reported that the brigade had been formed and began combat planned training at the point of permanent deployment of the settlement of N of the item. Chuchkovo, Ryazan region. By order of the Minister of Defense of the USSR of January 29, 1963, in commemoration of the formation day, the brigade's annual holiday was established - January 1. On April 29, 1969, the brigade was awarded the Combat Banner of the unit, a symbol of military honor, valor and glory.

In August - September 1972, the personnel carry out a government task to eliminate fires in the Central Black Earth zone, in the Moscow, Ryazan, Vladimir and Gorky regions. For valiant and decisive actions in extinguishing fires, 158 servicemen of the unit were awarded the medal "For courage in the fire", more than two hundred people received letters of thanks.

Not a single armed conflict in which she took part Soviet army and the Armed Forces of Russia, did not do and does not do without the participation of special-purpose units and units. The personnel of the brigade took part in hostilities for the first time in 1984 in Afghanistan and, with short interruptions, took part in all local wars at the end of the 20th century. In December 1984, on the basis of the brigade, the 370th separate special-purpose detachment was formed to carry out international tasks in Afghanistan. The detachment was commanded by Major Krot I.M. In March 1985, the detachment crossed the border of the USSR and the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan. The detachment was stationed on the outskirts settlement Lashkar Gah.

The main objects against which the special forces were used were caravans with weapons and ammunition, warehouses, and transshipment bases of the mujahideen. In 1986, Soviet intelligence officers received an order: to obtain a sample of the latest American portable anti-aircraft missile system (MANPADS) "Stinger". Dushmans began to actively use this effective weapon against helicopters and aircraft. Our aviation suffered serious losses. The telegram of the USSR Minister of Defense said that the one who captured the first Stinger was to receive a high award - the Gold Star of the Hero of the Soviet Union. This task was entrusted to the special forces, for which, as you know, there are no impossible tasks.

On January 5, 1987, a group under the command of Major Sergeev E.G., who later served in the 16th brigade, flew out to reconnoitre the terrain of upcoming ambush operations. Having entered the Meltanay gorge at an extremely low altitude, she encountered a group of mujahideen who began to flee into the greenhouse. Sergeev opened fire, and the helicopter commander launched the missiles and went to land. On the ground were found strange pipes and a diplomat, which, as it turned out later, contained instructions for using the Stinger. The American MANPADS, which were hunted by various departments, were the first to be taken by Soviet special forces and personally by Major Sergeev with his subordinates. Only 25 years later after the accomplished feat, on May 6, 2012, to Sergeev E.G. was awarded the title of Hero of Russia. Lieutenant Colonel Sergeev E.G. died in 2008.

As a result of hostilities in Afghanistan, the personnel of the 370th detachment captured and destroyed: up to 2 thousand rebels, one hundred twenty cars, more than five hundred small arms, two hundred fifty mortars, more than a million pieces of ammunition and many other weapons. The heroic deeds of the special forces soldiers, who honorably fulfilled the sacred duty of providing international assistance to the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan, are inscribed in golden letters in the military chronicle of Russia. For courage and heroism, two hundred and twenty-four internationalist soldiers were awarded military orders and medals.

At the end of September 1992, two detachments under the command of Lieutenant Colonel G.A. Chekunov were formed on the basis of the brigade to carry out combat missions in Tajikistan. and Lieutenant Colonel Breslavsky S.V. In Tajikistan, the personnel of the detachments performed tasks to protect important military and government facilities. For the first time, it was necessary to conduct diplomatic negotiations with warring factions. Many officers, warrant officers, soldiers and sergeants were awarded military awards for the successful completion of a government assignment in Tajikistan.

In the summer of 1993, the brigade's special-purpose group took first place in the competition in tactical and special training for the championship of the Armed Forces. At the beginning of October 1993, a consolidated detachment, allocated from the brigade, performed tasks to strengthen the protection and defense of the Main Intelligence Directorate General Staff in Moscow. In 1994 and 1996, the group of the brigade at the competitions in tactical and special training for the championship of the Armed Forces again takes first place, and the Cup of the winner of the competition remains for eternal storage in the brigade, which took first place three times in a row.

In the First Chechen War of 1994-1996, Russian special forces also took an active part. At the beginning of 1995, a team was reconciled and a separate detachment was sent to the North Caucasus region, which took part in the elimination of illegal armed groups on the territory of Chechnya. The detachment was commanded by the well-known Major Sergeev E.G. At the initial stage of hostilities, special-purpose units were used as military reconnaissance units.

Serious miscalculations made by the political and military leadership of the country led to unjustified losses. So, 1995 can be considered the most tragic year in the history of special forces. The morning of January 24, 1995, claimed the lives of two scouts of the brigade, who were carrying out combat missions. And in the evening of the same day, at 20 hours 45 minutes in a school, on the outskirts of Grozny, where the detachment was located, an explosion thundered, and overnight 45 people were killed. Annually on January 24, the brigade celebrates the Day of Remembrance, dedicated to those killed in the line of military duty.

In September 1999, the second Chechen campaign began. After the invasion of militants into Dagestan, special forces, together with federal troops, entered Chechnya. According to the estimates of those who took part in the hostilities in Chechnya, no one fought there more valiantly than the special forces. Since August 15, 1999, a separate detachment of our brigade has been directly involved in the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus region. With the outbreak of hostilities, the groups provided the troops with intelligence, opening the defensive structures and positions of the militants. Subsequently, the scouts switched to the tactics of search and ambush actions and raids on the found bases of the militants. This was especially typical for the foothills and mountainous regions. The tasks of the groups also included the destruction of field commanders.

Over the period of the two Chechen campaigns, more than one thousand seven hundred servicemen of the brigade were awarded state awards. For their personal courage and heroism, four officers were awarded the high rank of Hero of Russia: Major Alexei Ivanovich Tuchin (posthumously); Senior Lieutenant Alexey Vasilievich Rodin (posthumously); Lieutenant Dmitry Viktorovich Elistratov and Senior Lieutenant Andrey Vasilyevich Samankov.

A total of one hundred forty-nine servicemen perished in the brigade while on military duty: in Afghanistan - 47 people; in the first Chechen war - 50 people; in the second Chechen war - 52 people. Not over yet fighting in the North Caucasus, and the brigade command was ordered to prepare personnel for peacekeeping tasks in the Balkans. From October 2001 to May 2002, the company, formed on the basis of the brigade, took part in the peacekeeping operation in Yugoslavia.

By Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No.990-C dated August 28, 2003, military unit 54607 was transferred from Chuchkovo to a new point of permanent deployment, the city of Tambov.

On July 8, 2007 in the brigade the Monument to the soldiers-scouts who died in the line of military duty was unveiled.

From August 2008 to September 2009, our servicemen took part in a peacekeeping mission on the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia. The results of combat work were the capture and destruction a large number weapons, ammunition, military equipment of the enemy, including boats of special operations forces, equipment. For the successful fulfillment of combat missions during the operation to force Georgia to peace, 436 servicemen of the brigade were awarded state awards of the Russian Federation.

On May 9, 2011, the personnel of the brigade were entrusted with the honorary right to take part in the Victory Parade on Red Square in Moscow. In 2012, the brigade's military equipment marched in parade formation on Palace Square in St. Petersburg.

Within two months of September-October 2012, the reinforced consolidated detachment of our brigade took part in the Strategic Command Post Exercise "KAVKAZ-2012". During the exercises, the personnel also performed combat missions on the territory of the Kabardino-Balkarian, Chechen Republic, in Ingushetia. The main form of combat use of the detachment was the participation of reconnaissance groups and reconnaissance detachments in counter-partisan actions, search and ambush operations were carried out. The level of training of personnel and the coherence of reconnaissance groups and special-purpose companies made it possible to perform all assigned tasks efficiently, without losses.

For the successful fulfillment of combat missions in counter-terrorist operations, 142 servicemen of the detachment were presented with state awards.

At the end of the 2012 academic year, the brigade took first place among the intelligence units and was recognized as the best intelligence unit of the Western Military District.

First of all, at the test site, we talked with a comrade lieutenant. Alexey. 24 years. Serves since 2006, graduated from the Novosibirsk Higher Military Command School. Married.

Behind his shoulders 25 parachute jumps from different heights, from planes and helicopters, among them there are protracted, from 3000 meters (63 seconds of free fall) and night. Usually in the brigade they jump 6-10 times a year, sometimes more often. The most difficult jumps are at night.

Seriously engaged in mountain training, represented the brigade at mountaineering competitions, won a prize. He took part in the Russian-Belarusian exercises, during which the special forces could act at their discretion, using any techniques, except for firing live ammunition: capture, interrogation. The skills demonstrated in Belarus are trained at least once a month on field trips: they spend a day or two “in the field” or in the forest. Of course, with shooting, laying and searching for hiding places, ambushes, raids and other sabotage activities.

Knows two foreign languages: English and Arabic, the second is studying on his own initiative.

I tuned my machine myself. First of all, I installed a non-standard DTK, which corrected the recoil, corrected its vector and reduced the outbreak of flame when firing. If necessary, instead of the DTK, you can install a tactical silencer, which reduces the sound level from 160 to 120 dB. Moreover, with such silencers, you can shoot with an ordinary, not special cartridge.

Pistols: PM, PB, APSB and PSS. Yarygin - no, there are too many delays and misfires. If it is possible to choose from domestic samples, I would prefer APSB or GSh-18.

Of the collimators, I liked the devices manufactured by Aimpoint and Eotech. Suitable, the only "but" - the battery quickly sits down in the cold. Tried domestic refineries PK-1 and refinery PK-3 "in business". They seemed inconvenient, although they have no problems with the battery in principle.

The soldiers lined up and listened to a combat training mission.

I looked at the nameplate of the developer of unloading vests - TSNIITOCHMASH.

The soldiers in the ranks had a lot of 7.62 caliber machine guns equipped with a silent and flameless firing device. The 7.62mm assault rifle with PBS is designed to solve special tasks at a limited distance. For shooting you need special US cartridge, the effectiveness of which drops sharply at a distance of 400+ meters, and the bullet flies for quite a long time.

Before going to the training points, everyone jumped and adjusted their equipment properly. Special attention was paid to camouflage coats: everything was pulled up, tied up and straightened.

The first group went towards the shooting range.

Everybody pulled special camouflage covers over the patrol backpacks.

Other groups were assigned their own tasks.

The current task of this group is to bring their machine gun to normal combat.

As for the frequency of shooting and shooting training in the brigade, Comrade Lieutenant assured that they shoot at the special forces at least once a week, they do not experience a shortage of cartridges, in general he described the situation as follows: soldiers shoot freely.

It would be interesting to understand how the holes formed in the board?

The officers in the "unloading", among other things, had such radios.

The machine gunners also took an active part in the training.

The machine gunners arrived with their 7.62mm PKP "Pecheneg".

The next interlocutor, Maxim, was very laconic. He comes from the Bryansk region. Serves in the brigade under the contract as a senior reconnaissance machine gunner. Before the special forces he served on the border in the north. I managed to be on a combat mission.

Everyone with whom he spoke about the PKP "Pecheneg" machine gun says a lot of good things. Among the shortcomings - the carrying handle is not very well welded, unbalanced. The machine gun is not very convenient for long-distance transitions, in particular because of this handle. But otherwise, it is a big step forward regarding PC and RMB. The resource of the barrel is excellent, the tide is already at the factory. I would also like to put a front tactical grip on it already at the factory, necessary thing useful.

The company commander, lieutenant, told something about the life and combat training of conscripts serving in special forces:

The conscripts do not experience a shortage of cartridges and firing. Cartridges are given out depending on the exercise, and exercise is not less than once a week. They load cartridges into the stores themselves, along the way they fulfill the loading standard.

Hand-to-hand combat among conscripts is constantly trained. In hand-to-hand combat, they are unlikely to go, but in personal life they can come in handy. At the same time, he trains how to handle the MPL as a weapon. Fighters are taught to defend, attack, escort with a paddle. And for their intended purpose, of course, they are used.

From footcloths, by order, they switched to socks, although many soldiers say that footcloths were more comfortable.

Conscripts shoot from grenade launchers. The RPG-7V has now been removed from the staff, and the RPG-18 has been introduced. There are corresponding exercises for grenade launchers: "shooting in ambush", "shooting in a raid" and others. Who is supposed to do it by the state - 2-3 shots per exercise. They shoot at educational stage and on the test.

The ratio of conscripts to contract is approximately the same, almost 50% each. There are already two detachments (battalions) in the brigade.

According to the state, the soldier is given different weapons. The minimum is automatic. The scouts have a second VAL assault rifle, a silent pistol, an HP or NRS knife, an SVD and VSS or SVD sniper and an Austrian sniper rifle.

The fitness standards for soldiers are pretty tough. General principle- it is necessary to gain a certain total number of points in several exercises and the required minimum points in each exercise. Those. you cannot pass the standard by running quickly, but not once without pulling up. As a standard, 4 standards are passed: strength (pull-up, lifting with a coup, kettlebell lifting, push-up), endurance (cross), speed (running) and military-applied skill (throwing a grenade, march).

Officers for knowledge of a foreign language are paid a percentage of the salary: European language - 10%, Eastern language - 20%. They pass the language annually. If you are a graduate of a specialized military school and confidently pass the language five times in a row (once every two years), you will receive the bonus automatically, without the need for exams.

The monetary allowance is assessed as satisfactory. The contract sergeant receives 25,000 without allowances. If he has passed the jumping program, has access to secrecy, class, a qualifying stage in physical training, then his salary can easily turn out to be at the 40,000 mark. Snipers under the same conditions will receive about 50,000. Senior lieutenant in a major position - 65,000, lieutenant colonel, deputy brigade commander - a little over 80,000. Conscript - about 2.000.

There are foreign weapons in the brigade for familiarizing personnel. Shooting from such a weapon is problematic - there is a shortage of ammunition.

Unregulated clothing and thermal underwear for conscripts are not allowed. But the statutory thermal underwear is available and is issued for field trips in winter.

According to the company commander, approximately one or two people in the company serve "through force", i.e. they don't want to serve at all. On the other hand, many conscripts want to join the 16th brigade. This is not so simple. First of all, you need impeccable health and the presence of a representative of the unit at the recruiting station. Tambovites willingly go to serve in the brigade. Close work is being carried out with military-patriotic clubs.

Well, some specifics. The officer shared the details of the service of soldiers specializing in unmanned aerial reconnaissance. The UAVs, or rather the Grusha reconnaissance complex, which are now in service, can be considered morally obsolete, but still coping with their tasks. The task is reconnaissance and monitoring of the terrain, providing photos and videos to the control point or to the commander of a group performing a special assignment. The use of UAVs can greatly reduce the work time of a special forces group, for example, a search area of 100 square kilometers, instead of 6 hours on foot, can be flown in a UAV in a few minutes.

Decryption of data from the "drone" is not necessary, the results can be viewed by anyone. From the new UAVs, you can immediately broadcast data, but first you need to land the "Pear" and remove the USB flash drive - an ordinary SD card.

Typically, the UAV flies at an altitude of about 300 meters. From a height of no more than 150 meters, you can use it to find a detached person in the forest.

For training purposes, UAVs are constantly used to monitor groups on field exits - they do not allow them to relax, they check how briskly they move or whether they disguised themselves well. This is very useful for both onlookers and onlookers.

It is possible to disable the UAV by means of electronic warfare. For example, to hamper the control cleanliness. Any kind of shooting at the BP is not very promising, the target is too micro-sized. The drone itself can also carry a special jamming module. I would like to equip the UAV with thermal imagers, they just proposed to put foreign devices on the "Pear", but at 400,000 per unit, which is more expensive than the UAV itself.

Preparing a UAV for launch by two people takes about 5 minutes. Controlling a UAV is not difficult, almost anyone can be taught in six months. UAVs do not perform aerobatics, the turns are quite smooth.

On the training of intelligence operators: in the troops, the wisdom of air reconnaissance is mastered by themselves. Representatives of the manufacturer come to the unit or officers go to the plant and study there. Then the officers train the soldiers. Moreover, near Kolomna there is a special The educational center, who trains the soldier-operators of the UAV, but he is so "secret" that the troops do not really know about him. So they “invent bicycles” together with the manufacturers.

The desire of a soldier to master such a specialty is taken into account, but is not decisive. It requires people with higher education who can work with computers. By the way, in addition to controlling the UAV, the soldier is also trained in everything else required for training in special forces. No one will be able to "roll back" under the cover of a UAV from the hardships and deprivations of service.

In the meantime, a group of special forces soldiers practiced the skills of covert movement in the wooded area.

Having broken up into microgroups, the fighters passed the given route.

In addition to the approach to the set point, the retreat was trained no less carefully.

While some were working in the forest, others were preparing a meeting with Santa Claus in the area of the polygon sports camp.

The ensign with the soldiers lit a fire, brought tea in thermoses, took out Tula gingerbread.

Grandfather Frost came out of the forest at the light.

While Grandfather kept a record of gifts in his duffel bag, “12 months” stretched into the clearing.

After talking with Santa Claus, the fighters took part in a small quiz with prizes (sneakers and other gingerbread) and started drinking tea. We sang a little songs with a guitar too.

a song sung with a guitar by the fire

When asked about the color of camouflage coats, I received the following answer: the groups are constantly engaged in combat training, which is why the robes are such “workers”.

We moved from the training ground to the territory of the brigade. In the plan of events there were demonstration performances. The topic of the speeches was anti-terror.

Introductory simple: armed criminals broke into the territory of the brigade, took hostages, weapons and put forward various demands.

To neutralize the terrorist threat, two light armored vehicles "Tiger" with a landing party on board arrived.

The terrorists immediately opened fire with automatic weapons.

Spetsnaz landed from armored vehicles, machine gunners crushed terrorists with fire, allowing assault groups to get closer to the enemy.

Light army armored car GAZ-233014 STS "Tiger". Side and stern projections are protected by heat-treated armor plates in the 3rd class, frontal - in the 5th class. Since 2014, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has been refusing to purchase "Tigers" and plans to "flood" the troops with the Italian armored car IVECO LVM-M65 "Lynx".

The assault group, under the cover of machine gunners, advanced one throw.

The blocked "terrorists" were partly destroyed by well-aimed fire, partly captured, a special forces group seized a briefcase with documents.

After completing all the assigned tasks, the group also smoothly retreated under the cover of armored vehicles, plunged into the airborne compartments and with that departed.

Pay attention to the mailboxes: one of them is used so that any member of the brigade could write a message to the brigade commander or one of his deputies. This is in addition to the helpline numbers posted on the part. It was recognized as effective as a means of combating the remnants of bullying.

For the 50th anniversary, a demonstration program was specially prepared in the brigade, which included elements of hand-to-hand combat and techniques with weapons.

And finally, it's time to eat.

The location of the 16th separate special forces brigade, or military unit 54607, is the city of Tambov. The compound is listed in the Book of Honor of the former Moscow Military District, and was awarded a challenge banner several times. The brigade consists of four battalions. Three are in the garrison on the territory of the former chemical protection school, the fourth in the village of Protasovo, Tambov region.

History

The division was formed in January 1963 in the village. Chuchkovo, Ryazan region. In 1972 he carried out the task of extinguishing fires in several areas of the Central Region. Later, the structural units of the compound carried out tasks to protect government facilities in Tajikistan, and also were engaged in the elimination of criminal groups in Chechnya and the North Caucasus region. Living conditions in the barracks (sleeping places, washbasin, change house)

Eyewitness impressions

The material and living conditions of service are called good. The fighters of such a unit as military unit 54607 live in comfortable cockpit hostels. Each cockpit has a separate shower room and bathroom. There are washing machines, but soldiers acquire powder and other detergents on their own from monetary allowance.
Of the infrastructure facilities on the territory of the unit there is a shop, a bathhouse, a sports complex and a canteen. Officers and soldiers eat together.
Non-statutory relationships and bullying are not noted for several reasons. Firstly, servicemen of different conscription do not live on the same floor of the hostel. Second, the soldiers are examined physically and physically every evening. Thirdly, mailboxes are posted throughout the garrison, in which each of the employees can put a written message to the leadership.

Physical training

At present, military unit 54607 is 50% staffed with contract servicemen. The selection criteria for applicants are as follows:

  • Age 18-35 years old;

A sportsman in one of the barracks

In addition to specialized language exams, soldiers undergo psychological and physical testing once a month. If a fighter fails the tests, he can be transferred to another unit, not related to special forces.
Shooting practice is held once a week, at the range near the village. Protasovo. Field exercises last about a month and are held during the summer. Also, classes in hand-to-hand combat are held regularly, there is a jumping tower where soldiers learn to parachute. For a certain number of jumps, special forces are paid extra.
Servicemen of military unit 54607 receive money on a VTB-24 card.

There is no ATM at the checkpoint, a Sberbank terminal is installed, and a commission of 100 rubles is charged for withdrawing money. Parents are advised to hand over to employees the Momentum card opened in their own name. If it was not possible to hand over the card, the soldier can ask to withdraw money from contractors, or those who are on leave.

Study room

The oath is taken after the course of a young fighter, which lasts about a month. The oath is taken on Saturdays at 9.00 am. Relatives are advised to arrive early in order to issue a pass at the checkpoint. After the event, leave is allowed on the security of the passport of the parents or wife. For the rest of the time, dismissal services are provided upon the arrival of relatives. The soldier notifies the unit commander about this in the form of a report. It is desirable to write it on Thursday. If the leave is denied, you can meet with the fighter at the checkpoint, where there is a room for visitors. Dismissals are granted from 13.00 on Saturday (after the park-business day) and from 9.00 in the morning on Sunday. The soldier must arrive at the unit no later than 20.00.

Servicemen of military unit 54607 are given telephones every evening, one hour before lights out. Fighters receive MTS SIM cards with inexpensive tariffs under the Call Mom program at the military registration and enlistment office. A lost SIM card cannot be restored, they buy a new one, usually Megafon.
On the territory of the unit there is an infirmary, there is a medical unit. In case of complications of diseases or prolonged acclimatization, soldiers can be sent to a military hospital in Tambov.

On April 29, 1969, the brigade was awarded the Combat Banner of the unit.

From 15.08. Until 09/03/1972, the brigade personnel carried out a government assignment to extinguish fires in the Central Black Earth zone (Moscow, Ryazan, Vladimir and Gorky regions). The brigade was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR for completing this task. Awarded the medal "For courage in a fire" - 158 people, more than 200 received letters of thanks.

In 1977, the brigade was entered in the book of honor of the Moscow Military District. In 1976, 1977, 1982, 1985, 1986 she was awarded the Challenge Banner of the Military Council of the Moscow Military District.

The detachment was stationed on the outskirts of the settlement of Lashkar Gakh.

The telegram from the USSR Minister of Defense said that the one who captured the first Stinger was to receive a high award - the Golden Star of the Hero of the Soviet Union.

For courage and heroism, two hundred and twenty-four internationalist soldiers were awarded military orders and medals.

In 1992, to carry out combat missions in Tajikistan, two detachments were formed on the basis of the brigade under the command of Lieutenant Colonel G.A. Chekunov. (370th ooSpN) and Lieutenant Colonel Breslavsky S.V. (669th ooSpN), a total of 402 people. On the territory of Tajikistan, from 09/28/1992 to 11/30/1992, the personnel of the detachments performed tasks to protect important military and state facilities.

In early October 1993, a consolidated detachment, separated from the brigade, performed tasks to strengthen the protection and defense of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff in Moscow. In 1993, 1994 and 1996, the group of the brigade again took first place at the competitions in tactical and special training for the championship of the Armed Forces, and the Cup of the winner of the competition remains for eternal storage in the brigade, which took first place three times in a row.

In 1996 and 1997, the SPN group performs at international competitions in Slovakia. In 1994, the SPN group performs ostentatious classes in Jordan. The brigade was visited by foreign delegations from Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Syria, Algeria, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, and the United States.

In the First Chechen War of 1994-1996, Russian special forces also took an active part. At the beginning of 1995, it was coordinated and was sent to the North Caucasian region (from 01/13/1995 to 05/02/1995) a consolidated (based on the 370th ooSpN) detachment, which participated in the elimination of illegal armed groups on the territory of Chechnya. The detachment was commanded by Major Sergeev E.G.

Annually on January 24, the brigade celebrates the Day of Remembrance, dedicated to those killed in the line of duty.

From 08/14/1999 to 09/26/2006, the 664th ooSpN brigade in the amount of 250 people was included in the temporary operational group of the Russian troops in the North Caucasus. The detachment took part in a counter-terrorist operation on the territory of the North Caucasus region. Four servicemen of the brigade were awarded the title Hero of Russia. Combat awards for their courage were awarded to 176 servicemen of the brigade.

The hostilities in the North Caucasus have not yet ended, and the brigade command was ordered to prepare personnel for peacekeeping tasks in the Balkans. From October 2001 to May 2002, the company, formed on the basis of the brigade, took part in the peacekeeping operation in Yugoslavia (Kosovo).

By Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No.990-C of August 28, 2003, military unit 54607 was transferred from Chuchkovo to a new point of permanent deployment, the city of Tambov.

In June 2005, at the international competitions of the special forces groups held in Belarus, the group from the brigade took 3rd place and 1st place in cross-country cross-country. In July 2005, at the competitions of the special forces groups for the championship of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (Pskov), the group from the brigade took 4th place.

In August 2005 and 2006, the brigade was visited by military delegations from Belarus and Vietnam, and in September 2006 - from Jordan. The special forces group took part in special tactical exercises on the territory of Jordan.

In July 2007 and August 2009, on the basis of the brigade, competitions of special-purpose groups for the championship of the RF Armed Forces were held.

On July 8, 2007 in the brigade the Monument to the soldiers-scouts who died in the line of military duty was unveiled.

From 12.08.2008 to October 2009 the servicemen of the brigade took part in a peacekeeping mission on the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia. The results of combat work were the capture and destruction of a large number of weapons, ammunition, military equipment of the enemy, including boats of special operations forces, equipment. For the successful fulfillment of combat missions during the operation to force Georgia to peace, 436 servicemen of the brigade were awarded state awards of the Russian Federation. Our scouts were marked with awards of the Republic of Abkhazia.

On May 9, 2011, the personnel of the brigade were entrusted with the honorary right to take part in the Victory Parade on Red Square in Moscow. In 2012, the brigade's military equipment marched in parade formation on Palace Square in St. Petersburg.

During the two months of September-October 2012, the reinforced consolidated detachment of the brigade took part in the Strategic Command Post Exercise "KAVKAZ-2012".

As usual, we were shown the behavior of groups in a combat situation and the training of military personnel, expressed in overcoming various obstacle courses.
At the first stage, there was the advancement of the group, the detection and destruction of the enemy, then the withdrawal under the cover of the units of the company of special weapons. Everything was fast enough - the group was advancing in dashes, a short fire raid, and a retreat.
So beloved by everyone finger along;)

The dynamics of the "battle" was constantly extinguished by the shooting fraternity, which captured the fighters in courageous poses.
5.

6.

7.

The "battle" was carried out directly at the shooting range of the "Trigulai" range and was fought with live ammunition, so there were no options to shoot near. So as not to be hooked.
This boychina cheerfully landed 5 RPG-18 grenades on targets
8.

Under cover of fire from the PKP "Pecheneg", the group withdrew from the "Tiger" company of special weapons
9.

As for the Tigers, the officers have the following opinion: such a machine is needed only in a company of special weapons (the rest of the units are either airlifted or advanced on foot), and even then not in the current version. The company is currently armed with STS GAZ-233014, which have an unarmored engine and protection of the module with a crew from 7.62 bullets. We need fully armored vehicles (at least holding armor-piercing 7.62) with mandatory engine protection. The main weapon is considered a machine gun, although there are also installed automatic grenade launchers AGS-17
10.

"Tigers" were received in 2009, before that in the company of special weapons were BTR-80. Detailed photos The interior of the car from the inside and outside can be seen in the report from the 22nd Specialized Brigade. they are identical.
The Israeli off-road vehicle Zibar was also tested in the brigade. He amazed everyone, of course, with his crazy cross-country ability, tk. even in one of the most impassable places it gave 120 km / h. But the niches in the brigades are not very visible to him, tk. not armored, and the main divisions, again, move forward on foot.
There is also a platoon of unmanned aerial vehicles, which are armed with complexes based on the UAV 421-08 "Grusha", I did not photograph them, because I have already seen the same in the 22nd brigade (see the link), but the opinion of the officers is as follows: an unmanned aerial vehicle short range good for reconnaissance battalions motorized rifle brigades at the forefront. Special Forces brigades do not need such a drone, tk. they work deep behind enemy lines and it is completely impractical to carry an extra weight on themselves for several hundred kilometers. Long-range UAVs are needed that allow reconnaissance in the depths of enemy territory.

Let's take a closer look at snipers.
11.

They are all contract soldiers, at the moment there is only one conscript, but in the future he will be replaced. Most of them studied at the courses at the Solnechnogorsk school. School graduates are entitled to an additional payment of 30 thousand rubles per month
12.

Normally, snipers are supplied with an SVD rifle, scout-snipers of the VSS "Vintorez", the most professionally trained fighters within the group are assigned sniper rifles of foreign production

They promise to soon make, by replacing, the standardization of all foreign rifles in the unit under the caliber .308win (replacement for SSG04?).
They had no case with SV-98 in the unit, but they heard a lot about its shortcomings, they spoke well about Lobaev's products. I told the commander about the Orsis T-5000, since Sasha recently shared his opinion. In short, the officer has a high opinion of foreign rifles, a very good weapon, but as a patriot, of course, he wants his own.

The brigade's snipers were provided with ballistic calculators, meteorological stations, night vision devices, rangefinders, and observation tubes. The equipment is still at their own expense.

EOTech 512 collimator sights are regularly issued to the deputy commanders of the groups for the assault rifle. Different people have different opinions on their use, one officer said that it was a good thing, the other, that yes, it was good, but I don’t see much sense in it, he would not take on assignments.
35.

The same is true for various sheds for weapons such as handles, strips, etc. Some officers used them on assignments and responded well, others said that they used them, but they would not take them to combat exits, tk. they do not give special advantages, but add excess weight. Among the reasons why there is no need for them (from people who used different pribluds) were the following:
- The experience of Chechnya has shown that all the clashes took place among the special forces groups at a distance of 20-30 meters, where the optics, the collimator do not play a role - the enemy is perfectly visible and so.
- any extra load during large pedestrian crossings (which is the norm in special forces) is always a burden.
- sights, pens, bars, no-no, tend to cling to uniforms, if necessary, to sharply bring the weapon into a firing position.

The NSVS "Utes" machine gun was also demonstrated from the weapon.

In 2006, the entire brigade replaced automotive equipment (mainly URALs), including communication vehicles (arrived at the KAMAZ base)

Further, at the training ground, we were shown the passage of an obstacle course.
In the photo there are conscripts. The brigade made a decision to equip two battalions with contract soldiers (at the moment it is 70% completed), one with conscripts (to prepare a reserve)

Lessons per day can be up to 10 hours (8 in the afternoon and 2 at night), the emphasis is on physical, tactical and special, fire training, topography, engineering training, etc.

This guy served as a "ladder" for the whole group.

After completing the passage of the strip, the TV crew drove the guys over again for stage-by-stage filming.

In general, all movements from the unit to the landfill and back (18 km in one direction) are made on foot, in the form of forced marches, etc. This is how endurance is trained.
46.

Take two. At the forefront of the attack is the group commander, a lieutenant. This year, about 25 young officers from schools came to replenish the brigade. If earlier, in the early 2000s, many immediately after joining the unit wrote a letter of resignation, then somewhere in 2007 they go with the desire to serve. Some also agree to sergeant positions, just to continue their service (as they vacate their positions, they are put on officer positions). In the brigade, bonuses are paid by order of the Ministry of Defense No. 400.

There is also a mountain strip at the landfill. One of the brigade units has a full standard set of mountain shooters equipment

52.

Only guys with the highest category of suitability - A1 - are subject to conscription into the brigade. It is becoming more and more difficult to select such people, because every year the quality of health of recruits falls and falls
53.

Approximately 30% of the conscripts in the brigade are persons with higher education
