I wonder if there are children in the world who don’t like sweets? All you have to do is let the little person try a piece of candy once, and you can forget about the calm rustling of the sweet wrapper. For many children this love passes, and some carry it throughout their lives. How often can you hear the phrase “I can’t live a day without sweets.” Despite doctors’ admonitions about the dangers of sweets for our body, people still remain true to their preferences.

Of course, no one with a sweet tooth would agree to remove their favorite cakes and sweets from their diet. Is it worth doing this at all? If you observe moderation in everything, then no! In addition to the danger to teeth and figure, sweets bring a good mood into our lives. Play sports, maintain personal hygiene and you won’t have to deprive yourself of a cup of aromatic coffee with a delicious piece of Napoleon.

The benefit of the product lies in its quality

The most important thing is to observe moderation in everything and choose a quality product.

If adults can sometimes afford not to look at the composition of the product they are purchasing, then they must be extremely careful with children's sweets. After all, if you buy a very tasty, although not entirely healthy, delicacy, you can end up with a much more serious problem than tooth decay.

Dozens on store shelves beckon and call little customers with their bright packaging and funny shapes. Only after reading do you understand that this is not a time bomb for a fragile organism. The amount of added E is enough for one more table of elements.

Replenishment of the assortment

One of the latest confectionery products is the cute “Barney” cookies, in the shape of a bear. For convenience, it is packaged in a separate bag, so it is convenient to give it to a child for a snack at school or on a walk. The popularity of these cookies turned out to be so great that manufacturers began to produce them by weight. If you believe the advertising, this is an incredibly healthy food for a child. Is it really?

What manufacturers say

“Barney Bear” is a very delicate sponge cake with chocolate filling. Cookies are ideal for satisfying hunger, as manufacturers have done everything to balance all the ingredients as correctly as possible. Mothers especially like it because it is incredibly useful, and children are amused by its funny shape. Plus, it's very tasty.

What benefit does it bring? Manufacturers claim that they use only natural products and in no case dyes. Its main advantage is the presence of calcium in the biscuit, where a young, growing body would be without it. And, of course, chocolate filling. Almost double pleasure for children - sweet in sweet.

What exactly are Barney cookies?

Let's break down the cookies into their components. When studying the composition of any product, you need to take into account that the ingredients are arranged in descending order. That is, the main products come first. The first place in Barney mini cookies is occupied by syrup based on glucose and fructose, and they are not the best friends for the feeling of fullness. The child, of course, will be full of one cookie, especially if he drinks juice, but the feeling of hunger will soon return to him. In addition, frequent consumption of products containing such syrup is the first step towards obesity.

Next comes According to food industry standards, only refined oil is used in confectionery. On the one hand, rapeseed is a plant that can be harmful, but on the other hand, scientists have not yet been able to prove the benefits of this product. Children's bodies are not the place for experiments, so it is better to refrain from such components.

“Barney Bear” is a cookie for children, so it’s good that it contains lecithin, albeit soy, but it is purified to the maximum and processed at a minimum temperature. It seems that there is nothing terrible, but only on one condition that manufacturers approach their work honestly and responsibly and do not use genetically modified raw materials.

Additive E450, popularly known as baking powder, and in chemistry as phosphates. If you use them too often and a lot, the body begins to poorly absorb calcium. Agree, this is not a very necessary function in children's products.

“Barney Bear” has a pleasant vanilla taste thanks to a flavoring agent called “vanillin.” No matter how manufacturers assure us that all products are natural, the vanillin used is entirely the merit of chemists. Most chemical products contain toxic impurities. Therefore, be careful when purchasing products that contain artificial flavors, especially when children are susceptible to allergies.

Summarize

How healthy this biscuit bear is is up to the individual parent to decide, but reviews of mini-Barney cookies indicate that not everyone is ready to buy this delicacy for their children. Many mothers tend not to buy sweets for their children in stores at all, but prepare them themselves.

As for this, this is probably the best option: please your child with delicious food and be confident in its quality. In addition, Barney cookies are very easy to make at home.

Cook at home. Tasty and healthy

To make funny bears we don’t need a lot of ingredients.

100 g butter or margarine (if possible, it is better to take high-quality butter).

1 cup of flour (maybe more, it all depends on the flour itself and the amount of other products taken).

3 eggs (necessarily fresh).

1 tsp. baking powder (or the old fashioned way, baking soda slaked with vinegar).

Fresh (frozen) cherries. If you don’t have it, use other favorite berries or even replace it with jam.

Sugar. It all depends on your tastes, on average 6 tbsp. spoons

How to cook

In a bowl with high sides, where we will prepare Barney cookies, beat 3 eggs (some cooks recommend adding salt) and add sugar. Beat until the sugar is completely dissolved. Then add ghee and flour, which must be sifted and mixed with baking powder. The dough should have the same consistency as pancakes. Add vanilla sugar if desired.

Now put the dough into the molds. Place several cherries in the middle of the bear, after defrosting and removing the pits. Bake the animal in the oven at 180C.

Our “Barney Bear” is ready, you can call the children and treat them to a tasty and absolutely harmless treat.

Good afternoon, dear readers! Today we are preparing Barney bears at home. The finished cupcakes are airy, tender, and simply melt in your mouth. This dessert will appeal to both children and adults. Believe me, after baking you will have to repeat the recipe more than once for an encore.

Many children love this dessert, but, unfortunately, the composition of store-bought cupcakes is far from ideal.

In addition, regularly buying bears in the store is expensive for the budget. Therefore, you can “kill 2 birds with one stone”: both save money and be confident in the composition of the food.

Trust me, your family will love this new homemade Barney Bears recipe.

Ingredients for the dough:

1. Flour – 130 g

2. Eggs – 3 pcs.

3. Sugar – 100 g

4. Baking powder – 1 tsp.

5. Butter - 30 gr.

Filling:

1. Boiled condensed milk – 100 g

Ingredients for glaze:

1. Powdered sugar – 100 g

2. Lemon juice – 1 tbsp.

3. Boiled water – 1 tbsp.

Step by step recipe:

1. Beat eggs with sugar.

2. The mass should thicken and turn noticeably white. Whipping time – 10-15 minutes. If desired, you can separate the eggs into whites and yolks and beat separately. And only then combine everything with sugar.

3. Melt the butter and let it cool. Add to the dough.

4. Sift the flour together with the baking powder. Mix into the egg-sugar mixture with a spatula or mixer. No baking powder? Replace it with a mixture of soda and citric acid. The dough will rise perfectly and no one will notice the substitution.

5. Prepare a baking dish in the shape of bears. If the mold is silicone, then you do not need to lubricate it with oil. If you have an iron mold, then first grease it with butter and sprinkle with flour. This technique is called the “French shirt”.

Place 1 tablespoon of dough into each mold.

6. Add 1 teaspoon of filling to the middle - in our case, boiled condensed milk. Also, condensed milk can be replaced with banana, sweets, berries or even jam.

Pour another spoonful of dough on top to cover the filling. An important point: do not add too much dough, the form should eventually be filled to 3⁄4 of the total volume.

7. Bake Barney bears in the oven at 190 degrees. Baking time – 20 minutes. Check the doneness of the cupcakes with a skewer or toothpick (if you stick them in the middle and take them out, they should come out clean, without any traces of batter). You can also check for doneness by lightly pressing in the middle of the cake.

8. Remove the bears from the molds and let them cool to room temperature.

9. At this time, prepare the glaze. Pour lemon juice into the powdered sugar and, adding a little water, stir until smooth. Instead of white icing, you can make a chocolate coating.

10. Cover the finished baked goods with icing and decorate to your liking.

11. Classic Barney bears are ready!

Additional Information:

If you don’t have a bear-shaped baking dish on hand, don’t worry. The dough is versatile, and you can bake regular cupcakes using this recipe, or make one large cupcake for the whole family.

In this case, you can add the filling in the middle of the baking, or skip this step altogether. The main thing to remember is that if you are baking a large cake, you will most likely have to increase the baking time.

The finished dessert should be poured with glaze and decorated as desired.

Is the frosting not coming out? The problem has a simple solution - chop the chocolate with a knife to fine crumbs. Melt it in a water bath or in the microwave.

Gently pour the top of the pastry. Let the chocolate layer cool to room temperature. The frosting will be rich in color and flavor, and your cupcake will benefit from this substitution.

As you can see, it’s not difficult to prepare a Barney bear dessert, just like in the store: a recipe with condensed milk. With a little patience and imagination, your kids won’t be able to tell the difference between homemade cakes and store-bought cupcakes. Enjoy your tea!

All mothers want to please their children with delicious and healthy desserts. But very often children ask to buy them what they see in store windows or in advertising on TV. In this recipe we will tell and show you how to prepare the popular dessert Barney at home. Naturally, Barney prepared at home will not contain emulsifiers, dyes, flavors, palm oil and other food additives, as in a store-bought Barney bear. Biscuit dough is prepared using only three ingredients. Special molds in the shape of a cute bear cub are sold in every city, but even if you cannot find exactly this mold, you can use any cupcake mold.

Ingredients for making Biscuit Barney Bears

Show your children some love and attention by making your own fresh, fragrant, nutritious and delicious Biscuit Barney Bears. Bon appetit!

Children really like delicious Barney Bears biscuits, and, to be honest, I wouldn’t mind eating them. 🙂 Soft portioned biscuits in the shape of bears with different fillings quickly became popular - both interesting and tasty!

What if you try to make Barney bears at home? I have already mastered making a variety of children’s delicacies at home: lollipops, glazed cheese curds, various cookies (recipes are here and on the Children’s Website), which means I need to master homemade Barney bears too!

Ingredients:

I made the dough according to the recipe for the Cherry Wave sponge cake.

  • 100 g sugar;
  • 100 g butter;
  • 2 eggs;
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder;
  • 1 cup flour;
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder;
  • Jam, condensed milk or chocolate for filling.

You will also need a silicone mold in the shape of bears and vegetable oil to grease it (if you, like me, are baking for the first time in a new mold).

How to make Barney Bear cupcakes at home:

Beat the softened butter with a mixer and sugar for a minute at medium speed.

Add the eggs and beat a little more until fluffy.

Sift the flour mixed with baking powder into the dough and mix.

The result is an airy dough of medium thickness. Let's divide it into 2 parts: 2/3 and 1/3.

Pour cocoa into the smaller part and mix well.

Then I carefully greased the mold with sunflower oil - since new silicone molds need to be greased, but in subsequent times it is no longer necessary.

Fill the mold halfway with dough.

Then we put the filling in the middle: a coffee spoon of jam, or condensed milk, or a piece of chocolate.

And we close the filling with a scrap of dough on top - in total, the mold should be filled 2/3-¾ - so that the bears do not “escape”, taking into account that the cupcakes will rise during baking.

Bake the cupcakes until a dry wooden stick, 25-30 minutes at 180-200C, use your oven as a guide.

Let the finished “bears” cool a little, then carefully remove them from the molds.

The drawing on the faces was not very clear, so the children and I additionally painted the bears with sugar pencils, depicting eyes, noses and smiles.

The homemade Barney bears did not taste quite the same as the store-bought ones: the store-bought ones were more biscuit-like. But our bears also went really well with the kids. 🙂

Perhaps you can offer your own version of the test so that Barney turns out closer to the classic version?
