If you got 2 on the exam. Deuce on the exam - what to do? Is it possible to retake the exam if I have already entered the university

Is it possible to retake the unified state exam, what to do for graduates of past years, how to enter a university bypassing the USE - Natalia Yusupova, Deputy Head of the Education Department of the Novosibirsk Region, answered these and other questions to the Sibkrai.ru portal.

Arial size = 3> - Let's start with the main thing: how is the USE going in the Novosibirsk region this year?

Arial size = 3> - Three exams passed within two days. On the first day, the graduates took computer science and biology, and last Friday one of the two compulsory exams took place - in the Russian language. Judging by the statements of the guys, everything was fine, the tasks were not too difficult. Therefore, we very much hope that we will have good results. As for the turnout, almost all 11-graders came to the exam, with the exception of a few who could not do it for good reasons.

Arial size = 3> True, we thought that many graduates from previous years would come to the Unified State Exam, but they turned out to be 2 thousand less than expected. In addition, graduates of secondary and primary vocational education institutions took the exam, and less than half of the expected number came from this category.

Arial size = 3> - What should an 11-grader do if he has failed the USE this year?

Arial size = 3> - If a graduate has not passed one of the compulsory subjects - Russian language or mathematics, then he can come on reserve days (June 17 and 20) and retake. In case of an unsatisfactory result in two compulsory subjects, it will be possible to re-pass the tests only after a year.

Arial size = 3> It should be remembered that 11-graders this year have two compulsory exams - in Russian and in mathematics. All other exams are required only for admission to a university, and they do not affect the issuance of a secondary education certificate.

Arial size = 3> - And if a person is not satisfied with the assessment? For example, I counted on a four - got a three? Can you fix the result somehow?

Arial size = 3> - Alas, no. If you are not satisfied with the C or C you received on the exam, you can no longer retake the exam. This is the final result.

Arial size = 3> - Is the Unified State Exam required to enter the university?

Arial size = 3> - Yes - if you are going to enter the full-time department. For evening students and correspondence students, universities independently determine the form of the exam, according to the admission rules.

Arial size = 3> - Are the rules the same for graduates of vocational schools?

Arial size = 3> - If graduates of institutions of secondary vocational education are going to enter a specialized university, in this case the forms of admission are determined directly by the university itself. It is not necessary to take the exam. At the same time, the guys are immediately enrolled in the third year. But if, say, you graduated from a technical college and decided to study further as a lawyer - that is, not in your profile - then you will have to take the Unified State Exam.

Arial size = 3> - And in order to enter a college or technical school, school graduates also need to take the Unified State Exam?

Arial size = 3> - If this specialty is accepted on the basis of 11 grades, then the Unified State Exam will have to be passed. And if on the basis of 9, then - no. Thus, ninth-graders have a definite advantage - having entered after the 9th grade in an institution of secondary vocational education and after graduating from it, they can go straight to the third year at a university without taking the exam.

Arial size = 3> - What should graduates of previous years who did not take the Unified State Exam at one time?

Arial size = 3> - If a person enters the full-time department of a university, then in any case he will have to take the Unified State Exam. Exam points will be organized on the basis of universities, and the graduate must directly contact the university where he is going to enter. There he will be prompted at which point it will be possible to pass the exam.

Arial size = 3> - What is the validity period of the USE results?

Arial size = 3> - One and a half years.

That the very concept of a two is not entirely correct, it would be more correct to say - non-receipt of the minimum USE score in the subject.

The USE subjects are divided into two groups - these are compulsory subjects (Russian and mathematics) and optional subjects.

A bad mark in compulsory USE subjects can be retaken in the same year on reserve days. But it is worth noting that only one of the subjects - Russian or mathematics. If the minimum score is not scored in two compulsory subjects at once, then retaking is possible only after a year.

A two in elective subjects can be retaken only after a year. But an unsatisfactory mark for an optional exam will not be put on the USE certificate and is not displayed in any way in other documents. Accordingly, everything looks as if the student did not pass this subject.

In case of an unsatisfactory mark or simply, in your opinion, underestimated points, you can appeal to the revision of the USE results. In the case of a two, the situation will not get worse (it is already bad), but in the case of just a low score, according to the results of the work of the conflict commission, they can both add and subtract points.

A few figures from the official statistics of the exam

In 2010, 16 thousand graduates of the 11th grade did not receive their certificates as a result of failing to pass the USE even on the second attempt, of which 8 thousand did not pass two obligatory exams at once. This figure was about 2% of the total number of graduates. Based on the USE results, 60 thousand appeals were filed, of which 20 thousand were satisfied.

Passing the unified state exam is an important step in the life of every graduate. For some, this is a formality that allows you to get a document on education, and for someone - the opportunity to successfully enter the desired university in the country. But, sometimes fate brings unexpected adjustments to a person's life. So, in 2017, 3.4% of all USE participants were unable to overcome the barrier required to obtain a certificate. Even more were unable to achieve the points required for admission to highly regarded universities. What to do if you "flunked" the exam and is a second attempt possible?

Until 2017, the right to re-take the USE was granted only to persons who did not overcome the minimum threshold in compulsory subjects, on the delivery of which the receipt of a certificate depends.

One of the important innovations in 2017 was the ability to retake any subject submitted to the exam. Thus, in 2018 it will be possible to get a second attempt in the Russian language, mathematics, physics, computer science, literature, chemistry, biology, geography, social studies, history or foreign languages.

It is important to take into account the following facts:

  1. You can retake only 1 exam.
  2. You can now try to retake an item twice.
  3. You can retake one subject if there is a good reason (documentary evidence is required) or at will (in order to increase the score, it will be possible to retake the exam next year).
  4. Previous graduates who took part in the preliminary or main session of the USE-2018 and received an unsatisfactory score do not receive the right to retake.
  5. If a graduate is not allowed to retake in 2018, he can re-take the USE in a year.

Dates of retaking the exam in 2018

In 2018, it will be possible to retake one of the USE subjects that did not submit the first time:

  • 1 retake - in the summer on reserve days indicated in the USE calendar;
  • 2nd retake - in September 2018.

Thus, having increased the score to the desired one on 1 attempt, you can have time to submit documents to the university on the main wave. After 2 retakes, it is unlikely to enter the budget. But, this is another chance for those for whom the question of obtaining a certificate of education remains open. Although, many universities, in which there is a shortage of applicants for budgetary places, sometimes conduct an additional enrollment in the autumn months.

The certificate of the Unified State Examination 2018 is valid for 4 years. This means that having passed the exam on the 3rd attempt, the graduate gets a chance to enter the desired university next year according to the exam results already available.

The dates for the early, main and autumn final examinations in 2018 are set by ORDER of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia No. 1099 of 10.11.2017 year, the full text of which can be viewed.

Who will be eligible for retaking the exam in 2018

According to the new rules in 2018, retaking of any subject of the exam is possible in the following cases:

  1. unsatisfactory result;
  2. failure to appear for the exam for a good reason (documentary evidence is required);
  3. incomplete test (for a good reason: poor health of the examinee, emergency at the site of the exam, etc.);
  4. cancellation of the test result (through no fault of the examinee).

A significant reason for failure to appear means: illness or planned surgery (confirmation - a certificate from a doctor), a car accident, the death of a close relative, and other similar situations.

Who will not be able to retake exams in 2018

Such a chance as retaking the exam is a great gift for all applicants in 2018. But, in some cases, graduates may be deprived of this right. The second attempt will fail if:

  1. The examinee will be removed from the audience for gross violation of the rules (cheating, using a telephone, a programmable calculator, communicating with neighbors, etc.).
  2. The exam result will be canceled due to the fault of the examinee (for example, when violations of the rules are revealed after watching an archived video).
  3. An unsatisfactory result was obtained in two subjects at once.
  4. In the case of a graduate of past years, the score is below the minimum established level for the subject.
  5. In case of missing the exam without a valid reason (overslept, forgot, was in a traffic jam ...)

Naturally, all the situations listed in this paragraph should be avoided. Rely on your own knowledge, not cribs or modern technical means. Prepare well for the exam and don't let the excitement get in the way of your dream!

What to do when transfer is not possible in 2018

If it happened that you fell into that small percentage of graduates who could not successfully pass the exam in three attempts or missed one of the USE exams for no good reason, do not be discouraged, and even more so panic. Consider the situation from the other side. Whatever happens, you have the right to try your luck next year. Moreover, in 2019, you will have to take only the exam for which the result is unsatisfactory or does not suit you.

In many European countries and the United States there is such a concept as "gap year", or "year of the break". Many graduates take a break before entering college.

How to use this time profitably?

  1. consider the choice of a profession;
  2. prepare for exams;
  3. relax and gain strength;
  4. earn a little extra money;
  5. learn to enjoy life!

Failure to pass the exam does not put an end to your dreams, it just gives you a break. Perhaps this is a sign and you just chose the wrong direction? And if the desired profession is your destiny, then this annoying misunderstanding will not be able to block your path to success.

Remember, it is by overcoming obstacles that a person hardens character and acquires life wisdom!

Recall that the exam is needed not only for admission. The school issues a certificate of secondary general education only upon successful completion of the Unified State Exam in compulsory academic subjects: Russian language and mathematics of a basic or specialized level. If you have a school certificate, but there are not enough points for admission to a university, then there are many options. And even if the compulsory subjects are not passed and the certificate is not issued, then the choice is small. We will tell you what to do for both. The main thing is not to despair and not get discouraged. Failure is a good life lesson.

Try retaking

You can retake an unsuccessful exam (result below the minimum score) in a compulsory subject, but only one. And there are some important points regarding the math exam. If a student has chosen both the basic and the profile level for passing and did not pass one of them, then retaking this year is impossible. After all, he passed the second one. If you do not pass both, it is possible, but only one attempt and only either basic or profile.

Re-examination of elective subjects in case of an unsatisfactory result is possible only next year.

If the exam was missed due to illness and there is a supporting certificate, then you can retake it on an additional day.

By the way, some categories of disabled people who have privileges, winners of Olympiads (international Olympiads in general subjects for schoolchildren, All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren, Olympiads for schoolchildren, Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympic Games) can enter a university without the Unified State Exam. The incentive for the winners of the Olympiads is valid for only one university.

Apply to a university with lower requirements, for part-time or evening studies

Some educational institutions accept for distance learning without presenting USE results in additional subjects (a certificate, of course, is required). You just have to pass the entrance exams for the chosen specialty at the educational institution itself.

In addition, if you passed the main subjects, then you can simply look for another university where additional subjects that you failed, or where there is less competition, are not required.

Go to college or college

For admission to the secondary school, a document on the completion of nine classes is enough, even if you do not have a certificate at the end of 11 classes. If you still want to have a higher education diploma, then you can go to a university after the first year of the secondary school. You will have the opportunity to take the exam in a year. If you go to a higher educational institution after graduating from a secondary specialty, you will need to pass entrance exams, but only for the same profile specialty.

Get a job

The work can be combined with preparing for the next year's exam. These are additional funds, and work experience, and work experience. Work experience is especially important if you choose a location close to your desired education.

Apply to a foreign university

If yesterday's student did not pass the USE with scores sufficient for admission to a university, but speaks a foreign language, then it is quite possible to try his hand at abroad. The main condition is to pass an international level test (the most common option is IELTS). But keep in mind that you need a school certificate (that is, you must pass Russian and mathematics).

The unified state exam is what causes genuine fear among graduates, a slight excitement for their parents and awe for teachers. Exams at the end of grade 11 are a logical end to school life, but this sucks a lot of strength and energy from the children, and the results sometimes turn out to be worse than expected. What should parents and the child himself do if the exam in one of the subjects is finally and irrevocably overwhelmed? Let's find out.

In fact, no matter how the teachers and relatives frighten the graduates, not passing the USE does not mean the end of the world. There are many options for what to do in this case, and today we will look at each of them.

  1. Retake. Everything is trite, yes, but few see this outcome as real: the fact is that for retaking, for example, elective subjects, you need to wait a whole year. But this is not a year lost in life, as many people think - these are new opportunities: a chance to prepare, hire tutors, do self-education and pass 100 points next time.
  2. Get a vocational secondary. Some believe that if their child goes to a technical school or college, it will be irretrievably lost and his professional growth will never take place. The stupidest mistake to think so. Firstly, a child can get a higher education after a technical school, and without passing those most ill-fated USE. And secondly: is it so bad to have an education as a working person, as we are told? Their salary is sometimes higher than that of graduate students and people of science, and employment is almost 100% guaranteed.
  3. Go to work. If it is not Russian or mathematics that is overwhelmed, but an optional subject, then you or your child most likely received a certificate of completion of 11 grades, because optional subjects are not taken into account in the grading. With this document, the graduate can get a job as a waiter, courier, postal worker or a consultant in a store.

You can prepare in advance for the USE in mathematics 2017 of the profile-level assignments, however, as well as for the USE in all other subjects.

By the way, there are universities that take only with compulsory subjects: architecture, for example, or the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography. True, you have to pass a creative exam or entrance exam in the educational institution itself.

Thus, there are at least three ways out of this situation. Do not despair if you did not pass the USE - this is just another life test, and you just made a mistake, on which everyone learns. If you or your child is just about to take the USE, then we wish you high scores and good assessors!
