Ukrainian guest numbers region. License plates by regions in Ukraine
New cars in Ukraine now have a greater number of combinations. They consist of eight characters, including two letters on the right and left. These letters denote the series and the region code, respectively. Another innovation - the autonomer of the first, third and fifth types can be acquired in constant use and to be stored in the regional or central service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (former MREO) for up to five years. They are fixed behind the owner, when buying a new car, after its design in the service center, they are transmitted to him back.
The history of the emergence of new license plates
The automobile rooms of Ukraine of the new sample were approved in 2004. They correspond to Gosstandart 4278: 2004 "license plates of vehicles". In addition, the country is valid previous standard DSTU 3650-97. Some car owners still lead machines with old Ukrainian cars.
After the USSR collapsed, the country became independent. Therefore, a new Gosstandart was required, which regulates the number of machines in Ukraine. The government in 1994 approved DSTU 25/88-94, which acted until 2004. He differed little from the old regulations, the innovation was only a national yellow-blue flag.
When registering and designing, you need to receive new Ukrainian car numbers that comply with modern requirements. Old signs today are almost never found, they remained from rare motorists. Therefore, the point below will go about the license plates introduced into appeal after 1997.
Types of autonomer
In Ukraine, there are ten types of autonomyners who relate to a certain type of TC:
- Bus, road transport and trailers.
- Vehicles from the first category for one-time trips.
- Special transport for transportation of protected persons.
- Vehicles belonging to the diploma, as well as members of their families and serving staff.
- Motorport, including strollers.
- Transit signs for motor transport.
- Personal numbers made to order.
- Heavy equipment for agriculture and construction, including trailers.
- Military transport owned by power structures and MES.
- Mototransport owned by power departments and MES.
Autonomer until 2004
Until 2004, only Latin letters were applied to the numbers of Ukrainian cars. It was necessary because the country joined the International Convention on Road Motion. Since 1997, the State Standard has been operating, which excluded Cyrillic.
To replace the 7-digit rooms of cars in the regions that were previously in the Soviet Union, 10-digit with the number of the car, the code of the region of the series and the national flag. Unlike standard white or black background, the signs owned by the police had a blue background, armed forces - black, and transit autonomer - red or green with black symbols.
New license plates
In 2004, new numbers of cars across the regions came to replace the old. They correspond to the standard DSTU 4278: 2004. It is planned that they will gradually push out the old DSTU 3650-97. In addition to eight-digit characters, they differ in the image of the national flag and coat of arms, as well as the mandatory presence of the abbreviated name of Ukraine Latin, UA.
Otherwise, transit license plates now look different. On a dark red background there are dark black characters. The autonomer of militia and the armed forces have a blue and black background. For minibuses, yellow is specially highlighted, black characters are applied to it. Motorics now has license plates in the form of a square.
The new Gosstandart has made legitimate autonomer, which vehicle owners are manufactured by their own design. Such signs apply alphabetics, any symbolism. Similar license plates of the traffic police gives out the main autonomer as a duplicate. They can only be in Ukraine, in other states they are invalid.
Another innovation of the new standard is the consolidation of the owners of the rooms in the property. This means that when replacing the vehicle, it has the right to attach old signs to a new car or motor transport.
Until 2000, transit signs did in the form of the National Flag with Latin Letters UA and the inscription "Transit". After 2000, these autonomer were ordinary, only the color background was blue, and not white, as before. In 2001, the standard has changed. Today, transit autographs look green. Also, the innovations include the emergence of special autonomyners - senior officials, public transport, power structures and special equipment.
However, the new state standard did not introduce important changes. Highlights remained the same. Rooms of cars by region almost no different from the old regulations, which was introduced in 2004.
Colors of autonomer
Car numbers can be distinguished by the color of the background, which denotes, what type of transport includes a machine or motorcycles:
- White - TCs belonging to ordinary car owners.
- Blue-power departments to which the police belongs.
- Black - Armed Forces, Ministry of Emergency Situations.
- Yellow - public transport.
- Red - transit license plates.
The autonomer, which is installed on the diploma machines, should have an alphabetic designation - D. Also on such signs there is a country code or an international organization. The last three numbers indicate the serial number of the car.
License plates
Ukrainian security agencies at their disposal have autonomer, which are significantly different from the signs in possession of citizens and diploma representatives. They apply other letter notation - Latin symbols A, B, E, K, N, R, C, T, I, M, O, H. All are combined with numbers from 1 to 9.
State special transport applies a combination of G2. It should be noted that the designation of G1 to this corresponded to the National Guard, but after disbanding this combination remained free.
The SBU and the GSSPIA also at their disposal have their own rooms on which symbols C, R, T and Numen 6 are applied. The SBU employees on their machines drive with signs under C6 code. The country's Ministry of Internal Affairs uses F4 and F5 numbers. The first combination is intended for vehicles, and the second - for trailers. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine has autonomer with the designation of Ch1, C2 and C3.
The border troops of Ukraine for their license plates use Yu, and the final figure denotes the place of deployment of the military unit. For the Society for Promotion of Defense, an alphabetic combination I1 is intended.
In 2007, special car numbers ceased to be used by representatives of power departments. Some of these designations moved to the use of power units. Most reserved license plates can be seen in Kiev, because it is here that all government bodies of Ukraine are located.
Personal (individual) car numbers
At the request of the motorist, it is possible to order individual numbers to the vehicle in the Central or Regional Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (former MREO) or online on the HSC.GOV.ua website. There you can also get detailed information about the order procedure, design, payment and receipt of individual autonomyners.
Changes since 2018
Two years ago, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine approved the State Standard on the autonomer for passenger transport. These changes have completed the existing DSTU 4278: 2012. Now the automotive signs of Kiev are indicated by the letters along with previously approved AA. Rooms from Crimea will be called QC.
Mostly innovations are based on the fact that the first character in the automotive rooms in the regions of Ukraine is replaced by another letter. So, the letter A is substituted to, in N - N, and C - Latin I. Previously, the letter I acted only in Kiev, Poltava and their regions. Today, this letter appeared in the number marks of Cherkassy, \u200b\u200bChernigov, Sevastopol, Chernivtsi and their regions.
Machine owners with old numbers are not necessary to worry. For new cars, they are not required to change their old signs. Below you can see the comparative table of car numbers of the regions - old and new ones. It indicates how exactly the number signs have changed, which lettering is valid today.
We continue the series of articles about car numbers. Today we will touch the license plates introduced in already independent Ukraine. After the collapse of the USSR in Ukraine, the car numbers of the 1959th of 1980s acted. In 1992, the Soviet car license plates of the 1980 sample year continued to be issued for the absence of others: 1) for private machines: on a white background a small letter, four digits separated in the middle of a hyphen and two big letters (abbreviated area name, edges , ASSR); 2) For state-owned on a white background, four digits separated by a hyphen and three large letters (the first two of them are the name of the area).
For example, the emergency medical machine had the following license plate, which spoke about her belonging to any institution (ie, not a private motorist).
The new authorities decided not to be caught and not to compose new numbers, diversify the old adding the decimal letter "І". That same year, another modernized room with a flag of Ukraine and the inscription "UA" appeared. Its structure was the same as the Soviet number, but the encoding of the regions changed somewhat.
In this room, unfortunately, the flag and abbreviation "UA" on the left part of the license plate are no longer distinguishable.
Table with new regions entered in 1992 year, we also give below.

In 1995, state car numbers of the new sample were introduced in Ukraine. In the left part there was a yellow-blue flag, and under it the code of the region, about belonging to what exactly I will join a little lower. This was followed by two digital blocks of 3 and 2 discharge, separated by a hyphen and two large listers, denoting the name of the region (see below).
Although from 1995 he began to issue license plates of this sample, for some time the old "Soviet" rooms could still be issued, which were naturally cheaper, but the intersection of the state border was not allowed to cross them.
Sorting these numbers by region was carried out according to the letter Designation of the area located on the right. According to this sorting, regions were assigned sequence numbers - automotive regions codes. I especially want to emphasize, although only those letter symbols of Cyrillic were used in license plates, which coincide with the Latinian, the sorting of the numbers was carried out at the Cyrillic alphabet.

The following substantial reform occurred in 2004. So the structure of the license plate has become next. In the left part of the license plate was a vertically located rectangle, horizontally separated into two areas of blue and yellow colors. In the "blue square" there is a small coat of arms of Ukraine TRUZUB, made in yellow, in the "yellow" - black color "UA" - the International Automobile Code of Ukraine. Further on a white background, a black color follows two liters, denoting the code of the region, a four-digit number and two more listers. For the rear license plates of some cars, mopeds and motorcycles, almost "square" license plates are allowed, where letters are located on top, and four digits below (in cars and mopeds) or three lines - two letters, four digits and again two letters (at motorcycles ).
I would like to draw your attention to that, although it seems that the numbers are written by Cyrillic symbols, they are still sorted according to the Latin alphabet. Now we have real "bourgeois" rooms.

The last two letters can have any combination, except BP and KM, see the similarity with the Supreme Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers (which took place in the number signs of the previous sample).
Also very remarkable, the city of Kiev was allocated from the overall sorting code of the AA region. Only this is why the Kharkiv region AX code is all selected? Or maybe she was relied on the BP code, which decided to reserve? All this remains a mystery.
Separately I want to join transit numbers. The structure of them is similar, and the main difference is that the "emblem" block on a red background is followed by two digits of the region code (according to the table of the codes of regions of the number marks of the previous sample of the 1995th year or the designation "T1", "T2", which indicates The fact that the number is issued at the manufacturer's enterprise, as they are called the "Terminators" people), two letters denoting the region code (according to the classification of 2004) and four digits. For rear license plates, similar "square" numbers are possible.

Car codes are required to identify the car registration state. Earlier, a sticker was served for this purpose, on which the country code was indicated by capital letters. The distinguishing sign of the country of registration should be attached at the rear of the vehicle near the license plate, and can also be included in the registration number of the vehicle. If the distinguishing mark is included in the registration number, it must also be present on the front ventricle table plate.
A distinctive sign can be complemented by the flag or emblem of the national state or the emblem of the Regional Organization for Economic Integration, which the country belongs. The sign of differences should be displayed in the extreme or extreme right corner of the registration plate. If the registration number is present (flag / emblem, the distinguishing mark must be placed in an extreme left position on the registration plate.
Recently, the country is moving to the definition of belonging signs. For example, in the European Union countries, this code is depicted on the standard car registration number. The sticker in this case is no longer required.
Nevertheless, there were cases (for example, in Germany), when the penalty was discharged for her absence. In order to avoid misunderstandings, even if you do not want to glue it, it is better to carry a sticker with you and glue first-demand.
According to the international convention, the sticker must be made in the form of an ellipse, the main axis of which is horizontal, and letters should be black on a white background.
Data in all tables can be sorted ascending / descending by clicking on the column header.
