How to clean the turntables near the gas stove. How to clean grease from gas stove handles

Sometimes there are some problems with cleaning the handles of the stove, especially if they are embossed and complex in shape, because it is impossible to protect them from contamination. Let's take a look at various methods and tools for making it easier to care for your stove handles.

Cleaning removable handles

It is very simple to find out whether the stove handle is removable or not, or rather the gas supply or burner power regulator knob. It is enough to pull slightly towards yourself. The handle should come off. If this does not happen, the handle is not removable.

For cleaning, remove the handles, put them in any container, fill them with clean warm water, add laundry soap or other means for dissolving fat (for example, Synergetic, Economy-Santry, Shumanit). The water should completely cover the handles. We leave for 20-30 minutes.

Then, using a metal dish brush or a sponge, we remove the dirt. If that's not enough, use baking soda and a toothbrush. This will remove accumulated dirt in hard-to-reach areas of the handle.

After removing all the dirt from the handles, we clean the places where they are installed using baking soda and a toothbrush.

After using cleaning agents, all handles and their places of installation are thoroughly rinsed, wiped and dried before installing in their original place.

Cleaning non-removable handles

Cleaning the non-removable handles is much more difficult, because the non-removable handle cannot be separately soaked in a water solution of soap. Particularly difficult to reach is the gap between the body of the plate and the handle.

For a high-quality performance of such cleaning, it is necessary to apply a pre-prepared solution of any detergent to the surface of the handles. After half an hour, carefully wipe all surfaces and crevices using a kitchen sponge, toothbrush, toothpick, hygiene sticks or cotton pads. When it is difficult to remove pollution, a slurry of soda and ammonia is used. Upon completion of cleaning, thoroughly wipe and dry all parts.

The video presented shows an example of cleaning non-removable handles: in what sequence to do the work, which tools to use, and how to use them correctly.

Folk remedies

As often happens, not at hand the right tool for cleaning, or not satisfied with its price. In such cases, folk remedies that are in no way inferior to industrial chemistry always come to the aid of housewives.

Ammonia. A well-known dirt remover found in every home medicine cabinet. With an aqueous solution of ammonia in a 1: 1 ratio, using a hygienic stick and a cotton swab, wipe all contaminated areas until the dirt is completely removed. Water solution can be replaced ammonia-anise drops.

If you inhale ammonia vapors from ammonia, you can get poisoned, so the cleaning procedure must be carried out in a mask.

Citric acid and baking soda. Freshly squeezed lemon juice is the easiest option. The contaminated surface is treated with a toothbrush dipped in such juice until the solidified fatty deposits are completely removed. If difficult, baking soda is used. The toothbrush is alternately dipped in baking soda and juice to wipe the problem area.

A vinegar solution. The vinegar solution is only used for removable, heavily soiled pens. The removed pens must be dipped into a solution consisting of 0.7 liters of water and 0.2 liters of vinegar. Boil the container with the solution and handles for a quarter of an hour. Remove the handles and allow to cool. Reinstall carefully wiped, dry handles.

Laundry soap. Laundry soap and soap solution very well clean surfaces from old dirt. Grated soap (50g) on a fine grater is mixed with 100 g of boiling water. After the soap is completely dissolved, the removed handles are soaked. They are usually left overnight. Using a sponge and a toothbrush, remove soaked dirt and rinse thoroughly. After complete drying, set in place. Non-removable handles are washed with such a solution, wiped with a sponge and brush until the dirt is completely removed, washed and allowed to dry.

Hygienic wet wipes. The wet wipes are impregnated with camphor oil and citric acid. It is not difficult to wipe the stove switch knobs with these napkins after cooking. The napkin is wound on any stick or without it and the handle is wiped clean.

Wipe down the handles every time you use the stove. The pens will always be clean.

Household chemicals

Industry today produces a huge range of goods household chemicals for cleaning any contamination: gels, pastes, powders, solutions. Regular cleaning, both during and after each preparation, clean hands, use of clean dishes and according to the size of the burners are the ingredients of success in keeping clean and preventing contamination.

Even if you wipe the pens after each use, a general cleaning is required periodically. Indeed, even the ancient Chinese believed that a sparklingly clean cooking area was conducive to maintaining strong family relationships.

In contact with

The most annoying and time consuming part of cleaning the kitchen is perhaps cleaning the stove. If there are practically no difficulties with cleaning the hob, then cleaning the switches on the front panel is much more difficult. But the experience of many housewives has shown that it is possible to clean the handles near the stove not only effectively, but also very quickly. And at the same time, you do not need to spend money on expensive cleaning products - every housewife already has the necessary ones, and in the same kitchen.

Using a soap solution

This method is perfect for removable handles. Concentrated soap solution will help to remove not only stuck and dried food particles, but also the layer of frozen fat. The soap solution is prepared from the dishwashing detergent you are using or from shavings of laundry soap:

Pour into a deep bowl or saucepan hot water, better boiling water;
add 4 tablespoons of dish detergent or soap shavings per liter of water;
stir well to dissolve the product completely;
remove the switches from the stove and lower them into the solution;
leave them in it for a couple of hours to remove.
To clean heavily soiled pens, soak them in soapy water overnight. If the switches need to be cleaned in a short time, place the pot with the handles and the solution on the stove and boil them for 5 minutes, then give them another 20 minutes to soak. After the dirt is soaked, scrub them with an old toothbrush or the hard side of a sponge, rinse and wipe dry.

Using ammonia

The bottle of this liquid is a high-performance, versatile, inexpensive cleaner. Helps rid switches of caked grease and dried dirt as quickly as possible. It is very convenient to clean the fixed handles of a gas or electric stove with ammonia:

Dilute ammonia with water 1: 1;
take a thick cotton swab, dip it in the solution and apply ammonia to the handles;
leave it on the switches for 5 minutes maximum;
rub them over with an old toothbrush over time.
As soon as the handles are clean, collect the soaked dirt with a damp sponge, then wipe the cleaning area first with a damp cloth, then dry. So how to breathe ammonia harmful, follow the safety rules: wear a mask and gloves. To prevent the smell from stagnating in the apartment, work with an open window, and after cleaning, do not close it for some time so that the unpleasant smell disappears.

To clean the detachable switches, place them in a bowl and rub each with a diluted ammonia solution and let sit for 5 minutes. Then rub them with a brush, rinse well and wipe dry.

Vinegar or vinegar essence

The vinegar method is suitable for removable handles of any degree of contamination:

Pour water into a saucepan and fold the handles there;
pour vinegar or vinegar essence into a saucepan at the rate of 6 tbsp. l. vinegar or 2 tbsp. l. essences per liter of water;
cover the pan with a lid and put on fire, simmer for 5-7 minutes.
Drain the water over time and let the switches cool slightly. Then rub them with a toothbrush or a sponge and dishwashing liquid, rinse and wipe dry.

Half a juicy lemon and soda

If the non-removable handles are not very dirty, regular lemon will help. It perfectly removes greasy stains from any surfaces and does not damage them. Soda, on the other hand, will help the dried particles to come off, and also remove the unpleasant smell of stubborn dirt:

Take half a lemon and squeeze the juice out of it;
using a cotton swab, apply it to the switches, rub and leave for an hour;
Over time, dip the bristles of your toothbrush in the baking soda and scrub each handle with it.
Collect any remaining baking soda with a damp sponge and wipe the handles and panel dry. To clean very stubborn dirt, you need to pour two heaped teaspoons of baking soda with the juice of half a lemon. The sizzling mixture must be quickly applied to the handles, rubbed and left for an hour, then rubbed again with a hard sponge.

There is a small space between the panel and the handles where dirt can get caught. To clean such places from dirt, take a toothpick, wrap a cotton swab on the tip and dip it in ammonia. Clean hard-to-reach places, then wrap clean cotton wool on a new toothpick and wipe the places again.

Cleaning the handles of the stove takes a very long time, so in order not to exhaust yourself with unnecessary cleaning, take preventive measures: wipe the handles and the panel every time after cooking.

Regular intensive use of the stove leads to dirt - this cannot be avoided even by the most tidy housewife. And if you put the hob in order - it's a simple matter (for this, many special means), it can be problematic to clean the plastic handles. We will tell you how to do it quickly and without harming the stove.

Types of pollution

Fire controllers are exposed even more often than the hob.

The handles get dirty:

  • splashes of fat when frying;
  • boiling liquids;
  • by the hands of the cook, when there is no time to wash them during the cooking process;

The handles are made of heat-resistant plastic, therefore they are difficult to clean with conventional means - dirt eats into the surface.

To control the stove, two types of handles are used: removable and non-removable. The first type is easier to clean - they can be removed, placed in detergents and held there for a while. With the second type, this will not work.

Cleaning with folk remedies

In the case when a trip to a household chemicals store in the evening was not included in the plans or cleaning in the kitchen must be done quickly, folk remedies will help.

All manipulations with detergents, regardless of the chemical composition, are carried out in rubber gloves.

A simple tool for removing fat deposits is wet hand wipes.

The impregnation, as a rule, contains citric acid and castor oil, which effectively remove dirt. They are enough to remove minor fat spots. After cleaning, wipe the handles with a clean cloth.

Alcohol wipes also have good cleansing properties.

Clean the pens with a solution prepared from 50 g of laundry soap dissolved in 100 ml of boiling water. The soap is pre-rubbed on a fine grater.

  • Removable handles are soaked in the solution overnight - in the morning it will remain to wipe with a soft sponge and rinse under running warm water.
  • Not removable adjusters clean with a hard sponge, an old toothbrush, cotton swabs, toothpicks - any suitable items.

Cleaning ends by wiping the handles with a clean, damp cloth. Before installing the removable parts in place, they are allowed to dry completely.

In addition to laundry soap, it is allowed to use any other types, but with heavy pollution, it is still more effective for household soap.

You can only use vinegar to clean removable handles. The solution is prepared from two tablespoons of the essence and 1 liter of water. The handles are poured with a solution and boiled for 5-7 minutes over low heat, after which they are allowed to cool without removing from the pan or ladle.

After cooling, the parts are washed under running water, dried and wiped dry with a soft cloth. The procedure ends with the installation of the hob on the panel.

In addition to removing impurities, vinegar kills bacteria, removes stubborn unpleasant odors.

Ammonia

The ammonia solution is used for all types of switches - soaking is not carried out.

  1. Ammonia is mixed with water in equal proportions.
  2. The composition is applied to dirt with cotton swabs, sticks, a toothbrush.
  3. After five minutes of exposure, the remaining alcohol is removed with a clean, damp cloth.

The method is convenient for removing dirt in hard-to-reach places - from the bottom and in the places where it is adjacent to the front panel of the plate.

Attention! Inhalation of ammonia can cause poisoning. Do not use this method if you are allergic to the substance.

Almost any dirt can be dissolved by citric acid. It is enough to squeeze the juice of one lemon and apply it with a brush to the dirty surface.

Citric acid powder dissolved in warm water can replace the fruit.

After 2-3 minutes, wipe the juice with a damp cloth. Sticky residues are removed with a baking soda solution.

Baking soda is good for stubborn dirt. With a damp sponge, rub soda into the surface of the handle for 2-3 minutes. After that, the part is washed with a damp cloth. Repeat the procedure if necessary. After cleaning, hands are thoroughly washed with running water.

Mustard eats away fat deposits and disinfects surfaces.

For cleaning, mustard powder is poured onto a slightly damp sponge and the dirty switches are wiped.

The second way is to dilute the powder with warm water and coat the contaminated surface with this paste. The result is achieved quickly - in 7-10 minutes. The remnants of the product are removed with a damp cloth and wiped dry.

The stove is the very first helper in food preparation. It doesn't matter whether it is gas, induction or electric, we use these household appliances every day. During the operation of a popular household appliance, many housewives are wondering how to clean the handles of a gas stove, because it is them that we touch to control the power of the hob. In fact, removing contamination from these regulators is not as easy as it sounds at first. Regular detergent does not dissolve grease, and the sponge itself becomes dirty and sticky when applied, but does not remove dirt from the handles. And what should we do, how to wash the handles of the gas stove? We're going to figure this out right now.

Main varieties

The first thing our hands touch, if we want to turn on the stove, are its handles. At the same time, we do not particularly care about the cleanliness of our hands, we turn on or off the household appliance at any time we need. It is very common for switches to come into contact with grease, dust, water and other contaminants, which, when dry, form an unpleasant film of dirt.

If you notice heavy contamination of the regulators, then before you clean the handles on the gas stove at home, you need to find out whether they are removable or not, and then start washing them. You can determine this by pulling the handle head towards you:

  • If it can be easily removed, then the elements are removable.
  • In the case when the regulator remains in place with the applied effort, you are faced with a monolithic structure.

Important! In order to avoid electric shock, the electric cooker must be disconnected from the mains before cleaning.

Cleaning removable handles:

  1. If the handles are removable on your electric or gas stove, then it will not take much work to clean them of dirt. Remove all switches from the stove and take them to the bathroom. Collect hot water in a basin, and lower there all the objects that you removed from the stove.
  2. To get the desired effect, you will need a variety of detergents. You can use washing powder, laundry soap, dishwashing detergent, or a special grease remover. In hardware stores, you can buy a huge amount of various household chemicals that are designed to clean up greasy dirt. All these tools will be quite effective, but before you clean the handles on the stove from grease, immerse them in the resulting solution for 10-15 minutes.
  3. After a while, remove the switches from the basin, and rinse them out of dirt under a stream of warm water. If dirt gets into hard-to-reach places or small items, you can use an old toothbrush to remove it.
  4. Rinse the switches in clean water, dry, and then they are ready to be installed in their usual place.

Washing fixed handles

Asking the question of how to clean the handles on the gas stove, if they cannot be removed, you need to understand that it will be quite sufficient to clean them superficially, since we cannot get inside the monolithic structure. It is worth noting that it is also very difficult for dirt to penetrate there.

If the regulators are very dirty, then first it is necessary to carry out a mass wash, and only then a spot wash:

  • Treat the handles with stove-top detergent, which you normally use to remove grease deposits on the stove.
  • Let sit for 10 minutes and remove the main layers of dirt.
  • The next step is to spot the handles. Use a toothpick to gently scoop any dirt out of crevices and depressions. With a soft cloth, preferably dipped in detergent, wipe the handles.

Important! For additional disinfection, it will be just fine if the selected cleaning agent contains chlorine.

  • With cotton swabs, you can thoroughly clean difficult areas.
  • After all cleaning procedures, use a clean cloth and plain water to rinse the front panel and handles of the gas stove.

Your hob is now ready for further use again.

Important! In addition to the handles, during cooking, fat gets on the burners and the surface of the stove as a whole. Find out how to clear them by reading the articles on our site:

To do this, you can use a wide variety of special chemical means for cleaning contaminants, which are widely represented in all household chemical stores. Depending on your personal preference, you can choose from a solution, gel or powder.

However, not always a person can use this household chemicals. In some cases, an individual allergic reaction may be present, or the cost of the product may simply not be affordable. In this case, you can use old recipes for removing fat from stove handles. As a rule, funds can be prepared independently from existing stocks in any kitchen. This option will be a real boon for people who prefer to use cleaners without chemicals.

And if someone tells you: “I clean all surfaces in the kitchen using exclusively folk remedies and achieve excellent results,” this is not a fairy tale, but a real truth. Folk remedies at correct use keep the handles of the stove and hob clean and shiny.

How do I clean the removable handles?

If you have a stove with removable handles, you're in luck. The removable adjusters are much easier to clean as they can be turned in any direction to reach even the smallest bumps. And the surface to which they are attached can be cleaned easily and quickly, since nothing will impede free access to them.

First of all, the removable handles must be removed and placed in a container of water. If desired, you can add any grease cleanser to it, wait 10-15 minutes, and wash off the grease and dirt with a sponge with a hard surface.

The easiest and most affordable ways to clean removable handles are to use regular laundry soap and vinegar essence:

  1. 1 Laundry soap. Finely grated laundry soap should be thrown into water and heated to 70-80 ° C. The pens should be placed in hot water and left there for 6-8 hours. After that, all dirt can be easily removed with a sponge, wiping all surfaces with it. The solution should be prepared at the rate of 50 g of soap per 100 ml of water.
  2. 2 Vinegar essence. To prepare it, you need to take 2 tbsp. l. essences and pour into 1 liter of water. In the absence of essence, you can use ordinary table vinegar 9%. Only in this case you will need 200 ml of vinegar and 800 ml of water. The removed pens should be placed in the resulting solution, put the container on fire and bring to a boil. After natural cooling, the regulators must be removed and wiped with a sponge. All dirt will come off very easily.

While the handles are getting wet, you will have the opportunity to clean the surface to which they are attached. This can be done with soda ash or baking soda. You can also use lemon juice or ammonia.

Rubbing the fixed handles

If you have non-removable stove-top adjusters, it will be more difficult to clean and take much longer. First of all, you will need to arm yourself not only with a means for cleaning surfaces from grease, but also with a sponge, toothbrush, cotton swabs and toothpicks. Only with the help of these sharp and thin objects will it be possible to remove all the grease and dirt from the joints, crevices and all other hard-to-reach surfaces of the handles.

Non-removable regulators can be qualitatively cleaned using not only household chemicals, but also the same folk methods. To do this, it is best to use soda ash, lemon or ammonia:

  1. 1 Soda ash. If not, you can use regular baking soda. A sponge moistened with water should be dipped in baking soda and rubbed over the regulators. It is possible that you will have to rub with force, however, if the fat is old, otherwise you will not be able to cope with it.
  2. 2 Ammonium alcohol. Surely it is present in every home medicine cabinet, but in no case should it be used in its pure form. Before use, alcohol must be diluted with water in a 1: 1 ratio. If you wish, you can buy ammonia-anise drops, which have a weaker concentration of ammonia. They can be used without prior dilution. The liquid needs to be applied to the handles, and after 5-7 minutes you can easily wash off old grease.
  3. 3 Lemon juice. In order to properly clean the pens, the juice from half a lemon will be enough. Using a sponge, apply the juice to the regulators and gently scrub off any dirt. If the contamination is too old or extensive, lemon juice alone may not be able to handle it. In this case, you need to additionally use soda, alternating with lemon. Alternatively, you can take 1-2 tbsp. l. soda and extinguish it with lemon juice. After that, apply the mixture to the handles and wipe thoroughly. This combination will successfully help you achieve a completely clean surface.

After washing, all cleaning products should be thoroughly rinsed with water and the handles should be dried dry with a kitchen towel or paper towel.

Alternatively, to prevent contamination, you can use foil, which is designed to protect the hob from grease and dirt. It can be used to wrap the regulators and, in case of any dirt, simply change to a new one. This way you can avoid wasting time cleaning the regulators.

However, this method is not suitable for everyone, as the foil-wrapped handles look rather unaesthetic. And many housewives prefer to wipe all surfaces once again after cooking, and not wrap them with foil.
