Average height in different countries. The growth of men and women: what depends

Human height is the length of the body from the base of the crown to the end of the feet. Growth can be influenced by many factors such as ecology and heredity. Also, height changes with age. In addition, growth can be influenced by belonging to a particular race or nation. For example, the height of Chinese men is 170 centimeters, and the height of women is 160 centimeters, the average grade of Dutch men is 183 centimeters, and women are 170 centimeters. The average height of a man in Russia is 170 centimeters, and of a woman is about 163 centimeters.

How does the human body grow?

A certain hormone is responsible for future growth - growth hormone. In children, adolescents and older people, that is, those who have not yet closed the growth zones in the bones, the hormone causes a pronounced acceleration of growth in length, mainly due to the growth of long tubular bones of the extremities.

Is it possible to increase growth?

The increase in growth occurs either surgically or physiologically. The surgical method is an operational intervention in the human body. With this intervention, the bones of the thighs and lower legs are dissected, then the operated area is lengthened using a special apparatus that helps to lengthen the bones by 1 cm per day. Currently, this apparatus is located only in specialized centers. This surgical method gives positive results at almost any age.

In order to increase the length of the torso, there are special simulators that can be used at home. This method does not require significant material costs and does not pose any threat, unlike surgical intervention. However, if you use this method after the above, you can achieve better results.

Average height of a man

In Russia, 180 cm is considered normal growth, but 100 years ago the height of the male population was only 167 centimeters. This fact indicates that the male population has become less sick. various diseases, which allowed the body to develop normally.

Scientists were able to analyze the average height of men in about 15 European countries. Although the average has only increased by 11 centimeters, there are differences in some countries.

So, the results of scientists. In Sweden, a man's height has increased by 10 centimeters. Was 170 centimeters, became almost 180 centimeters. In Spain, the average has increased by 12 centimeters. Was 163 cm in 1871-1875, became 175 cm in 1971-1975.

And what is the ideal height for a man? In our society, it is considered the norm when a man is taller than a woman, therefore, in order to look harmoniously next to his companion, he must have considerable growth. According to research by the California Institute, the ideal height for a man is 188 cm.

What is the average height of a man in Russia?

There are many young men in Russia who are 180 centimeters tall and taller. However, this figure is not the average value, as many believe.

In the United States of America, in the state of Colorado, an employee of the branch of the Russian-American Independent Statistical Agency managed to find out the following result. The average height of men is 170 centimeters, weight - 83 kilograms.

The average height of a man in Russia in the 18th century ranged from 161 to 163 cm. As you can see, this is quite a bit compared to the modern representatives of the strong half of humanity. The average height of a man in Russia in the 19th century increased slightly and amounted to 169 cm.

Changes in a person's height depending on their age

Average height of a man in Russia by years:

  • After birth, by about the first year of life, children grow by 23 centimeters.
  • By about two years of age, babies add another 10 centimeters in height.
  • By the fourth year of life, the child grows 7.5-8 centimeters.
  • Boys from 5 to 7 years old stretch 5.7 centimeters per year.
  • From 7 to 10 years old, they grow by 4.3 centimeters per year.
  • From 10 to 13 years old - 4.5 centimeters per year.
  • From 13 to 17 years old - 5.1 centimeters per year.
  • From 17 to 19 years old, men stretch 1.5 centimeters per year.
  • At the age of 19-26, men grow by 0.5 centimeters per year. As a rule, after adulthood, men continue their growth if they have had late puberty.

You must soberly understand that a child cannot grow with a ruler. Each individually develops, however, the child should be constantly monitored from an early age by a pediatrician for early detection of any pathologies associated with pituitary hormones.

Few facts about small stature

  • The smallest woman was Pauline Masters, also known as Princess Pauline. The girl was born in 1876. At birth, the baby's height was only 30 centimeters, and by the age of 9 she was 50 centimeters with a weight of 15 kilograms.
  • According to some sources, the smallest midget was Juan de la Cruz from India. The growth of this boy was only 54 centimeters.
  • Some dwarfs became famous for their military work. Swedish king Gustav Adolf had a regiment in his army, which consisted of only dwarfs.

About great growth

  • The tallest man in history is Fedor Makhnov (2.85 meters). Already at the age of eight, the boy had a height of 180 centimeters, he was very strong in physical terms. And the maximum weight that Fedor had recorded was 192 kilograms.
  • Sandy Allen, who starred in Casanova Fellini, was born in 1955 and was 2.32 meters tall. At the same time, she weighed 210 kilograms and wore the 50th shoe size. Despite all the hardships, she remained to the last kind and overflowing with optimism. She died in 2008.
  • In fact, being tall is not necessarily a sign of a disease such as gigantism, which is very severe. People with gigantism have body imbalances. This difference can be seen even with the naked eye.

How can growth change?

  • Over the course of evolution, humanity has become higher and higher. Over the past two hundred years, the stronger sex has stretched by 10 centimeters, and women - by 9.1 centimeters. This phenomenon can be observed in all highly developed countries. The increase in average height is often associated with industrialization, improved quality of life, good nutrition, medical care, and fewer young people doing hard work at a young age.
  • Throughout the day, a person's height can change by 1-2 centimeters, with heavy physical exertion - by 3 centimeters or more. During the day that we spend in an upright position, the intervertebral discs settle, and at night they restore their normal height.
  • For more accurate results, height as well as weight should be measured in the morning.
  • Astronauts who are in a state of weightlessness for a long time can observe an increase in height by 5-8 centimeters. However, this phenomenon is quite dangerous for the body, as the spine loses its strength. After the return of the astronauts to earth, their growth gradually becomes what it was.
  • When measuring height, keep the person on the ground with both heels. If you transfer the weight to one leg, then you can easily stretch your height one more centimeter.

  • Tall people seem to be stronger, more powerful, more successful.
  • Successful people, in turn, appear taller. By the way, the incomes of tall people tend to be higher than those of people with shorter stature.

Scientists have identified the states with the tallest and lowest inhabitants on earth and told what factors affect human growth.
A large-scale study conducted by the scientific community NCD Risk Factor Collaboration with the participation of the World Health Organization (WHO) and Imperial College London, showed that the country with the tallest men in the world (average height - 182.5 cm) is the Netherlands, and the tallest women ( 169.8 cm) live in Latvia. In contrast, the shortest men (159.8 cm on average) were found in East Timor, while women (149.4 cm) were found in Guatemala.
More than 800 scientists took part in the study, which are based on more than 1500 sources, including data from state medical and military research, tracked how the average height of an adult (over 18 years old) changed in 200 countries of the world from 1914 to 2014.

Statistics

As a result, it turned out that at the moment there is a jump in the growth of people: for example, over the past 100 years, the average height of the inhabitants of the Earth has increased by 11 cm.In men it is 177.5 cm, and in women - 164.4 cm. Iranian men, who are on average 16 cm taller, and South Korean women, whose average height increased by 20 cm.

We add that, on average, men around the world turned out to be 12 cm taller than women.

Fully dozens of countries with the tallest men and women look like this:

Countries with the tallest men
1. Netherlands (182.5 cm)
2. Belgium (181.7)
3. Estonia (181.6)
4. Latvia (181.4)
5. Denmark (181.4)
6. Bosnia and Herzegovina (180.9)
7.Croatia (180.8)
8.Serbia (180.6)
9. Czech Republic (180.1)
10. Germany (179.9)

Countries with the tallest women
1. Latvia (169.8 cm)
2. Estonia (168.7)
3. Netherlands (168.7)
4. Czech Republic (168.5)
5. Serbia (167.7)
6. Slovakia (167.5)
7. Denmark (167.2)
8. Lithuania (166.6)
9.Ukraine (166.3)
10. Belarus (166.3)

As you can easily see, Russia did not enter any of the top 10. The growth of Russians has increased over the past 100 years: for example, women have become taller by 11.7 cm (from 153.6 cm in 1914 to 165.3 in 2014), and men - by 9.7 cm (from 167 cm to 176 , 5 cm). However, in the overall ranking, the Russians took only 23rd place, and the Russians did 44th. We also add that Russia turned out to be lower than Belarus (men - 178.4 cm, women - 166.3 cm) and Ukraine (men - 178 cm, women - 166.3 cm).

Is it good to be tall?

After analyzing the data obtained during the study, scientists came to the conclusion that tall people live longer, get sick less often, have a more stable psyche, a good education and high salaries. In addition, a person's growth depends not only on his heredity, but also on living conditions: this, according to experts, explains the fact that people in more prosperous countries are on average higher. However, being tall has its drawbacks: according to one of the study participants, Professor Eliot Riboli from Imperial College London, in some cases it increases the risk of cancer.

Hello dear readers! You know, today we will touch very interesting topic: the average height of a man in Russia. I'll start, as always, with the background.

I grew up in a happy and wealthy family. My mother often played one game with me: when we were just walking, riding the subway, or sitting and looking out the window, she chose one person: it didn't matter if it was a man or a woman.

So, drawing my attention to this person, we began to guess with her: who is he? Where does it work? How old is he? Married or not? What is his height and weight? Bad habits and much more. "What did it give you?" - you ask. The answer is very simple: I began to intuitively understand people, I could immediately compose a psychological portrait of any person.

Over the years, I began to notice that I guessed a lot, often paid attention to things that others did not see, learned to read between the lines. This game helped me a lot in adult life, so I recommend it to everyone.

People all over the planet are very similar to each other, but at the same moment they are different. And salary, social status, it has nothing to do with it. Have you ever wondered why Slavic women are considered the most beautiful in the world? And the most passionate - Italian men? Still, the men of our country should also have something to unite.

Does a person's height play any role in his life?

I’ll say on my own: according to my personal research, I found that men of medium and short stature achieve success more often than tall guys. And the latter are more popular among women. Even if you read the research conducted by the men's gloss Men’s Health. More than 60 thousand guys took part in the experiment and it turned out that growth not only affects the number of partners, but also the quality of the act itself.

Scientists attribute this to evolution. Back in the days when women lived in caves and men hunted mammoths, it was the tall defenders who were popular. They could protect a woman, and get food, and become a protector and support.

An interesting fact: when women are looking for a man on a dating site, they first look at his social status, then at his appearance, and then at his height. But guys should not despair, tall or not, the main thing is to be a decent and worthy person. Probably 😉

V modern world a tall man can be equated with success. Or is it all a big commercial move? What do you think?

Well, for some reason, no one takes pictures of guys of small and medium height at shows or in men's gloss, even in the modeling world, appearance is not so important as height. In my opinion, this is discrimination, as, for example, a guy who is already the last in the ranks of physical education at school will feel.

And it doesn't matter at all , even if he is much smarter than his classmates, he will strive to grow up early, to become more successful and better, those who were the first in the ranks. It seems to me that it is precisely this kind of discrimination that becomes the basis for the fact that then tall guys stand guard, and short ones rule the company, funds, banks, countries.

What is the average height of a man in Russia?

  • The average male height in Russia is 170 cm.
  • The average female height in Russia is 163 centimeters.

But in China, guys with a height of 160 cm were already considered tall, but today these indicators have changed a lot. I don't know what influenced the inhabitants of this country, but today the average height of a Chinese is 172 cm and above, sometimes there are guys with a height of 2m.

I'll tell you one more story on this topic.

I have an acquaintance, she is a very good, decent girl, from a very decent and wealthy family. An excellent student in life: a school with a gold medal, an institute with honors, everything is as it is written in books. And on her own, everything was fine with her, she constantly met with one guy, as long as I remember her, she went with him.

Naturally, we all joked that, they say, let's go, when it’s already a wedding. But the guy was in no hurry to take such an "ideal" girl as his wife. Once we were all resting, and I asked that guy: "What's the matter?"... He answered me that according to genetics, in the family of an ideal girl everyone is short, and he is afraid that children will be born midgets.

Honestly, I was so amazed by his answer, and thought: “How can genetics have such an effect on people's relationships? But what about couples who really have problems? " Of course, as you might have guessed, there was no wedding, he nevertheless proposed to her, and then a month before the wedding he said that he did not want to marry.

Cruel, right? And all because of the small stature. What, in your opinion, is normal height and does it matter so much to you? Share in the comments.

What determines a person's height - a short video:

Pursuit of the ideal

Discussion of the average height of a man in Russia is not so bad.

And what is the optimal average weight for a man?

It seems to me that our life is a constant pursuit of ideals, it is as if many different labels are attached to us, and they see how much we will correspond to them. Reaching out - you're cool, no - you're a loser. It's still good that we are adults and can be aware of ourselves and filter information, but what can we say about schoolchildren?

It seems to me that school psychologists and parents should deal with them. Often the latter forget about their children and try to realize themselves in a career, creative, family plan, but this is not about my mother, who completely devoted herself to the family.

Yes, many will disagree with me, they will say that I am an egoist, but I grew up as a self-sufficient man. There is a sea of complexes in me, but my parents supported me in every possible way, talked to me on equal terms and always helped. So, I was able to survive youthful maximalism, a bunch of teenage problems and become who I am today.

Regarding middleweight, I'll tell you the story of my childhood friend, I think you will like it.

As long as I remember him, he always changed dramatically in terms of weight. Until the age of 20, he was no more than 48 kilograms, friends constantly laughed at him: do not go out when a storm is approaching, it will carry him overseas. But at the same time, with a smart look, everyone encouraged him: nothing, they say, soon you will grow up - you will add weight.

These words have become prophetic.

After the second year of the university, David began to weigh more than 70 kg, and then the girls went, buns - and rushed. Free schedule, own car, life according to the principle of work-rest-sleep-have sex, and friends have already begun to joke differently: “You've become something fat, brother! Like a pig, look at your belly. "... And all these conversations irritated David, and they were incomprehensible to me.

The last straw for David

was a meeting of graduates of our school, ten years after graduation. Constant phrases "Yes, you have completely recovered!" and surprised "well, you and the boar!" literally left him no choice. David decided to take care of himself and find his golden mean. Despite the fact that my trainer is in every possible way against diets, he advised my friend to try sitting on the Ducan, and he jumped at this information. I must say that the diet is pretty good (I never sat on it), but I think the guys will like it: you need to eat meat and plenty of it.

For 60 days, lived in harmony with the planned diet, he threw off 20 kg. Then David acted according to the classical principle: a gym membership, two months of active cardio workouts, then work with weights, with the aim not so much to maximize the muscles, but to make them work and bring them into shape. He continues training today, gets up at 7 in the morning - and forward. And then he walks vigorous all day.

Anyway, his life changed dramatically, he opened himself to the world, began to get carried away, already made 5 jumps, although before he was completely afraid of heights. In a word, no you, or apathy there.

From the point of view of psychology, I can say that my friend just believed in himself and began to live to the fullest. He is no longer surrounded by envious people, he simply does not communicate with half of our former company, he does not listen to their opinions, does not look for disadvantages in himself, but works and works on himself, every day.

Why did I tell you about his life?

It's simple: you will never be ideal for everyone, whether you are tall or short, thin or fat, there will always be people on your way who will "put a spoke in the wheel", instigate, scoff.

All these are obstacles through which you must pass with dignity. Move forward and be worthy people, and believe me, growth does not matter if you are a self-sufficient man.

See you guys soon! Who has not subscribed to the blog yet - I recommend that you do this in order to always be aware of the latest events! Invite your friends and we will discuss interesting topics together ...

And women from Latvia. Today, the average Dutchman is 183 centimeters tall, while the average Latvian woman is 170 centimeters tall.

Researchers, who published their work in the journal eLife, studied changes in the height of people in 187 countries around the world, starting in 1914. It turned out that men from Iran and women from South Korea have the most significant "gains" - on average, their height increased by about 16 and 20 centimeters, respectively.

In the UK, the height of men and women increased by an average of 11 centimeters over the same period. And today average inhabitant Foggy Albion reaches 178 centimeters in height, and the inhabitant is 164 centimeters.

In 1914, Russian men occupied the 35th line of the list of the tallest people, their indicators reached 167 centimeters, TASS reports. In 2014, they "grew" by almost ten centimeters, the average figure today is 176 centimeters. However, despite this, in the modern ranking they dropped to 42nd place compared to other men.

Russian women have grown by about 12 centimeters in 100 years - from 153 to 165 centimeters. And they occupy the 23rd line of the rating, while in 1914 only 53 were content.

Scientists note that the data on the inhabitants of the United States give a significant contrast to the study. There, men and women over the past century have grown by only six and five centimeters, respectively.

Indeed, in the ranking of the tallest people on the planet, US residents have lost their former positions. Back in 1914, they were ranked third among the tallest men on Earth, and women were fourth. Today they got 37th and 42nd places.

It is noted that the list of the tallest inhabitants of the planet is dominated by people living in European countries.

Now let's clarify the situation regarding the "smallest" inhabitants of the planet. The shortest men live in East Timor - their average height is 160 sentiments. And the shortest women live in Guatemala. By the way, similar indicators were observed in 1914. According to scientific work, 100 years ago average woman at the age of 18, there she reached a height of 140 centimeters, today she is no higher than 150 centimeters.

Interestingly, some of the most notable changes in growth occurred in East Asians. People in Japan, China and South Korea are much taller than they were 100 years ago.

“South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh), on the other hand, has seen the smallest change in growth in the past hundred years. Here, the growth has ranged from one to six centimeters,” says one of the study authors James Bentham of Imperial College. London.

In addition, in parts of Black Africa (a group of African countries located south of the Sahara Desert), average growth has declined since the 1970s. For example, in Uganda and Sierra Leone, the decline reaches several centimeters.

Some of the difference in growth around the world can be explained by genetics, but the study authors say the DNA code may not be the dominant one.

Study lead author Majid Ezzati of Imperial College London said in an interview with BBC News: “About a third of the changes can be attributed to genetics, but it does not reveal why the changes have occurred over time. Genes do not change as quickly, and neither do they are changing all over the world at once. "

From this, the scientist concludes that the changes that have occurred over time are largely determined by the environment.

Other studies have shown that being tall can have both positive and negative sides.

Tall people tend to have a longer life expectancy and a lower risk of various heart diseases. On the other hand, scientists have found evidence that taller people are at greater risk of contracting certain cancers - colon, breast, and ovarian.

"One hypothesis is that growth factors can stimulate cell mutation," says Elio Riboli, another study author.

"God, how men were crushed!" - Do you know such an exclamation? Interestingly, does the male population become lower or does it just seem to the ladies who have grown up and climbed on high heels? About what a man of average height is and what exactly is this indicator in the world and in our country, we will talk in the article.

Is height an indicator of sexuality?

Men of average height, probably, with some envy look at tall and therefore such noticeable friends. “Eh, I would have his height! I would have conquered all the beauties! " - something like this they reason. And they are wrong.

In Switzerland, researchers drew attention to the fact that especially pronounced sexuality is inherent in men of precisely average height. Interestingly, the lower the representative of the stronger sex, the higher his libido.

More than 500 men between the ages of 20 and 54 took part in the experiment, as a result of which it was found that everyone whose height did not exceed 170 cm proved to be strong, passionate and gentle partners. By the way, the ladies noticed these qualities almost from the very first minutes of their acquaintance.

Scientists explained this by the fact that a man of average height and below, as a rule, has complexes associated with this indicator, so he tries to prove himself, to establish himself in various areas, which, in particular, includes sex.

Is the growth of a man a guarantee of his success?

In our ancestors, the growth of a man was directly related to his health, strength and ability to feed and protect his family, so there is nothing surprising in the desire of modern ladies to see a tall man next to them. This is primarily due to the basic instinct.

And modern tall men, by the way, have more than just this advantage. They have been shown to generally have a higher average income and are easier to advance in career ladder... Scientists attribute this to high self-esteem and leadership qualities in such people.

It would seem that large in all respects, representatives of the stronger sex should have a lot of children. But no! As Dutch scientists have found out, the most prolific is a man of average height. By the way, he gets married earlier and has his first child earlier. So, despite the love of beautiful ladies for tall partners, for some reason they start a family with a man of average height. You can't argue with statistics!

So what is the average height of a man?

The growth of each of us depends on the combination of 180 genes and, of course, on the lifestyle of the mother who carried the child. And then - and from the lifestyle of the person himself. Once the average height of a European man was 160 cm, and our contemporaries stretched out on average to 176 cm.

Over time, the concept of what is the average height of a man in the world has changed a lot. In knightly armor, which are kept in museums in Rome, now only a teenager can fit. Since the height of these warriors did not exceed 167 cm.

The growth of the European has increased by 11 cm

What exactly affects the number of centimeters from crown to heels for each person? It is no secret to anyone that data on the dependence of growth rates on racial affiliation is not a secret. Asians are short people. Their average height is 165 cm, while Europeans grow up to 178 cm.

But not only genetic inheritance determines these parameters. In prosperous countries than where the economy is. After all, both the quality of food eaten, and their variety, and the lack of the need to work hard, along with developed health care, help a person to become taller. This is probably why, until recently, the average height of a man from America was the largest in the world.

According to the observations of researchers, the body length of the average man has increased by 11 cm since the end of the 19th century - from 167 cm to 178 cm.

War is not a hindrance to growth

But, by the way, despite the proven dependence of growth on living standards, it turned out that during the two world wars and the Great Depression, experienced by mankind, average length people's bodies continued to grow. It would seem that growing poverty, lack of food and hardships should have affected the described indicator, but no, this did not happen. On the contrary, the man of average height was getting taller!

Scientists are trying to explain this phenomenon by the fact that people during such periods tried to have fewer children in the family, which means that the number of eaters decreased and the quality of nutrition came to a relative norm, and the child grew up without hindrance. Although, of course, such arguments do not look convincing. Since food during the war could hardly be brought back to normal. So this fact still remains a mystery, by the way, as well as the increase in the number of boys born before each war.

Perfect growth of partners

But be that as it may, the average height of a European in recent years has increased significantly. In this regard, the perceptions of attractiveness have obviously changed as well.

Researchers from the Netherlands conducted a survey of 50,000 young men and women about what should ideally be the growth of a partner, and at the same time how satisfied they are with their growth. It turned out that women seem especially attractive to men 20 cm taller than them, but the stronger sex will prefer a lady who is not up to their height of only 7.5 cm.

On average, according to the findings of scientists from the University of Groningen, the ideal (that is, desirable for the majority of respondents) average height of a man and a woman in a pair is 190 cm and 175 cm. Yes, high preferences in height!

Growth gap between rich and poor has narrowed

Scrupulous scientists from Great Britain have been trying for thirty years to determine the relationship between material well-being and the anatomical features of each person. They now argue that the average height of a man in the world has increased more in 300 years than in the previous several thousand years. So, they emphasize, such a leap speaks of a direct connection of this indicator with material well-being.

So, 200 years ago, representatives of aristocratic families were taller than commoners. At the beginning of the century before last, for example, a 14-year-old proletarian teenager did not exceed 130 cm, and his peer from a wealthy family was about 25 cm taller. Our contemporaries, rich and poor, are 7 cm, which confirms the general increase in welfare and the level of medicine.

What Average Growth Indicators Say

The conclusion that it is the average population growth that is the most accurate indicator of the health of a nation is, of course, correct, but genetics cannot be discounted. The countries of Africa can hardly be classified as economically prosperous, but at the same time, in Tutsis and Nilots, men stretch up to 185 cm, or even up to 2 m, while pygmies do not grow above 150 cm.

True, in a prosperous Holland, the average height of a man is 188 cm. And the fair sex of this country can hardly be called "inch" - they grow up to 177 cm. In Sweden, Denmark and Norway, these showed only a centimeter less.

What is the height of Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian men

Full confirmation of the idea of a direct connection between the parameters of the average growth of a nation and its economic well-being is also noticeable among representatives of the Slavs, who, by the will of fate, live today in different countries.

So, the growth of an average man, a resident of the USSR, in the 70s was 168 cm.And in the 80s, the male population has already grown by 3 cm.

At the beginning of the market reforms, the average Russian reached about 176 cm. The average height of a man in Ukraine is not very different from him either - he is 175.3 cm.

In 1997, Belarusians were slightly lower. They grew up to 174 cm. But in 2008, according to research by the Department of Anthropology, 18-year-old boys were already 177 cm tall. Studies show that since 1925 this nation has grown by 15 cm, which, you see, is quite good. True, this process of rapid growth, once called acceleration, has already stopped. This is especially noticeable among urban residents, while among rural residents it is still continuing.

The average height of men in Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, as well as in other states, of course, closely depends on many indicators. By the way, it was noticed that this can be connected with the level of education of the mother. After all, it is she who organizes the diet and daily routine of her child, which cannot but affect whether the boy will subsequently be a tall enough man.

The average height of a man is a sign of what?

So, as you probably already understood, the average height of residents of different countries and nations can differ. And this can be facilitated by the influence of many factors:

  • genetics (for example, Asians belong to undersized nations, and Scandinavians have always been distinguished by their high growth);
  • the level of well-being in the state (in successful Japan and China - countries originally inhabited by low residents, growth for recent times increased by almost 12 cm, and the average Japanese is now almost the same height as the American);
  • it is not unimportant whether a specific person lives in the city or in the countryside;
  • how the child was carried and raised by the mother;
  • does a person have chronic diseases, which, by the way, are capable of influencing growth, taking away on average up to 3 cm?

A man of average height in different countries may turn out to be 165 cm and 184 cm in height, while being considered a typical representative of the stronger sex among his fellow citizens, especially not distinguished by this parameter.
