Women's and men's health

In the old days, people believed that an unusual flower can enhance a love spell. Specific magical properties were explained not by the way the herb looks, but by the unusual name.

But if it is difficult to confirm supernatural abilities, then the beneficial properties for women have long been proven. This happens due to the fact that the blood supply in the lower part of the body is significantly improved. This increases blood flow to the ovaries, other organs of the small pelvis.

As a result, the fairer sex is easier to tolerate deviations in terms of gynecological problems, and also successfully cope with menopause, scanty menstruation.

Different instructions provide for treatment by drinking decoctions or douching. Beauties in ancient times resorted to the help of a flower, knowing about its qualities as an aphrodisiac.

It is no less useful for men who suffer from:

  • menopause;
  • decreased craving for sexual activity;
  • impotence.

Grandma's methods often include a useful tool for recovering from alcoholism, or to reduce neurological disorders.

Assistance to other authorities

In addition to the fact that a properly made tincture has significant benefits for women, it also improves the current state of health if the patient is found to have:

  • pyelonephritis;
  • cystitis;
  • glomerulonephritis.

It is important to regularly adhere to the desired dosage in order to save the lower limbs from constant swelling. The course will reduce inflammation in the urinary tract, kidneys.

A proven medicinal approach will positively affect the stabilization of the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. This is expressed in the following signs:

Special Precaution

Benefits and harms in traditional medicine always coexist. Therefore, before using drugs based on this representative of the flora, it is imperative to find out what contraindications it has.

When preparing a fragrant preparation for the winter, you should postpone its reception:

  • during pregnancy;
  • suffering from diseases of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • patients with hemorrhoids.

There are some other atypical contraindications, which the doctor will definitely warn about before prescribing therapy. In this case, everything is based on the fact that plant components increase blood flow to the pelvic organs. Because of this, already heavy periods can harm the body even more.

It should also be avoided in children and adolescents. It is better not to use even light decoctions intended for hair and face without first consulting a doctor.

Another important nuance timely collection of "drafts" is considered. The roots, which were collected before flowering, should not be touched. This applies to all types of further use, including recipes for salting. This is explained by the fact that the unripe root accumulates poisonous elements, which often leads to severe general intoxication.

It is necessary to try to ensure that drying and storage are also carried out according to the rules. If small bugs got into the collected seeds or other parts, or mold settled there, it is better to get rid of the entire portion.

Against alcoholism

Previously, grandmothers were treated for drunkenness with various variations of this inexpressive flower. There is an opinion that a properly welded solution with the right dosage, almost immediately discourages the desire to drink alcoholic beverages. And although traditional medicine recommends caution with such techniques, as well as some dubious recipes for love, people continue to use grandfather's method. Especially in cases where the alcoholic is in no hurry to get rid of addiction on his own.

To achieve the desired effect, peculiar spices are taken exclusively from a fresh plant, which is previously dried a little in the open. It should be the root, which is first washed and then finely chopped. Next, the gruel is poured with a small amount of boiling water (the dosage should be checked with the doctor), insisting for about an hour. At the end, the mass is filtered, and then added to the patient's food. It is important to make the supplement strictly according to the instructions, observing the amount of liquid.

Manifestations of intolerance towards strong drinks will make themselves known almost immediately:

  • spasmolytic pains will appear;
  • vomit.

With the repetition of unpleasant symptoms, a person at a subconscious level begins to feel disgust towards alcohol.

Culinary side of the issue

In addition to being widely used in the practice of healers, lovage was taken into account by enterprising hostesses. This seasoning adds a spicy flavor with a characteristic aroma. The taste of the concentrated supplement is more like celery, perfectly complementing:

  • salty, other preservation;
  • fresh vegetable salads;
  • marinades for meat, fish, poultry.

But you only need to put it in quite a bit, preparing it yourself, and not purchasing a ready-made herbal collection in a pharmacy. Little depends on the variety here, so you can even take an ordinary daredevil.

In cooking, both dry preparations and fresh herbs or seeds are successfully used. Due to the fact that growing and care is not too laborious, many gardeners decide to plant a previously exotic tenant in their own beds. Upon reaching the desired period, its root is dug up, dried, crushed and added to dishes from legumes and seafood. Such a strange, at first glance, combination is explained by an unusual bitterness. But you can start culinary experiments by adding it to the usual meat sauce or sauce.

Some exotic soups also provide an interesting addition along with:

  • thyme.

And producers from the alcoholic beverage industry resort to its help when it is necessary to add flavoring of natural origin.

Usually, diseases and pests do not concern the lovage, so it does not require special treatment for itself. It is easy enough to grow on fertile soil. Planting a plant is allowed even at an atmospheric temperature of five degrees Celsius. Reproduction occurs only by seeds. And if you create a favorable atmosphere for him with temperature regime from 18 to 20 degrees, then the greens will germinate in about ten days.

After the crop is harvested, some of it can be used for lotions that neutralize acne. To do this, you need to take two teaspoons of prepared raw materials, and then pour it with a glass of boiling water. The semi-finished product should be infused for about an hour, after which it is filtered through three layers of gauze.

It is better to take it according to a simple scheme: three times a day half an hour before a meal.

If a person is concerned about heart disease and has not found contraindications, then a simple remedy will help him:

  • forty grams of completely dry roots are poured with a liter of boiling water;
  • the workpiece is moved to a slow fire, where it is cooked for eight minutes;
  • at the end of cooking, it is left to infuse for twenty minutes;
  • the resulting liter is divided into four portions, which are drunk per day;
  • the next day the procedure is repeated.

An identical prescription is used for external use if the patient has experienced hair loss.

There is an excellent solution for those who need to improve the activity of the gastrointestinal tract. Ten grams of dry roots are taken as the basis here, which are poured with a glass of boiling water right in a thermos. The liquid is infused for twenty minutes.

After that, in order not to be bitter, the tea leaves are diluted with warm, adding a spoon to the cup.

Regardless of the purpose for which the lovage will be used, it is important to remember that buying herbal preparations from the hands is strictly prohibited. When self-harvesting, you must carefully follow the safety rules. Only after that, the components can be used for seasoning and medicinal products.

This is a perennial umbrella plant, by the second year it reaches two meters in height and continues to grow into a chic bush. Sometimes it is grown as an element of garden decor, as during the flowering period it is overgrown with chic yellow flowers. Lovage is quite unpretentious in care and maintenance, it does not require a lot of sun or regular fertilizer.

Most often in wild nature it can be found growing at the foot of the mountains or in the lowlands, because it likes dampness. As a rule, in the first year of the life of the bush, only lovage leaves are used as a spice. By the second year, you can dig out the main thing - the root. But experts recommend waiting a couple more years to enhance the taste and medicinal properties.

The root is often used for sugaring. An important rule that will help decorate the taste of familiar dishes with this herb is careful shredding.

Since the lovage stems and leaves of this shrub are not the same in hardness (depending on which part they are cut from), attention should be paid to fine cutting. At the same time, while eating, there will be no discomfort when chewing hard pieces.

The seeds of the plant are also used as a spice. They are pre-dried and used to flavor baked goods. Lovage seeds are added to marinades and pickles and sometimes to fresh salads mostly for decoration.

First, the greens are washed under running water and dried a little, then all the ingredients are mixed with a blender. The sauce is added to soups and various meat dishes.

Lovage - collection and preparation

The collection of the ground part is carried out throughout the summer. The plant is completely torn off, well cleaned and washed from dirt, laid out on a flat surface in one layer and dried. The place is chosen well-ventilated, protected from precipitation and direct sunlight.

If you use electric drying, the temperature should not exceed 60 degrees.

The roots are harvested in late autumn, or in spring, pluck a 3 or more year old plant.

The roots are also dug up, washed from the ground, cut into pieces and dried under a canopy.

Among many herbs, lovage has a strong, pronounced smell and a bitter taste.

Important! The roots are dug up after flowering, before that they contain poison.

Dry raw materials are stored in closed jars for no longer than 2 years. Fresh leaves used in cooking are frozen.

The plant is not whimsical and tolerates frost well. Seeds are sown after the last frost. For fast germination, the required temperature is 20-24 degrees.

I soak the seeds for several hours before sowing, and then dry them, giving them flowability. For quick germination, seeds can be pre-soaked for a short time in a growth stimulator, or in a solution of potassium permanganate.

Seeds are sown in nutritious and moist soil. I choose light soil, in clay substrates, lovage will not grow.

Choose a well-lit or slightly shaded landing site. In the shade, the lovage feels great, but its aroma is slightly lost.

Powerful roots need nutrient soil with neutral acidity pH = 5.5. Acidic soils are not suitable for the plant.

Do not overwater the plant, otherwise root rot will appear.

In autumn, watering is stopped, and the lovage goes into a dormant state. In dry summers, the leaves become smaller and stiffer. Be sure to keep the soil moist and water as needed.

The plant is cultivated for no longer than 5 years, then replaced with young ones, although the lovage can grow in one place for more than 10 years, but over time the leaves become smaller.

Sowing is carried out in rows with a distance of 70-80 cm. After germination, the seedlings in the first year are thinned out with a distance of at least 20 cm, in the second year they are removed after one, and in the third, the distance is increased to 80 cm, allowing powerful roots to grow.

Transplanting: In winter, at the end of February, lovage can be sown at home in a container of 3-4 seeds. After germination, the sprouts dive into separate containers, water moderately and apply mineral complex fertilizers. One sprout is left in one pot. Upon reaching 60 days, usually April-May, seedlings are planted in an open area.

Lovage is quite resistant to attack by pests. If this happens, the affected bush is thrown away. Since the leaves and root are used in cooking, the surface is not treated with insect repellent. If pests affect the entire garden, the plants are removed and planted in a new place.

Frequent root rot - perhaps abundant watering, or close to groundwater.
