Layout of a narrow bedroom. Design of a narrow bedroom - how to make it cozier, layout options

A small bedroom is a common occurrence not only in Khrushchev, but also in new economy class buildings. An unsuccessful option if the room is elongated relative to one side. Designing a narrow bedroom is not an easy task, because a bed is a must, which should look organic there. You also need to fit other furniture, make the room cozy and hide the oblong shape as much as possible so as not to feel cramped.

Designing a narrow sleeping area requires a special approach. You need to act according to the plan:

  • Calculate your financial capabilities.
  • Accurately measure the sides of the bedroom and calculate the total area.
  • Plan out the finishes and colors.
  • Choose furniture and figure out on paper how it should be arranged.
  • Come up with lighting so that the room is neither too dark nor too light.
  • Choose the general direction of the decor.

The ideal option is to draw the layout on paper or recreate it in a special program on a computer. At this stage, the peculiarities of the bedroom should be taken into account.

The balcony can be used as a greenhouse, study, seating area or storage room.

If the bedroom has a balcony or loggia, its owner can consider himself a darling of fate - this is a few meters of usable space that can be used for good. The most common options are:

  • Tear down the separating wall and get additional squares. This design of a narrow bedroom with a balcony looks beautiful, but there are some subtleties here. We'll have to agree on the rework plan with the housing and communal services and with higher authorities (there is always a chance that they will not give permission for demolition).
  • Make an arch in the balcony wall, and insulate the balcony itself. Then here you can organize a small Personal Area, dressing room, recreation area or greenhouse - whatever.

Or you can install heating on the loggia and arrange an additional room there.

On the windowsill, you should arrange flowers, trinkets or organize a desktop.

The interior of a narrow bedroom with one window is more difficult to arrange, but still it has its own plus - a window sill. In a small room, it can be used as a storage space or a small work desk on which a computer or laptop is placed.

A bedroom in a Khrushchev after renovation can look very stylish.

A narrow bedroom in Khrushchev's houses is a frequent occurrence. There is a small storage next to the sleeping room. If you make shelves in it and beautifully arrange boxes for clothes, then you do not need to allocate an area for storing things in the bedroom. This means that the useful area will be freed up.

The layout of the sleeping room implies the right furniture. This could be:

  • Bed. You can't do without it. There are many options: from a narrow small couch or a folding armchair to a chic double bed that takes up the entire space (from wall to wall).
  • Closet. Can choose corner model, narrow shelves on the walls, a tall bookcase or a low small chest of drawers. The main thing is that it fits into the interior.
  • Armchair. Acts as a recreation and accent area. Usually located in the corner. The model should be low, narrow and soft.
  • Table. They are placed in the event that there is no more space in the house (for example, this is a room for a teenage boy, and it is imperative to fit a table in it, at which you can do homework). Furniture is placed in the corner next to the window. Sometimes it is replaced with a window sill.

The less furniture in the bedroom, the better (easier to walk, the room seems more spacious). Therefore, you need to make deliberate decisions on the installation of bulky items. Or use the many tricks that have been invented for this particular case.

It is logical that in a small area it is worth placing furniture that takes up little space. This could be:

  • Built-in wardrobe. A classic solution, especially if the bedroom has a niche for it. It takes up a little useful space, has sliding doors, and you can put all things in it.
  • High bed. Placing a bed under the ceiling is a great solution to double the space. You can put a table, a chair and a wardrobe under it, which just fit there perfectly.

It is also advisable to choose small pieces of furniture. Instead of a large wardrobe - a narrow low bedside table, instead of a wide desktop - a window sill, instead of a chic double bed - an oblong Japanese stove bench that can be placed on the floor.

A piece of furniture that is easy to fold, unfold or turn into a completely different thing is always a success. This could be:

  • Chair-bed. For the day it is folded and left in the corner, and at night it is turned into a narrow ottoman on which you can sleep. This will allow you to free the room during the day and use it as you like: put the table and do work, lay out toys for the child, do exercises, play a musical instrument or even invite guests. The main thing is to choose such a model so that it is easy to unfold, otherwise you can injure your back.
  • Sofa table. This design, when folded, is a sofa. But as soon as you pull the inconspicuous lever, the furniture unfolds and turns into a low couch equipped with a table top.
  • Bed-wardrobe. It looks like an ordinary wardrobe. However, it transforms into a sleeping place. Usually such a model looks good in both versions.
  • Folding table. When folded it is adjacent to the wall, when unfolded it is lowered.

Transformers are usually more expensive than simple furniture, but with just one such piece of furniture, you can furnish an entire bedroom if it is very tiny.

An excellent design move is the clever use of corner space. There are no triangular beds, but there are:

  • Corner wardrobes. They have semicircular shelves, sliding doors and a full range of necessary items (from shelves to small lattice drawers). They look good, they can reach the ceiling and are great space savers.
  • Corner shelves. The same wardrobes, but without doors. They are good at saving space, but things are in plain sight, and they can become covered with dust.
  • Corner tables. Not a bad solution for one person. A small triangular table will not fit several people, but it will be quite comfortable for one to eat or work, especially if you install the lamp on the wall.

It is interesting that you can take up space not from floor to ceiling, but from the ceiling to some mark. Consequently, corner storage systems are placed even in a bedroom where the bed occupies almost the entire area.

Design of a narrow bedroom in Khrushchev 12 sq. m requires a non-standard approach.
If there is a window in one narrow wall and a door in the other, then the furniture should be arranged as follows:

  • The bed is along. In this version, the berth is placed along the long walls in such a way that at least on one side there is a passage of at least 70 cm. They put bedside tables at the head or hang shelves on which you can arrange and unfold things. If there is still a little space, a cabinet is placed at the foot (although, if possible, you should do without it).
  • Bed across. In this case, the furniture for sleeping is moved to the far narrow wall, shelves are hung on one of the free partitions or a corner cabinet is placed.

If there is a window in one narrow wall, and the door is located in a long partition, the bed is placed opposite the window openings.
Basic rules for placing things:

  • do not hang anything above the bed;
  • near the berth there must be a passage on at least one side (and not less than 70 cm);
  • the room always has a logical center - a large piece of furniture around which the rest are distributed;
  • if possible, then the table is placed near the window;
  • in the case when only the bed fits into the room, the storage place can be made not on the shelves, but on the boxes installed under it.

Before buying furniture, you need to make a plan on paper and make sure everything fits in size.

For a small bedroom, light colors are usually chosen, which make it visually larger.

The right colors and textures will perfectly complement well-spaced furniture. The basic principles are as follows:

  • Light colors are better than dark colors. They look refreshing and add spaciousness to the room.
  • Shades must match. It is impossible to choose just the first light tone that comes across, since it is necessary that the interior has pressure, contrast and at least two colors. They can complement each other (for example, you can make a pale blue main, and bright color place accents) or contrast (for example, light orange and blue). To facilitate the selection, it is advisable to use a color ring.
  • Shades should emphasize the natural boundaries of the room. Simply put, walls, floors and ceilings cannot be made in the same tone. Otherwise, the colors will merge, the room will look like a light box.

It should also be borne in mind that glossy surfaces give the room a spacious look - a mirror on the wall has about the same effect. However, the gloss should not be too much, otherwise it will look vulgar. You can make, for example, smooth stretch ceiling, and cover the rest with matte materials.
Examples of color combinations can be as follows:

  • One tone plus accent. This combination is considered a classic. The main shade can be any (for example, pale blue, white, light yellow or peach). The accent should match it. They will highlight the details of the interior (for example, a carpet, a bedspread, curtains or a picture hanging on the wall).
  • Contrasting colors. One tone plus its opposite works the same as color and accent, but the combination looks more vibrant, tense and energetic. It is important not to overdo it, otherwise the room will seem colorful.

In fact, any design for a narrow long bedroom should include this color confrontation, no matter how many shades there are. The only possible exception is carefully selected matching colors (no more than 5).

Lighting and lighting issues

Proper lighting will complement the interior, because without it, even a well-furnished and painted room will seem small and uncomfortable. There are several options you can use:

  • Chandelier. Photo of the design of a narrow bedroom 5 x 2.5 meters or 3 x 4 square meters. m show that in such a small room, one chandelier on the ceiling may be enough. It should be decorated in accordance with the style, it is better to choose yellow light (it is pleasing to the eyes and does not cause irritation).
  • Sconce. 2 wall lamps are enough, they can make the necessary accent. So, the design is classic, in which the sconces are hung at the head of the bed, emphasizing the symmetry of the layout.
  • Floor lamp. It makes sense to use it only if the room has a seating area - an armchair, a shelf with books. In a different setting, the floor lamp will knock out.
  • Spot illumination. Can successfully replace a chandelier, provides accents (eg a row of lamps that look like spotlights, lighting along the edge of shelves, a small lamp in the closet). This design looks great in high-tech and loft styles.
  • Table lamp. One is not used, but it can be a beautiful accessory if you choose a pretty lampshade and put the lamp on your bedside table.

The light should be abundant, but at the same time warm and diffused. Otherwise, the bedroom will look more like a surgery room than a place to relax after a hard day.

For lighting, you can use both a traditional chandelier and modern lamps.

Choosing a bedroom design

In the case when, after careful step-by-step planning, there are still questions (for example, it is not clear which colors are better to choose, or it seems that lighting with furniture could be combined better), you can always consider this or that style. For a design in a Khrushchev with a narrow room with a window at the end, the following may be suitable:

  • Minimalism. This modern style was created in order to decorate small rooms. The colors are light, in the decoration - any materials, from the decor - only the necessary textiles, furniture - necessarily functional. Minimalist décor can consist of one bed with a colored bedspread and a flowerpot on the windowsill.
  • Scandinavian style. Something close to minimalism, but with nuances. Decor - natural materials, more wood. The colors are light with a bias towards blue. From the decor - roller blinds, a patchwork quilt, a carpet on the floor. You can add a seascape painting to the wall.
  • Loft. Enough original solution... The colors are light, the ceiling must be whitewashed, the walls must be covered with plaster and bricks, the floor must be covered with laminate or concrete screed... All furniture - with iron elements, curtains - roller blinds (or better without them at all), as lighting - spots (small lamps, similar to spotlights). Be sure to make intricate graffiti on the wall in bright colors.
  • Boho. An unusual style that came from the gypsies. Very suitable for a small bedroom. The colors are bright, but not necessarily combined (it is better to stick to a relatively restrained palette of green and brown), a lot of textiles (bedspread, carpet, curtains). A lot of accessories are needed - a dream catcher hanging from the ceiling, a soft beanbag chair, pillows on the bed, pictures in intricate frames on the walls, incense sticks in a vase. Everything here should talk about comfort. Not suitable for perfectionists.
  • Provence. French classics. The colors are light, warm. The ceilings must be whitewashed, wallpaper with flowers must be glued on the walls, laminate or parquet must be placed on the floor. Textiles are required - carpet, bedspread. Forged elements are important - an intricate iron headboard by the bed or curved legs by the chair. On the windows there are light curtains made of tulle, a bunch of flowers in a vase is welcome. You can hang landscapes of France or photos of your loved ones on the wall.
  • Japanese eco-style. Great for a small bedroom. The colors are light, natural. The ceiling needs to be whitewashed or trimmed with wood, the walls should be covered with paper-like wallpaper or painted in yellow... Instead of a bed - a couch on a low podium, and working area need to be fenced off with a screen with dancing cranes. Hang a roller blind made of bamboo on the windows, lampshades on the lamps - orange, made of paper, with the obligatory hieroglyphs. Buddha figurines look good.

For inspiration, you can choose any style from the existing ones, not just the ones listed above.

The style can be anything: even a sloppy, variegated boho will look organic if properly designed.

Narrow bedroom decor

Many different ways clearance:

  • Tile. By itself, it does not fit much anywhere, but if you buy a novelty (one that changes color from touch), then you can fit it into the interior as a decoration. It is advisable to make a patterned panel or mosaic.
  • Photo wallpaper. Visually expand the space. It is better to choose a landscape with oaks or birches, with waterfalls or the sea. You can purchase an interesting abstraction or geometric pattern, where square elements will be woven with other shapes.
  • Mirror. It should be large and effective, expanding the space. Ideal length to ceiling with interesting elements(like laser engraving).
  • Graffiti. A new trend in the interior. You can do it yourself, hire an artist, buy a stencil or a finished drawing. The main thing is that it fits the general style and mood, and what will be depicted on it - tightly closed rows of panel buildings, rectangular patterns, play of colors, real people, sheep with short legs, two lovers or perfect abstract harmony with the pacific in the middle - it doesn't matter.
  • Textile. A bedspread on the floor, pillows, curtains, knitted napkins - a couple of elements will be appropriate in any style.
  • Trinkets. Framed photos, ceramic and porcelain figurines, candles, toys, dishes - everything that the owner likes is appropriate that does not stand out from the general composition of the style. In boho, for example, you can fit all this and even more, but in minimalism, only fresh flowers are allowed.

The decor can include any elements.

The decor is the finishing touch that will give design idea finished look.
Any, even the smallest and most elongated bedroom can be stylish, beautiful and cozy. Feel free to experiment with different styles and colors.

Designers often jokingly call a narrow room a "carriage". Of course, everyone dreams of spacious apartments, which have a place to roam. Reality presents us with surprises in the form of small narrow rooms without the possibility of redevelopment or demolition of walls. Do not despair! Useful tricks will help make the room more harmonious and spacious (at least visually)!

The main secrets of narrow room design

1. Colors and textures

Make friends with light shades - beige, gray, lavender, white, light blue. They can paint long walls, and make short ones more saturated and bright. On an accent short wall, horizontal ornaments (especially a strip) look great - they visually make the room wider. Partially, this decor can "drive" on the next wall.

Interesting! The ceiling can be made darker than the walls - it also slightly corrects the boundaries of the room. Cross dark wooden beams on a light background look very stylish!

Avoid large drawings! Focus on unusual textures: fake diamond, 3D panels, Venetian plaster! In most cases, a dark floor is "contraindicated" for narrow rooms, flooring choose light too!

2. Perspective

Your task is to visually distance the walls from each other. Pictures and wallpapers with perspective are perfect for these purposes. The best choice is urban or natural landscapes. For the window, you can also choose curtains with a 3D print - they not only look beautiful, but also create the illusion of space.

3. Mirrors and shiny surfaces

The design of a narrow room is not complete without glossy textures. If it is not possible to hang a large mirror all over the wall, you can use mirror and glass inserts and shelves. Glossy ceiling and lacquered furniture will also give the desired effect.

4. Niches

They can be done on both short and long walls. They neutralize the effect of the tunnel and make the room more comfortable. Niches near the sofa, TV, headboard look great!

5. Zoning space

You probably already realized that stationary partitions and cabinets for the ceiling can completely disfigure the space. For zoning a narrow room, it is better to use podiums, contrasting flooring and mobile screens and partitions. It is convenient to partition the living room by placing a sofa, a couple of armchairs or a transparent rack across the room!

6. Play of light and lighting

A room with a lot of light always seems more spacious than a dark and uncomfortable "carriage". It is better to do without heavy curtains and drapes. Roller blinds and roman blinds, light tulle, blinds - the best choice for narrow spaces. Artificial lighting should also be multi-level: the main light source (chandelier, lamp), spot lighting, sconces. Along the perimeter of the ceiling, you can run an LED strip - it creates a special "floating" effect and visually expands the boundaries of the room.

7. Bright accessories

Bright cushions, large vases or plants are color spots that bring the space to life. But there shouldn't be too many of them! The abundance of figurines, photographs and souvenirs only clutters up the room!

8. Unusual furniture

A standard rectangular sofa looks ordinary and boring. Choose original furniture. Hanging chairs, frameless poufs, round beds! They not only look interesting, but also visually make the room wider due to the lack of sharp corners! By the way, transforming furniture is also very relevant!

9. Built-in constructions

Practical and space-saving. For example, if you place cabinets and shelves around the headboard, you will get a spacious storage niche and visually expand the space.

Advice! Use a windowsill - it can serve as a seating area and storage for things.

10. Asymmetry

The chandelier does not have to be clearly in the center of the ceiling, and the TV is two steps from the sofa. The typical layout of furniture in a narrow room spoils everything. Use the walls and ceiling more actively, and there should be a minimum of objects on the floor! A floor lamp can be replaced with a stylish recessed lamp, and a bulky chest of drawers can be replaced with lightweight shelves on the wall!

How to arrange furniture correctly in a narrow room?

A sofa or wardrobe can be located against a short wall - this way you can visually give the room a square shape. Other pieces of furniture can be arranged with the letter P or G. Try to avoid massive furniture: large corner sofa appropriate in a square room, but not in a room where every centimeter of width is valuable. Put the table, armchair, ottomans, benches at an angle! It is unusual and beautiful!

Important! Don't try to outsmart yourself! If you arrange furniture in a zigzag pattern, it will be unusual, but also extremely impractical. You run the risk of earning yourself a lot of bruises and abrasions by avoiding obstacles!

Storage places - niches, open shelves, consoles, podiums. But the Soviet "wall" along long wall- not the best solution!

Experiment and do not be afraid to create a space "for yourself", then the room will look individual and not a faceless hotel room!

When the bedroom is tiny and long, try to split it into 2 areas using the furniture you plan to place. This includes: a bedside table, a counter, a bed, or chairs. A curtain or a thin partition made of lightweight material is used quite successfully. Zoning the site allows you to arrange objects, makes the room more convenient. Don't forget to consider the ceiling.

Do not be afraid to find unique solutions for arranging a tiny bedroom just 2 x 5 meters.

Be sure to decorate the window with horizontal striped curtains, which will visually alienate the wall.

To equip a bedroom, you should take into account the scale of the room, comparing them with the real dimensions of the furniture.

When a small bedroom is complemented by high ceilings, take advantage of this superiority, a bunk bed will be the best option.

It is better to install a mirror along the wall, which will visually increase the distance, you can put a chest of drawers.

Clear shades decorate bedroom walls better, but only in small apartments.

The main condition for the favorable distribution of the interior decoration is the position of the bed. How to install a bed in a living room? Today, rooms with a window on the wall are often found. To choose the interior of such a narrow bedroom, consider the position of the bed. The bed needs to be taken standard size, try to pick up extremely small modifications in the store. Don't buy a very expensive, large bed for a tiny bedroom. It will be better to place it along the long wall opposite the window.

If the room is small, divide it into 2 parts by closing it with a thin curtain.

Room zoning important point, arrange the furniture so that the room is comfortable and cozy

Use tricks to visually enlarge the room

Long and narrow bedroom: design secrets

Cool colors visually move the walls of the sleeping place, and warm ones bring them closer. This method of selecting wallpaper for a living room will definitely come in handy. We will offer some interesting color solutions.

Small walls of the bedroom must be pasted over or painted with bright orange, red, yellowish.

Long walls need to be repainted dull greenish, purple, azure or snow-white.

For a well-lit room, use clear colors.

Use bright trellises along the long wall of a narrow, crisp white bedroom.

This bedroom interior visually increases the space. The room will look the most square. The same result is achieved with horizontal stripes on the walls. The snow-white color of the walls, which is mixed with rich wallpaper behind the bed, is considered very attractive. Vertical stripes, lots of patterns, and black colors in a room are unacceptable. Along the diagonal of the room, you can make a floor covering with a horizontal image and add a rug near the bed, which will visually enlarge the bedroom.

Use light shades, this will visually expand the room.

Wallpaper or paint is perfect for wall decoration.

Using space wisely

When some objects in the room cannot be placed properly, do detailed drawing... After that, it remains only to compare the dimensions of the bedroom on paper with the real ones.

A large wardrobe looks best along the vertical wall of a room, and a dressing table can be connected to a bedside table.

Instead of a huge bed, you can use a small sofa.

Place the shelves behind your back, at a short distance from the bed. Do not place the bed against a long wall and then clutter it with the remaining furniture.

If this bedroom is a child, it is very inconvenient to play here. Experts in such conditions advise leaving objects in the back of the room, in this way more space is achieved. Use P-placement, which comes in handy here.

Make the most of your free space

Take care of good lighting, this plays an important role

Do not block the room with unnecessary things, use everything you need

Ways to decorate a narrow bedroom

First, you should divide the bedroom into several parts - a bedroom, a dressing room. It is advisable to divide the interior of the bedroom with a border, a fence or a rack covered with wallpaper. Mirrors, weaving fabrics, cushions noticeably transform the room, increasing its volume. To increase the limited living space of rooms, use a panel mirror above the bed. Instead, it is possible to supply shiny panels with a sparkling surface. If possible, place the bed along the long wall of the bedroom.

Provencal-style wallpaper looks good - a clear, light and pure bedroom color. When you want something more modern, take a look at the decoration of the bedroom in the genre of "pop art", but the style of "modernism", when designing a bedroom, will be very useful. The limited space of the room requires a combination of a number of colors and wallpapers. Artists advise to decorate short walls with light brown, yellowish, brown shades, which visually bring the wall closer, and decorate adjacent walls with cool tones.

A wardrobe on a long wall will only increase the feeling of being closed. It is best to attach it to the short side, then the room will seem less elongated. If there is a window at the end, then the cabinet can be moved to another corner or near front door the letter "P". The mirror can be hung on the long side.

If possible, place the bed along the long wall of the bedroom.

Split the room into multiple functional areas

Let's start the project of finishing the planes: floors, walls, ceiling. We denote color palette... We use the rule: if the windows face north, use a hot palette, south - a cool one. The more natural the materials used, the less emissions will be in the atmosphere. Clear tones, soft opaque textures of wallpaper and ceilings will contribute to better health. Warm and cold palette visually enhances the interior space.

Additional partitions shorten the length of the room due to the formation of additional sections. This type of setting, together with the proper arrangement of furniture, can completely free up space from the compressive walls.

Color in the bedroom plays an important role

Large mirrors visually enlarge the room

Use only quality materials

Long bedroom interior: options for the play and work area

Here are some examples:

Install the bed along the long wall of the bedroom

To avoid mistakes, draw a plan in advance.

Study

Today, many people prefer to work from home, and the main problem remains to convert the room into a personal account. The favorable position of the bed and other things in the room is considered the main task to unite the bedroom and office.

It is best to sit by the window of the room, back to the sleeping area, so that there is enough light. Another advantage of this separation is the spaciousness of the bedroom. Thus, after work, you can easily change position and get to bed.

Distribution of the desktop along the long wall of the bedroom, if it is not possible to install the bed near the window. This method saves space significantly.

Installing a dressing table near the bed, along the curbstone is comfortable only in a narrow bedroom.

A desk in the corner of the bedroom offers many options for furnishing different rooms... Do not forget that today you can find bedroom furniture with a built-in table. The cabinet will become available only during the day, and then the cabinet doors can be closed, which will completely hide the working area.

An excellent solution to move the office to the veranda closest to the living room. A tabletop or a window sill is very useful here.

In the bedroom, lamps with a calming and subtle shade near the bed look best. Experts recommend hanging spotlights on the left side of a long wall. Dynamic, azure, snow-white and fluorescent lamps are very useful here. Distributing lighting fixtures around the perimeter of the room will provide a great view.

In the bedroom you can make a study

Try to make the design of the room harmonious

White will be able to visually expand the room

Children's long room options

When children appear in the family, parents decide to make a room with a crib in one small bedroom. Most of the apartments on "Khrushchevka" have an area of no more than 18 square meters. We'll have to learn the most interesting design tricks in order to equip one room for a mother and a child.

The most important factor is the security of such a bedroom. You will have to calculate part of the room for the baby's crib, dressing table, lamp, adult bed, closet. Remember a few rules for the interior of a narrow bedroom, which must be strictly observed.

In bedrooms with a window, a baby's bed should not be placed near the windowsill, because drafts can periodically occur, and dust quickly accumulates on the curtains. There is also a draft near the door to the room, and she can clap loudly. If otherwise the crib does not fit, install an insulated barrier in front of it.

The cover made of special fabric above the bed looks perfect. When hanging such a decoration in the bedroom, give preference to a dust-repellent material, which should be washed regularly with an antistatic agent.

When the door of the room is on the side of a long wall, then it is best to leave the crib in the corner so that extraneous sounds do not bother you.

Furniture corners must be secured with specialized overlays.

Bedroom closets shouldn't be a hindrance when opening doors.

The racks should be hung away from the bed so that books, figurines and other objects do not fall on the child's bed.

The light of the TV monitor should not impede the fumes. Hide the shining screen from the crib for good.

Luminaires must be hung in a straight line, regardless of the design. It is recommended to connect a special switch that regulates the saturation of the room lighting.

Use only natural materials that are not harmful to health in the room.

Use only the essentials in the room

You should first eliminate all outlets that may not be needed at all in the bedroom. They attract children very well, which means they need to be made inaccessible. Any pulsating objects in the living room should be inaccessible to the child and care must be taken to place them in advance. Do not forget to remove all figurines of artificial origin: vases, glasses, which concentrate dust formation and can break.

In addition to the main lighting, the bedroom should contain a night light next to the bed, but conventional lamps are not suitable here. The weak light is not at all annoying and it only becomes easier to rest. Many children preschool age with him they will not be afraid of the dark, and father and mother will be able to make out all the necessary things. In a children's bedroom, you can very cheaply and easily make backlighting with LEDs, and in an adult's, with spotlights. If you add a mirror panel above the bed here, it will make the room clearer.

If there is a child in the house, make the sockets inaccessible to him.

It is advisable to install a switch in the room to control lighting

LED ceiling lighting will look very nice

A small bedroom in the Scandinavian genre will seem very spacious with some tricks. It will not be difficult to achieve the desired result, and it is important not to make unnecessary mistakes, which in the future can spoil the feeling of comfort.

Insufficient soundproofing of a room can harm the feeling of privacy and privacy.

It is preferable to choose curtains in the bedroom from strong materials that prevent direct sunlight.

Clear hues and good lighting expand the area, but strong lighting is not recommended for a bed where you only plan to rest in the evening. Bright and multi-colored shades in a room can cause a completely opposite state of mind. Black bedroom also doesn't fit.

There is no special place to leave your own belongings. When a wardrobe is not installed, you need to take care of the safety of your property in the living room, and therefore make the redevelopment differently. Too much mess in the bedroom will only irritate you.

Regardless of the season, you absolutely don't want to walk on the cool parquet floor, and the reason for this is the cold voids. You can eliminate this drawback by spreading plastic rugs near the bed.

The poor position of the bed against the long wall of the room reduces the size of the bedroom, which means that the size of the furniture and the scale of the building must be taken into account.

Take care of good noise isolation in the bedroom

Light shades and bright light can visually increase the size of the room

Renovation in your own bedroom is considered the most important step in the formation of comfort throughout the house. Your daily well-being will depend on the distribution of furniture with a bed.

Hello everybody!

Every designer has come across uncomfortable typical layouts at least once, one of the most common is an elongated small room in a Khrushchev building. They are also called "carriages". Usually a bedroom or a nursery is placed in this room. I'll tell you about one of these rooms today.

Narrow bedroom design is always headache, especially if the width of the room is less than two and a half meters. In this project, it was necessary to arrange a full-fledged bed and solve the problem of storing books. I also wanted to keep free passage to the window, because it has a wonderful view of the pond (perhaps the main advantage of this bedroom). The consultation was provided remotely, the client does not live in Izhevsk.

Nikolay, that is the name of the master of the bedroom, did not send any photos of the interiors he liked. He simply described in the application form that he likes light beige interiors, can be a little brighter, but not dark, would not like to see yellow and does not like classics, prefers something more modern. The budget for everything about everything is 60,000 rubles.

And here is the bedroom itself for which I had to think about a transformation plan:

BTI plan for the room:
First you had to decide where to put the bed? As mentioned above, this layout is truly a headache when placing a bed.

There are only three bed placement options:

  1. Just across the room;
  2. Across the room by the window;
  3. Along the wall.

Consider our options:

If you take a standard bed 2 meters long and put it across the room, then with a width of 2.45 there is only 45 centimeters of passage from the wall. Agree, not a lot. But the bed is not 2 meters long, it is only the length of the mattress, the bed together with the base is usually 8-15 cm longer, i.e. we get a passage from the wall less than 40 cm, this is no longer good at all, not an elf will walk around the room, but an adult man.

The option of placing the bed across the room by the window disappeared, because it is necessary to leave a free passage to the window, and the air conditioner to the right of the window did not speak in favor of this option. Sleeping place I wanted a full, normal bed, 140 cm wide. And, which is quite rare in our times, it is not planned to place a TV in the bedroom.

Put the bed along the wall? Not the most the best option, of course, but at least it is convenient to approach the bed, the passage between the bed and the wall is about a meter and it is comfortable to walk around the room, there is free access to the window. A low rack will be placed near the headboard, books will be stored in it and the upper horizontal surface can be used as a bedside table.

The next step is choosing a style. As an inspiration, I took Scandinavian interiors and contemporary interiors. They are ideal for decorating a men's bedroom.

Nikolay agreed, approving the photos proposed for the quality of interior samples the first time. We decided on the style, then the most interesting thing was to pick up the furniture and everything else. To fit into the budget, and I will remind you of 60,000 rubles, we revised what we already have and what can be used in the new interior.

Decided to leave:

  • bamboo roller blind
  • ball shaped paper chandelier
  • black table lamp
  • beige high pile carpet
  • sliding wardrobe in bleached oak color

All these items (except for the closet) can be seen in the photo of the room before the alteration. On the walls of the room, wallpaper painted with a neutral light color paint - let's leave it that way.

The final design solution for this narrow bedroom is as follows:

The total amount of recommended furniture, textiles and decor items for Nikolai was 40,030 rubles. I had to take into account that the actual amount will be 10-20% higher, because in Votkinsk, the city where he lives, there is no IKEA and it is impossible to buy their products directly. I already said in, but let me remind you again, the final shopping list that the client receives at the end of the Quick Design project looks like a big boring table with SKUs, links, notes and amounts. For blog readers, I present the result in a more visual form:

PS prices indicated in the article are valid for autumn 2015.

As you can see, the fact that Nikolai and I live in different cities did not stop us from working on the bedroom project at all.
