What is the best door to the bathroom. Which door to put in the bathroom: types, materials and standard sizes

Doors for bathroom and toilet differ from those that are installed for other rooms. They need to be practical and at the same time fit in with the whole house. Before buying doors, check out tips on how to choose the right one.

Criteria for choosing a door for bathroom and toilet

Regardless of whether it is separate or separate, you need to carefully approach the decision of the issue of buying a door for a bathroom and toilet. How to choose not to have to change after a few years? First, you should take into account the specifics of the rooms. Doors for them must be resistant to moisture, moisture and steam. Because of this feature, the fittings (hinges, handles, latches) must be more durable than in other interior designs.

The doors for the bathroom are more difficult to choose than for other rooms. After all, such doors must be durable, soundproof and resistant to moisture.

If there is a hood in the room, and it works properly, there should be no problems with humidity. However, take into account how often and for how long you plan to use the bathroom. This largely depends on the number of family members. Also, when choosing a door structure, consider the size of the rooms and how the plumbing is located in them. It is important that the doors are good at isolating sounds and keeping warm.

What material to give preference

Most of the manufacturers interior doors use:

  • wood (including MDF, chipboard and veneer);
  • glass;
  • plastic.

Sliding doors from natural wood

Wood

The peculiarity of wood doors is that they can "breathe": absorb and release moisture. In the bathroom, this process can be especially noticeable - the doors swell. To prevent this from happening, you need to regularly paint them or open them with varnish. Antiseptic treatment will not be superfluous. Wood collapses when splashed with water. Therefore, such doors are not suitable for small rooms.

Council. So that the door frame does not lurch over time, it should be securely fixed initially. Use anchor bolts and polyurethane foam for this.

The advantages of wooden doors include:

  • they look noble and create coziness in the apartment;
  • are made of high quality material (usually oak or beech);
  • at proper care, with the use of an antiseptic and varnish, can serve for a long time.

Doors made of natural wood, although expensive, are very beautiful and durable

Cons of wood products:

  • are very expensive;
  • due to high humidity, they are often covered with cracks, which forces the owners to periodically restore them;
  • caring for them is very expensive.

Chipboard, MDF, veneer and laminate.

The first two materials are pressed wood boards, and veneer is a thin sheet of wood cut in a special way. They are very common in the manufacture of doors. But nevertheless, experts warn about the fragility of such structures when it comes to installing them in a toilet or bathroom. According to the owners, doors made of these materials swell rather quickly and cease to close normally, in addition, they are unstable to strong impacts.

Laminated doors

The advantages of wood-based panels include their low cost. They fit well into the interior of the entire room. However, the instability to high humidity is the main disadvantage of the installation in the bathroom. The same applies to natural veneer doors. They look like real wood, but they serve much less.

Laminated doors are also among the budget options “woodgrain”. These are the same MDF constructions, but covered with a laminate - a special film. It protects the door from moisture, is easy to clean, is inexpensive, and has a wide variety of patterns.

Laminated doors fail pretty quickly

However, there are many disadvantages to such a door:

  • low level of sound insulation;
  • impossibility of restoration (in case of serious damage, it will need to be replaced);
  • external unpresentability (they look very simple).

Attention: Doors made of MDF, chipboard and veneer contain formaldehyde, which can cause individual allergic reactions.

Glass

For doors to the bathroom and toilet, manufacturers use a particularly durable material that is difficult to break.

Glass doors, despite the external fragility, are quite durable

Other advantages of these designs are as follows:

  • resistance to moisture;
  • good sound insulation;
  • environmental friendliness;
  • ability to keep warm;
  • variety of models;
  • external attractiveness;
  • thanks to glass, the room visually increases.

Glass doors are very beautiful but require careful maintenance.

disadvantages glass doors for a bathroom:

  • settling of condensate, which leaves streaks on the glass;
  • frequent care (it is necessary to regularly wipe the glass to give it a neat look);
  • high price.

Council. Despite the strength of glass for a bathroom, in a house with small children it is better to additionally cover it with an impact-resistant film.

Various types of plastic

This material is well suited for wet rooms. A plastic door is cheaper than a glass one, but it also has many advantages:

  • not afraid of exposure to water and steam;
  • lasts long enough;
  • retains heat well and isolates noise;
  • has many finishes;
  • hygienic;
  • easy to clean.

Plastic doors

The disadvantages include the rapid deformation of such doors in the event of a heavy load on them. With this in mind, manufacturers produce more durable designs. They are equipped with special inserts that reinforce the product (increase strength), or are made on an aluminum base. There are such metal plastic doors more expensive than usual.

The main types of door designs

Design of doors for toilet and bathroom

When choosing a door structure for a bathroom, you need to pay attention to how harmoniously it will fit into the interior. For example, laminate doors are almost identical in design. This can be useful if you plan to install them in all rooms. Manufacturers often decorate such structures like stone or wood.

Plastic products are distinguished by a wide variety of palette. This allows you to choose the desired color of the door, combining it with the rest of the apartment or house. However, perhaps most of all designers pay attention to glass. Doors from it are made opaque, decorating them:

Diverse design of bathroom and toilet doors

  • stained glass paints or multi-colored glass;
  • gold and silver paints, creating a dusting;
  • sandblasting materials, etc.

In addition, glass doors are matte, mirrored, embossed. Often they are complemented by inserts made of wood, metal or plastic.

  1. Often, toilet and bathroom doors are smaller than other designs. This is due to the fact that a low sill is usually placed at the entrance to the bathroom. It will be useful to make careful measurements before buying.
  2. A ventilation grill can be installed in a wooden or plastic bathroom door. This solution is suitable for rooms that do not have natural ventilation.
  3. When installing sliding doors, additionally use insulating gaskets.

How to choose doors to the bathroom and toilet: video

Doors for bathroom and toilet: photo

Bathroom and toilet are premises with a characteristic microclimate. High humidity, temperature drops are factors that adversely affect the interior door leaf. Therefore, we often ask ourselves: which door to put in the bathroom? At the same time, I want the product to serve for a long time and retain its aesthetic appearance. In addition to these criteria, the combination of an interior product with the style of the room and the apartment as a whole is considered important.

The choice of material for the door to the bathroom

The decisive factor in deciding which doors are best to put in the bathroom is the area of the sanitary unit. The level of air humidity directly depends on this criterion. In a small room, the humidity level will be high. This factor will be exacerbated if ventilation in the room is either absent or weak.

If you are thinking about which door is better to install in the bathroom, then you can choose from the following options:

  • wooden or covered with wood veneer;
  • polymer-coated doors (laminated, with PVC film, covered with eco-veneer);
  • plastic models;
  • glass products.

Each of the materials or types of coatings for products is characterized by its own pros and cons.

What criteria should be followed when choosing?

In the question of which doors are put into the bathroom, consultants recommend focusing on the characteristics of the bathroom. If the moisture level in the room exceeds 60%, experts recommend paying attention to materials that are alternative to traditional wood and the usual wood derivatives. In this case, it is better to give preference to plastic and glass. If the room has a large area, it is equipped with good ventilation, then you can install solid wood doors, veneered, laminated or enameled.

Of great importance in the question of which door to put in the bathroom is the type of application of a protective coating on the door leaf and edge. In the manufacture of some models, the following technology is used: the film is applied first to the canvas, and then to the edge. A joint, imperceptible to the eye, is formed and if it is leaking, moisture will penetrate in this place and the canvas will deteriorate over time.

When making a door from a hygroscopic material (wood and its derivatives), the upper and lower ends are usually not covered with a moisture-proof film. These weak areas will attract and accumulate moisture from the bathroom. When choosing doors to a bathroom made of wood, they must be covered with a hydrophobic varnish.

Laminated products

Affordable, they are made from a base and resin-bonded paper. A coating of poor quality is easily damaged and moisture penetrates into damaged areas. Laminate has the best consumer characteristics. It has a large layer thickness and is varnished in several layers. The cost of such a product is higher than that of laminated counterparts, but laminated interior doors are durable and can withstand humidity of 60% or more.

PVC coated models

The frame of such products is made of MDF coated with PVC film. The coating provides the door with water-repellent properties, so they can be washed with sanitizing agents. A great advantage of such products over plastic counterparts is a wide range of colors and textures. The disadvantages include the likelihood of stratification of the canvas with subsequent ingress of moisture into the structure, as well as the presence of small amounts of chloride in the film. If for you the choice of the door to the bathroom is a safety aspect, then avoid buying products with pvc film. At elevated temperatures, chloride is released into environment, therefore, PVC coating is not classified as environmentally friendly.

Eco-veneer coated doors

Eco-veneer is a new generation bathroom material, a product of the fusion of woodworking industry waste and polymer plasticizer. The latter is harmless and environmentally friendly. The external eco-veneer is indistinguishable from natural material... However, in terms of its consumer qualities, eco-friendly veneer is superior to natural one. It is resistant to moisture and mechanical stress, aesthetic and does not emit harmful substances into the atmosphere even at elevated temperatures, well suited for the bathroom. The only negative is poor insulation.

Products made of wood or veneer

Wooden products are rarely installed in bathrooms due to their high hygroscopicity. However, in the presence of a coating of good varnish, paints, these models can last for more than a dozen years.

The door frame with veneer finish is made of inexpensive (soft) wood or chipboard, and exterior decoration produced with a thin cut of valuable varieties. Veneered products look very respectable, but they are not resistant to moisture. Therefore, if the level of humidity in the room is high, then it is not recommended to install models with veneer trim.

Plastic doors

They are affordable because they are made from inexpensive raw materials. Product cavities are filled with expanded polystyrene. Plastic models are absolutely hydrophobic, they are not afraid of temperature extremes, biological effects of fungus and mold. In addition to these advantages, plastic doors provide good sound insulation and prevent heat transfer.

The disadvantages of these products are their uniformity and unrespectable appearance. Basically, interior doors made of plastic are made of a standard shape, size and painted white. In addition, upon contact with high temperatures, plastic begins to release chloride, therefore it is considered an environmentally unsafe material.

Glass models

They offer superior performance and are ideal for bathroom installations. Glass doors look unusually beautiful, give the room lightness and increase the space. Modern tempered glass or triplex are not afraid of mechanical stress, they can be washed using chemicals... If you are in doubt about which door to install in the bathroom, give preference to this material.

Glass is absolutely safe from an environmental point of view and good stuff, and new technologies for the production of products from these raw materials exclude the possibility of injury from fragments. Even with strong blow the door will not shatter into fragments, you will only see a network of cracks inside the plastic film. The disadvantage of a glass interior door is its high cost and heavy weight, which implies forcing the opening and choosing durable fittings. For aesthetic reasons, you should choose frosted glass models for the bathroom.

Which doors are best for bathrooms?

It is sometimes very difficult to make a choice from the abundance of interior door models. Deciding which doors are best for the bathroom will help you Comparative characteristics different products presented in the table:

When deciding which doors to put in the bathroom, it is necessary to decide which of the criteria is most important: respectable appearance, moisture resistance, resistance to mechanical wear. Glass doors will serve as a universal option. They meet all the criteria, but are heavy and expensive. More budget options- doors covered with eco-veneer, laminate, veneer. Plastic doors and PVC-coated products pose a potential health hazard, as they emit chlorine in conditions with elevated temperatures. Wooden products are not recommended to be installed in rooms with humidity levels above 60%.

Specialization: Capital construction works(laying the foundation, erecting walls, constructing a roof, etc.). Internal construction work (laying of internal communications, rough and final finishing). Hobby: mobile communication, high tech, computer equipment, programming.

One of the factors that significantly affect visual perception interior doors are interior doors - doors for bathroom and toilet are especially important, because in addition to their beautiful appearance, they must have high performance characteristics.

Below in the article, we will focus specifically on the doors with which the plumbing rooms are equipped. I will tell you which products to choose so that they not only please the eye, but also serve you reliably for many years.

Varieties of products

I believe that bathroom and toilet doors should be different from designs for living rooms one important feature is the ability to operate in high humidity conditions. However, this, of course, is not the only criterion by which they should be selected.

For convenience, I divided all the structures existing on the domestic market into several groups according to certain criteria. And he depicted all this in a small diagram:

By material

The first thing to think about is the material from which the interior doors are made. After all, all other operational properties directly depend on this. Here are some of the most common options.

Plastic

Plastic doors for toilet and bathroom are distinguished by increased performance properties and feel great in conditions of high humidity and significant temperature fluctuations. The plastic used for their manufacture is not subject to biocorrosion and shrinkage, does not change its size depending on the air temperature, and tolerates aggressive detergents, steam and water jets.

In addition, polymer products have some additional benefits:

  • low weight - the structure does not require a powerful strapping for installation and closes with little force;
  • reliability - the plastic itself and the accessories used retain their operational characteristics for ten years;
  • practicality - due to its low porosity, the plastic does not retain dirt, and small drops of water or dust can be easily erased with a sponge.

An important feature, which I want to mention separately, is a high sound absorption coefficient and good heat-retaining properties. The door leaf limits the propagation of running water noise and prevents unproductive heat loss from the bathroom.

The door surface can be painted in one color or imitate other materials (eg wood). The surface does not require additional finishing (varnishing, painting). The decorative properties of the coating are preserved throughout the entire service life.

However, despite all the tricks of the designers, the plastic door is inferior in its aesthetic qualities alternative options... And this, in my opinion, is the only drawback of the product. But the low price pays for everything.

Glass

Glass doors to the bathroom and toilet look very impressive and beautiful. And the performance characteristics of this material are at their best. Glass is not afraid of direct contact with liquid, significant temperature fluctuations and exposure to water vapor.

Glass doors do not change their geometric parameters during operation, do not grow moldy and do not harm the human body (they have a zero level of emission of harmful substances).

For the manufacture of the described products, special tempered glass is used, which is able to withstand significant mechanical stress (including shock) without destruction. Even if you manage to break the canvas, it will crumble into small crumbs and will not cause injury.

Despite the very high specifications, glass doors are not often used to equip sanitary facilities. The fact is that they have a specific appearance and are not combined with all interior styles.

But I can tell you that a glass door is not just a transparent sheet. I have met such models from different manufacturers:

  • with a tinted surface;
  • with a canvas of varying degrees of transparency;
  • matte doors;
  • products with texture, dusting, embossed patterns or carvings;
  • with a mirror surface.

Doors in which glass is combined with other materials - wood, plastic, metal and so on - look very nice.

But the main property of a glass door, in my opinion, is the ability to visually enlarge the space, which is important for sanitary facilities in city apartments. And caring for them is simple - just wipe them dry with a rag.

But the price is poor. Get ready to pay a lot of money for such a design. Although there are models (for example, produced by GlassStroy), the cost of which starts from 12 thousand rubles.

Wood

Wood has always been an excellent material for making interior doors. And such products are suitable for any style of interior. But classic models solid wood are not suitable for furnishing doorways in bathrooms and toilets, since the material does not tolerate operation in humid air, quickly decays, deforms and loses its original attractive appearance.

In order to increase the service life of structures, manufacturers use dense wood species (for example, oak, beech), as well as various decorative compositions(varnishes, paints) that impart hydrophobic properties to surfaces. However, in this case too wooden crafts require special care, constant renewal of protective coatings, and so on.

In my opinion, buy and install wooden doors is only necessary if the design project requires it. In all other cases, their use is unjustified, especially considering the very high cost of the described products.

As an alternative, by the way, there are products on the market made of glued wood panels, which look like wood, but cost less. And their performance is better.

MDF and chipboard

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in my opinion, this is the most common option in our country. Such doors are made of particle boards or fiber boards, the surface of which is protected by a laminated layer that does not allow them to get wet.

The performance characteristics of MDF doors are quite high. They tolerate operation well in humid air, when high temperature and do not collapse from direct contact with liquid. And their price and wide assortment leaves no room for doubt.

The appearance and technical characteristics of doors made of glued wood panels largely depend on the type of coating used. So it's time to talk about him.

By type of coverage

So, what are the coatings that protect wood, and mainly chipboard and MDF doors- from the destructive effects of the microclimate in the bathroom. In my daily activities, I came across the following options:

  1. Laminate, laminate (CPL). A decorative and protective coating, essentially a special paper coated with a waterproof varnish. Laminatin differs from laminate in improved performance properties - wear resistance and appearance.

Laminated doors are very cheap, but I personally cannot guarantee their operation for more than one year. Especially if they are constantly exposed to steam and water. Therefore, buy models with CPL film.

The big advantage of such products is the uniformity of colors and shades. Therefore, if one of your doors becomes unusable, it can be easily replaced. At the same time, in its appearance, it will not differ from its neighbor (after all, doorways to the bathroom and toilet in apartments are usually located next to each other).

  1. Eco-veneer and PVC. Both of these varieties are films of their polymers and are very popular as materials for decorating the surfaces of doors to the bathroom. They are characterized by increased moisture and wear resistance.

Polyvinyl chloride film tolerates external mechanical influences better than others, however, it is characterized by low environmental friendliness, since it releases chlorides during operation (although the level of their emission is within the established standards).

As for the eco-veneer, it began to be used not so long ago, but it is gaining more and more popularity. The latter is due to its high environmental qualities (zero emission of harmful substances) and excellent appearance. Eco-veneer imitates wood not only in color, but also in touch. However, it should not be confused with natural veneer.

  1. Veneer. This natural coating is the most environmentally friendly, has an excellent appearance, but also a considerable cost (when compared with the analogs listed above). It is a very thin layer of valuable wood, which is glued to the particle board.

A veneered door is more similar to a wooden door than others, however, in contrast to a solid wood product, it has improved moisture resistance, excellent heat resistance, lighter weight and a lower price.

Another point that needs to be mentioned is the impossibility of operating such a door in a place where water can get on it. In extreme cases, the surface must be additionally treated with a water-repellent varnish, which will prevent the liquid from penetrating into the thickness of the glued board.

  1. Varnish or enamel. This type of decorative coating is suitable for doors made of any materials, but at present it is practically not used, since the appearance of such structures leaves much to be desired.

However, the enamelled door is well protected from moisture and easy to repair. In case of damage to the decorative layer, you just need to paint over or varnish again the door surface (or part of it).

By design

Now let's decide on design features... After all, not all products are made from a whole piece of wood or a solid glued board. But there are such options:

  1. Panel doors. Structurally, they are a frame made of wooden bars, upholstered on both sides with MDF sheets. The empty interior space is filled with a porous material that increases the sound and heat insulation properties of the product. The advantage of such a solution is a very low price, however, the quality is also at the proper level. Such doors are not subject to deformation during the entire service life.

  1. Paneled doors. One of the most popular designs, which was invented several centuries ago and is still used today. A paneled door consists of a frame along the perimeter, stiffeners for its screed (middle blocks) and panels inserted into the space between the frame elements. These doors are more expensive and weigh more, but retain their characteristics better in conditions of high humidity and constant temperature fluctuations.

  1. Tzargovye doors. Structurally, they are two vertical beams connected horizontally by several transverse drawers. They differ from other species in an interesting appearance. Usually, a different number of tsars is used. different shapes and sizes. And between them, other decorative materials are often inserted - glass, metal, and so on.

  1. Molded doors. They consist of two elements - molded racks along the perimeter of the door leaf and glass of a large area inserted in the middle. The transparent element is a safe sandwich construction that can have different colour, transparency and texture. Molded doors are distinguished by low sound insulation, but they fit perfectly into or a toilet, which is why their high popularity is due.

  1. Solid doors. They are made from a solid sheet of any material. I have come across such doors made of solid wood and glass. Usually in this category are presented very expensive exclusive products made on individual orders.

By opening method

This is one of the most important selection criteria, because it greatly affects the convenience of daily use. I will highlight the most common varieties:

  1. Swing. The principle of functioning is clear from the name. When closed, the swinging sash fits snugly against the harness, therefore it well insulates living quarters from moisture and noise in the bathroom. In addition, it eliminates the formation of drafts in the plumbing room.

The disadvantage of this design, in my opinion, is the need for free space for the sash to move.

  1. Sliding (compartment doors). In this case, the door leaf does not swing open in one direction or another, but moves to the right or left. This design allows you to significantly save space in the apartment, however, it has several significant disadvantages.

First of all, it is poor sound and heat insulation. The door does not fit snugly against the trim, so drafts can appear inside the bathroom, and steam and warm air will escape. Plus, your singing in the shower will disturb your loved ones.

Another unobvious minus is the need to arrange a place for shifting the canvas. Although it is located along the wall, it can sometimes be uncomfortable. And the rollers hidden in the wall often fail due to high levels of humidity or debris.

  1. Foldable... This design appeared not so long ago, but is widely used to equip doorways to bathrooms and toilets. Externally, it is a product, the door leaf of which consists of several folding segments. In more detail, the principle of its functioning can be seen in the photo.

The advantage of this product is some space saving, the disadvantage is the unreliability of the fittings, as well as the poor adherence of the canvas to the strapping. As a result - low sound and heat insulation properties.

  1. Rotary. A new type of door, which, in my opinion, combines all the advantages of swing and folding doors, but is devoid of their disadvantages. The bottom line is the use of special fittings, thanks to which the door leaf first swings open, and then is compactly placed along one of the walls.

As a result, you get a product that, when open, takes up a minimum of free space, but when closed, it fits snugly to the piping, preventing the penetration of cold air into the bath.

Well, the last criterion that I would like to talk about is the types of handles and latches for doors.

By type of locking fittings

When choosing doors for bathrooms and toilets, special attention should be paid to the purchase of locking fittings. After all, hardly anyone would want his solitude when committing hygiene procedures was broken. And sitting in the toilet for several hours because of a jammed latch is also unpleasant.

Here I can recommend several options:

  1. Handle with integrated lock. The cheapest option for locking fittings. It is a handle with a latch, in the mechanism of which a lock is built-in, which holds the tongue in a fixed position (in the case when you need to retire).

  1. The handle and the latch are separate. Such products will also not cost too much, but the reliability will be higher. The bottom line is that the handle with the tongue cuts in separately from the valve itself. Moreover, the latter can be a mortise or invoice (something like a latch from the USSR). The mechanisms will be operated at different intensities, which will extend their service life.

  1. Plumbing lock. The most common option, although it costs more than the previous two. In this case, the hardware has one locking tab, but it is operated by a handle at the top and a catch at the bottom.

The essence of its operation is similar to the previous version, however, the general layout increases the reliability of the product. The price of such a device is about 3 times higher than the previous version.

Dimensions of doors for sanitary facilities

The geometric parameters (height, width, thickness) of the products are selected individually, based on the dimensions of the doorway. There are certain standards that all manufacturers adhere to. The dimensions of classic designs are presented in the table. In the same place, I indicated which doors to install for certain dimensions of the existing doorway.

Door height, cm Opening height, cm Door width, cm Opening width
200 from 205 to 210 40 from 44 to 50
60 from 64 to 70
70 from 74 to 80
80 from 84 to 90
90 from 94 to 100
100 from 104 to 110

The dimensions of the doors to the bathroom and toilet increased relative to the door leaf, due to the fact that the interior doors are installed with a frame, which also has certain dimensions.

Measure the doorway to determine the size of the door as follows:

  1. Height. Measured from floor to doorway joist. If the decorative coating on the floor (linoleum, laminate, parquet) has not yet been installed, then it is necessary to lay a margin for this (subtract a certain number of centimeters from the height). It is worth noting here that all doors on sale have a standard height, so if the opening height is not enough, you will either have to order the door according to individual project, or hammer in the wall.
  2. Width. Measured from one edge of the opening to the other. When buying a door, remember that the box (strapping) must fit into the opening with a margin of at least 1 cm, which is necessary to seal the structure polyurethane foam... To determine the desired width of the door itself (without the box), you need to subtract the foam gap (10-15 mm) and the thickness of the beam (usually 25 mm * 2 - the beam will be on both sides) from the resulting value, from which the door block is made.
  3. Depth. To determine this value, you need to measure the thickness of the interior wall and add to this a certain number of centimeters, which will take decorative trim(tiles, plaster). If the width of the door trim is not enough, you need to buy additional strips.

Based own experience, I want to say that for old apartment built in the last century (Khrushchev), the standard door size is 60 cm, and for new dwellings - 70 cm.Additionally, I note that if you are going to install sliding structures, you need to take care of the place where the canvas will be removed when open.

One more point. When choosing doors, make sure that the selected and purchased plumbing equipment will pass through them. I have encountered situations where it was impossible to bring in through a too narrow door inside the bathroom. washing machine and.

Manufacturers and collections

When deciding which doors to supply for a bathroom or toilet, you also need to pay attention to the companies that produce these products. I will talk about some of them here.

  1. Khales... A Belarusian company that has been producing doors of the highest quality since the fall of 1999. Now this company exports its products to many neighboring countries and to Europe.

Currently, the range of the company consists of 18 models, differing from each other in color, shape, the presence of additional decorative details and other features. All of them are divided into several collections - Renaissance, Modernity and Classic.

The average cost of a product is about 10 thousand rubles. There are both cheaper and more expensive models.

  1. Art Deco. Factory for the production of interior doors, including for sanitary facilities, which is located in the Russian city of Ulyanovsk. It has been working in the domestic market since 2009, but has already managed to recommend itself exclusively from the positive side.

For the manufacture of doors, natural wood is used, dried to a certain level of humidity, as well as veneer of valuable wood species. Veneered products and solid wood doors are covered with high-tech polyurethane varnish.

The assortment of the company includes a large number of models divided into three collections - Art Deco, Vatikan and Futuro. The cost of doors starts from 8 thousand rubles.

  1. Drops. A company that specializes exclusively in the production of doors with increased moisture resistance. They are originally intended for indoor use, the microclimate of which is characterized by a high level of humidity and significant temperature fluctuations.

The products of this company are distinguished by durability, resistance to mechanical damage, uniformity of color and a huge range of design solutions.

The company produces pure white products, painted in one color, laminated, side panels and so on. The price starts from 4500 rubles and above.

  1. Verda. A trade mark belonging to the Russian production association "Odintsovo", under which high-quality interior doors made of wood and glued panels have been produced for more than 10 years, including for equipping bathrooms and toilets.

The assortment produced by the company includes a huge number of hinged, sliding and folding models, decorated with natural veneer, eco-veneer and polymer film.

I would especially like to highlight the bathroom doors equipped with a ventilation grill. Thanks to it, air is supplied to the bathroom and removed through the ventilation hole. This contributes to the regulation of the microclimate inside and reduces the level of humidity in the room.

The cost of products starts from 4 thousand rubles.

  1. Mariam. Russian company specializing in the production of interior doors and products for sanitary facilities. The products of this company are of high quality and exquisite appearance.

The door design is developed by the author's team, taking into account the accumulated experience and the most modern trends in this region. The production is organized on high-tech lines, which makes it possible to produce products that meet the highest Russian and European standards.

The starting price for the Mariam door is 6400 rubles.

Summary

Now you know how to choose bathroom and toilet doors. Do-it-yourself installation of this product should not cause you any special problems. detailed instructions on this issue is outlined in the video in this article. You can leave your opinion about the information in the comments.

Today the market offers a very wide range of interior doors for every taste and color.

When choosing doors for a bathroom, it should be understood that the door will be exposed to the increased humidity and temperature typical of bathroom premises. Based on this, you need to choose a material that will be resistant to moisture.

Let's find out which doors are put into the bathroom? How do they differ from each other and what are their pros and cons?

Solid oak doors are very durable, covered with several layers of varnish. But this option is very expensive. Therefore, as an option for budget repair there is no need to consider oak doors.

A good choice would be to install a laminated door in the bathroom. But at the same time, you should choose doors whose ends are not covered special paper and PVC tape. In this case, you will warn yourself against replacing the doors due to the fact that the melamine peels off at the ends.

Laminate well imitates any texture and washes well. Doors coated with such artificial veneer are not expensive.

You can consider the option of installing plastic doors. They are resistant to moisture, very light and do not need any special care. Plastic doors to the bathroom can be considered an excellent choice.

The only drawback may be that plastic doors are usually produced white and, if this color is not suitable for your interior, then it is better to take a closer look at doors made of other materials.

How plastic doors to the bathroom and toilet look in the interior is shown in the photo below:

PVC coated doors

An excellent choice would be doors covered with PVC film, which reliably protects doors from splashes and minor scratches. Doors with a PVC film coating can be selected for any interior, since the coating perfectly imitates the surface texture of wood and can be painted in any color. Such doors are not expensive and look very beautiful.

Glass doors to the bathroom

Recently, glass doors for the bathroom are gaining more and more popularity. And this is not surprising. The advantages of glass doors include exceptional moisture resistance, high strength of tempered glass, small thickness, ample opportunities for decorative design.

The glass door will not warp, peel off, it will not swell from moisture. With the help of sandblasting, glass doors are matted, a pattern is applied to them, reducing transparency.

With the help of special stickers, you can further increase the strength of glass doors and decorate them in accordance with the interior design.

Bathroom door width

As a rule, the width of the doors to the bathroom is taken equal to 60 cm. But before buying a new door, it is better to clarify the required dimensions.

To determine the required width and height of the bathroom door, you will need to take measurements by measuring the doorway with a tape measure.

You need to measure cleanly between opposite sides of the opening. In this case, the distance between the bricks should be measured, and not between the surfaces of the plastered slopes. But the depth of the opening must be measured taking into account the finish.

After the obtained dimensions for the installation of the door frame, lay a distance of 15 mm, and at the distance from the door leaf to the door frame - 3-5 mm.

If your door has already been purchased and it does not fit into the existing doorway, then the opening will have to be increased. In this case, the dimensions of the opening are determined in the reverse order based on the dimensions of the door leaf.

When measuring, do not forget that a door frame with a sill is placed in the bathroom.

When choosing a door to the bathroom, several important points... Wooden canvas is afraid of moisture, but this drawback is solved by applying antiseptic impregnation or varnish. Glass is appropriate in any interior, it is not afraid of moisture and temperature changes. Plastic doors are durable, practical, cheap, not afraid of the effects of detergents, but they are not suitable for every interior. When buying a door, it is worth choosing canvases (if the interior does not require otherwise), since scratches or chips are not so noticeable on them.

Previously, high thresholds were made in bathrooms so that in the event of an overflow of water, it would not get into the room and spoil the decor. But this decision is not suitable if the family has small children and elderly people. Now the market offers special devices that prevent overflow of water, as well as automatic systems shutting off the water supply system in case of occurrence.
