The number of car owners is increasing every year. In 2006, 37% of Russians were provided with motor vehicles; by 2010, their number was 43%. This trend is causing an increase in demand for car maintenance, including the services of tire shops. Seasonal tire change, tire change, tire inflation, wheel balancing - all these works are necessary for a safe and comfortable ride. Thus tire fitting Is one of the most profitable and popular areas in the automotive service industry.

Narrowly specialized firms provide only tire fitting services. Large car services offering a whole range of works on body repair, diagnostics, car painting will equip a tire fitting area in order to expand the list of services provided and attract new customers. Private entrepreneurs set up unusual businesses, the so-called "tire fitting on wheels" (a mobile workshop in a van). Whichever option you choose, it is worth remembering that the competition in this area is very serious. Benefits such as express service, 24-hour work hours, guarantees, discounts, etc. help firms stay afloat. But the most important aspect of success is quality work. And this no longer depends on the entrepreneurial acumen, but on the qualifications of the specialists and the tire fitting equipment with which they work.

Changing tires and tires

Seasonal and emergency work in a tire shop: dismantling a wheel, inflating a tube, changing tires. To do this, use a tire changer (also called a machine). The main elements are a turntable and a mounting stand. The control is carried out using pedals (pressing the tire, clamping the cams, rotating the table). The equipment operates from the mains and pneumatic lines, for example, from a compressor. The mounting head is powered from the pneumatic drive, which performs the main work on assembly / disassembly and repair of wheels. With the help of the tab located at the bottom, the re-beading is carried out, that is, the tire is squeezed from the disc. On the turntable, the already disassembled wheel is fixed and clamped with cams, and the tire is removed from the rim.

Tire changers are of two types:

  • Semi-automatic- some operations have to be performed manually, for example, retracting the mounting post, adjusting the gap between the tab and the edge of the rim.
  • Automatic- perform all operations without human intervention. Typically, these tire changers are equipped with a so-called "third hand" system. This is an option that greatly simplifies the mounting and dismounting of low-profile, wide and hard tires, handling defective tires and large-diameter wheels. It helps support the wheel and thread the foot.

Naturally, these types also differ in price - semiautomatic equipment is cheaper. Expensive automatic tire changers can have several table rotation speeds, a moisture-oil separator for an air channel, an explosive inflator for tubeless tires. These technical additions will be appropriate for a car service with a wide profile of work, if you have to service a variety of cars: from small cars to SUVs and small trucks. Also, when choosing, you need to take into account the recommended indicators of the maximum width (from 12 to 15 inches) and wheel diameter (from 38 to 50 inches).

Wheel balancing

The displacement of the center of gravity of the wheel relative to the axle can lead to a decrease in the service life of such parts as a wheel bearing, ball bearings, shock absorbers, etc. It also increases vibration during driving, which causes discomfort to passengers. Worst of all, it destroys the car's chassis and can lead to an accident.

Therefore, the demand for services balancing wheels arises not only in an emergency situation, when the driver feels a deterioration in the controllability of the machine after overcoming any obstacle at high speed or falling into a hole. Planned balancing is carried out with a seasonal change of tires, every 15 km of run, as well as before and after a trip over long distances (over 2 thousand km).

What is wheel balancing and why is it needed?

A wheel is a heterogeneous product consisting of several parts and materials. When it rotates, the mass is unevenly distributed. And this is corrected by securing special loads. Correct wheel balancing is, first of all, safety on the road. This means that a tire specialist is fully responsible for the quality of the work performed.

To detect imbalance and control check, wheels with already fixed weights are used balancing stand... Its design consists of a body, a drive shaft on which the wheel is fixed, protective cover and display. The equipment is connected to the mains or to a generator with a voltage of 220 or 380 V (depending on the model).

Professional advice. To achieve the most accurate measurements, the machine must be installed on a solid concrete surface and secure with anchor bolts. The distance from the wall should be at least 700 mm, and there should be no sources of heat and vibrations nearby.

The general principle of operation of all balancing machines is as follows. The "New wheel" program is set. Before fixing the wheel to the shaft, it must be cleaned of dirt and previously installed weights removed. Otherwise, accurate measurements cannot be made. With the help of an electronic ruler, the wheel diameter and disc overhang are measured. The data is shown on the display. After that, the wheel width is entered (the value is taken from the passport). Correctly set parameters are the key precise definition imbalance. After that, the casing is lowered and the "Start" button is pressed - the wheel begins to rotate on the shaft. The test time is usually 5-8 seconds, during this period the sensors record the imbalance. After that, the data on the detected deviations are displayed on the display. If the balance is imbalanced, weights are placed on the wheel and a control measurement is taken.

When choosing balancing equipment, it is important to consider not only the diameter of the wheel, but also its weight. As a rule, for each model of the machine, a range is given for this parameter, for example, 10 - 65 kg or 10 - 70 kg. The higher the latter value, the larger the wheels can be serviced.

Repair of cameras and tires

A punctured wheel is one of the biggest troubles that can happen on the road. If on old tires and poorly balanced wheels you can even get to the right place at the very least, then a damaged tire will completely immobilize the car. It is good if the prudent driver has a spare wheel. But you still need to repair the damage, because you don't throw out the wheel. That is why in such a situation, a car enthusiast turns to a tire workshop.

To repair through damage to tire tubes and tires, it is used vulcanizer... It is a machine with a work table, on which there is a heating platform, and there is a clamp on top. Due to its small size, the device can be mounted on a table or workbench. Before starting work on the machine, the damaged area of the tire and the patch are cleaned and treated with a special reagent (catalyst). After that, the product is placed on a heated platform with a patch down (so that the rubber does not stick to the plate, you need to sprinkle it with talcum powder). A bag of sand is placed in the tire, which follows the contours of the product - in this way it is possible to achieve the most uniform adhesion of the patch over the entire area of the repaired surface. The vulcanization time is 15 - 20 minutes, and the working temperature can reach +150 ° C.

The hot vulcanization method helps to restore the rubber to its performance properties and full tightness. And you can check the quality of the work performed using a special bath. The reservoir is filled with liquid and the chamber is immersed in it. In some containers, the product is loaded manually, in some - with the help of an elevator powered by a pneumatic drive.

It is important to know when choosing! For each vulcanizer, there is an indicator of the maximum allowable tire repair size. The larger it is, the more complex damage can be repaired.

Now you know which equipment is an integral part of the technical equipment of any tire workshop. With the complex of machines described in this article, you will be able to provide the most demanded services in the field of automotive maintenance. With a list of such equipment, you can be sure that your business will not depend on seasonal demand for replacement tires. The wider the range of services provided, the more profit the company will bring.

How to make tire fitting a profitable business?

Typically, a tire shop pays for itself in 3 to 4 months of work. And it will make a profit all year round... But there is something that will help you get the most benefit at the start.

Advice 1. As you know, the hottest time for tire service is spring and autumn, when car owners change tires from winter to summer, and vice versa. Therefore, you need to prepare for this season in advance by purchasing all the necessary technical equipment. This way you will not have to refuse customers due to lack of equipment, and the workshop will earn a good reputation.

Tip 2. If you are opening a 24/7 service near the road, it is better to have a large, bright sign that can be seen from afar. The unknown company name is unlikely to attract passing drivers. But the inscription "Tire service - round the clock" or "Tire service 24 hours" will play its role in the best possible way.

Tip 3. The client wants to be sure of the quality of the services provided. If you have highly qualified employees, then you can safely give a guarantee for services. Set deadlines for each type of work performed and attach a warranty card to the payment receipt. This will avoid conflicts in case of problems, and clients will trust you and contact you again and again.

Perhaps, this is the end of it. Other ideas for a successful business will come to you in the process. But buy what you need tire fitting equipment you can in our online store. Just place an order through the website or by calling a free phone. The manager will answer all your questions, tell you about the delivery times and payment options for the goods.

Trading companies receive a large number of requests for equipment, one of the most common is a request for equipment for the organization of a tire fitting. Moreover, the organization of a tire fitting site can be within the framework of an existing car service or the organization of a new direction in the activities of an individual entrepreneur or organization. Within the framework of this article, we will talk about each type of equipment that is necessary for the operation of the tire fitting section.

Tire changer

The wheel mounting and dismounting machine is one of the most important components of the wheel repair shop. Their main differences are that they differ in type as automatic or semi-automatic, certainly a difference in manufacturer, in price. It does not always happen that very famous manufacturer provides sufficient product quality and a set of necessary functions. It even happens very often that, without undue overpayment for the cost of equipment, the client can receive a very large number of the necessary functions of the machine - this applies to machines for passenger wheels and for truck assembly. Low-cost manufacturers for Russian car services and tire repair specialists are Chinese manufacturers (UNITE, Bright, Trommelberg, etc.) and Russian manufacturers (Avtotekhsnab, NovGARO, Civik, Avtospetsoborudovanie plant, etc.). Italian manufacturers: Sice, CEMB, Sicam, Hoffman, M&B, Ravagliolli, Nussbaum, Beisbarth. Each manufacturer is good in terms of functionality and build quality, in many regions of Russia there is a so-called regional factor, in which the "gypsy post" has a very serious impact on the decision to buy a particular brand for tire fitting: if my neighbors are worth such a brand, then you need to put it exactly the same, because everything else has not been tested and may break. For some reason, it is very difficult for our Russian tire repair specialist to trust the seller and the organization that will service this equipment, he sleeps and sees that they want to cheat him and "sell" absolutely non-working equipment with low quality, but this is our mentality, with which we just need live and work, and only with the help of professional advice from managers and competent service prove to the client the efficiency and quality of this or that tire fitting machine.

Balancing machine

Another stand, which is simply necessary to be found at the tire service, because the importance of accurate balancing is certainly relevant and there is no need to prove this importance. The accuracy of wheel balancing is, first of all, the safety of our road traffic.

There are no special differences between balances, there is a manual input of all data and automatic input of all wheel data into the machine memory to make the necessary settings. Some balancing stands have vibration control functions, for example, the American manufacturer HUNTER - made this function the first and now HUNTER with a vibration control function is in demand among Russian car services - for example, the GSP9700 model. For trucks, especially modern imported trucks, wheel balancing has become a vital necessity. Legend and most popular model Russian production is the balancing stand SBMP-200, which is notable for its low cost, high quality, time-tested and already formed reputation among tire fitters. Italians and Germans can be distinguished among imported analogs. For cargo balancing, a very convenient function is an elevator or lift, which is located nearby or built into the stand itself.

The balancing accuracy is also influenced by the use of professional adapters and adapters - in Russia and all over the world, the German manufacturer HAWEKA probably has a recognized leadership in this segment. Now it is considered bad form to NOT use these devices. The use of which, firstly, gives a high-quality work to the tire workshop, secondly, it relieves the owner and the master of dissatisfied customers, and thirdly, it shows the professionalism of the tire service. HAWEKA adapters can be purchased either separately for a specific type of car wheels, or as whole tool boards with a conveniently selected set of adapters.

Vulcanizer

Vulcanization of wheels - has long been considered a mandatory function of any tire repair. Both the chambers and the tires themselves undergo vulcanization. modern vulcanization equipment allows you to do this in compliance with all quality requirements or restoration of the rubber coating. The device that performs the function of vulcanization is called a vulcanizer. The most popular in Russia are the Chelyabinsk manufacturer Thermopress. The main difference from other manufacturers is that the Thermopress no longer produces any other products, and all its developments are focused only on this product. Although there are still vulcanizers ETNA and SIBEK - which are also known to Russian users of tire repair products. They differ from each other: they can be with or without a timer, for cameras and tires, for cars and trucks, for special equipment.

Compressor

Life without air is impossible! The use of a well-thought-out and mounted pneumatic system allows many equipment to work in a tire workshop - this, by the way, some models of which now work only on air, and, which differs in the force that acts on the wheel nut, the recommended force is from 500 to 600 Nm - it's for passenger cars; and various stripping machines used when gluing tubes or tires when installing patches.

Most often, a receiver with a volume of at least 100 liters and a capacity of at least 400 liters is enough for the normal operation of a tire fitting. Probably the most famous and popular manufacturer on the compressor equipment market is REMEZA. Belarusian are distinguished by high reliability, unpretentiousness in work, low price - which cannot but bribe Russian users.

Washer for wheels

This type of equipment, unfortunately, has not yet become popular among tire fitters in Russia, this is probably due to the rather high cost of the equipment. The minimum price of an imported car wash is from 200,000 rubles, the most famous are WULKAN wheel washers by the Polish manufacturer KART. Although the presence of a wheel washer at any tire service or car service is primarily a production culture, it is the accuracy of the results when balancing wheels, it is an additional service to customers who have become very demanding on the equipment and capabilities of the service where their car is being serviced at the moment. And probably every car owner will be pleased when his old wheels are washed and packed in special bags and neatly folded into the trunk. And since we still strive for perfection and try to make all areas of the car service modern - then buying a wheel washer is only a matter of time.

Auxiliary equipment

First of all, the auxiliary equipment for tire fitting can be attributed to those already mentioned earlier, they are pneumatic and electric. The most popular are pneumatic wrenches, connected to the pneumatic line, they allow you to effectively, and most importantly, quickly unscrew or tighten the wheel nuts. Electric wrenches are not used on passenger car tire shops.

In the truck tire service, three types of wrenches are generally used:

  1. Manual. First of all, he found popularity among drivers who are on the road, and whom he can very much help if the car is on the track with a flat tire.
  2. Pneumatic. It is used at tire shops of any scale, it can be manual, or it can be rolling.
  3. Electric. Electric wrenches are used only in truck tire shops.

Tire bath- is a convenient way to check a wheel or tube for puncture.

- the main purpose of which is to raise and hold the car at the required height as quickly as possible, while the tire repair specialist performs the actions of removing and installing wheels. They differ in tonnage, manufacturer, price. But at the tire service you can also find bottle jacks, which are mostly suitable for private tire repair, as well as pneumatic ones that are connected to the air line and which are very convenient to work with.

Nitrogen inflation plants- they still take the place of auxiliary equipment, but have already found their main place in many services. They are very profitable to their owners: the cost of gas is low, and the cost of the service is quite expensive and the margin is 2 or 3 times the purchase price. And the payback of such installations is quite fast. Inflating tires with nitrogen is simply a necessary service for owners of expensive foreign cars with good tires, where the functions that nitrogen gives play a big role in traffic safety.

Disc straightening machine

Rim rental is a rather popular service among those offered by tire fitting. Our roads, in many regions of Russia, leave much to be desired - pits, bumps, stones, road repairs - all this leads to a violation of the evenness of the disc diameter. The main types of stands for wheel repair:

  1. For the repair of stamped disks, the so-called roller stands are used, they are 6 and 8 roller stands. The essence of their work is to correct the disc surface and align it to the ideal diameter by applying a uniform force on the wheel rim.
  2. For the repair of cast disks, specialized machines for straightening cast disks are used. They look like real lathe machines. In working with steel discs, a method of heating the area of a steel disc is used, in which, when heated and with the help of special nozzles and rotation of the turning group, the area of the disc rim is slowly corrected and the ideal diameter of the disc is removed.

In Russia, the most popular models are: a roller stand for dressing discs "Titan ST-16" from the Omsk manufacturer "CIVIK"; for cast wheels Turkish machines ATEK, DORUK and Russian manufacturer SIBEK.

Truck tire fitting

Equipment for truck tire fitting differs from passenger equipment mainly only in the ability to work with tires of large dimensions. Accordingly, it will be more powerful, and it will take more space to place it.

But be careful: opening a cargo workshop, without the possibility of repairing cars, can be unprofitable. The main stream of cars is still cars. At the same time, "cargo" equipment is more expensive.

Automatic or semi-automatic?

If you cannot decide which equipment to buy - manual or automatic - then we advise you to immediately buy an automatic one, especially if you are going to work with a small team at first.

If automatic equipment is available, one or two workers can replace and repair tires. Of course, an automatic machine will cost you more than a semi-automatic one, but the price will pay off with a large turnover of work.

Types of tire changers

Equipment prices, solutions

We come to the money question. Experts strongly recommend not to save on equipment and, if possible, buy imported machines - for example, German or American.

Chinese equipment (AE&T, Nordberg, Trommelberg) is the least preferable, because, according to the experience of professionals, it often breaks down, is assembled from unsatisfactory raw materials and is not conscientious.

Of course, German and American equipment - for example, Hofmann, HUNTER equipment - may seem too expensive for a beginner in this business, and therefore we suggest taking a closer look at Italian tire fitting equipment (Sicam, M&B, OMA-Werther). It is worse than German, but better than Chinese.

Russian equipment (SOROKIN, STORM, Sivik) also has good endurance. Many novice entrepreneurs buy exactly Russian equipment, if the wallet does not allow acquiring Italian or German.

Let's show how much the equipment for tire fitting from different manufacturing countries costs, using the example of an automatic machine for 220V.

Tire changer, automatic (220V):

  • Germany, Hofmann - 369 985 rubles.
  • USA, HUNTER - 325,044 rubles.
  • Italy, M&B - 170 583 rubles.
  • China, Trommelberg - 104 555 rubles.
  • Russia, SOROKIN - 99 199 rubles.

Which tire changer to buy?

The adage “the miser pays twice” is as old as the world because it’s true. Chinese equipment will last a year or two, and you will have to buy a new one. It is not known in what conditions it is done, what people are watching over its assembly.

You can only trust Chinese manufacturers if you yourself went to China and went to the factory to check the equipment.

If you do not have enough funds for full set good equipment, buy the most necessary for now:

  • Tire changer;
  • balancing machine;
  • compressor;
  • rolling jack;
  • vulcanizer;
  • tools and consumables.

With this equipment you will be able to work and receive income from it. Of course, you will not be able to offer your customers the entire list of traditional services, but for a start, the very simple repair tires.

As soon as you start making a profit, you will have the opportunity to buy additional equipment. Up to the plant for the production of nitrogen, which, by the way, brings a good sum of money.

Smart cost savings

It is not recommended to buy used tire fitting equipment, because it is not known what will become of it in a week. Outwardly, it may look acceptable, but if it breaks, you will be tortured to deal with the seller and in the end you will just waste your nerves.

It is also better not to buy complete sets of equipment for tire fitting. Choosing your own equipment will save you money.

Fixed capital should go to machine tools, you really can't skimp on them. All other equipment can be chosen cheaper.

Kits usually offer equipment of the same brand, and the range in cost by different types equipment in this case does not exist.

Equipment and human factor

Also, you must remember one very important rule: that appearance that has new hardware needs to be maintained. It is clear that it will not be perfectly clean after the first orders, but you need to try to keep it clean.

For this, you need to buy tools such as, for example, a blower gun. The dirtier your equipment, the less trust your customer will have in you. Golden Rule not only business, but also life: you are greeted by your clothes.

You can justify a dirty environment by saying that you have a "season" and you don't have time to keep clean, but in fact, it is not so difficult to blow and wash your tools after each order.

This is a point that is not yet understood by all owners of domestic centers. But you - as a smart businessman - will benefit directly from your workshop. By the way, well-maintained equipment will last you longer.

We come to another delicate question.

Do not put strangers on your brand new equipment you just bought.

In our country you can find such wizards who at one time revised the program "Crazy Hands".

They are not used to working with professional equipment.

There are people who simply do not know how to work with tires. There are also those who come for a month, spoil the equipment and then leave for another owner.

If you do not want to lose your business by spoiling the equipment, study it yourself and test it yourself, at least for the first time. Hire one or two people you trust.

The best option would be to hire young and attentive assistants who may not have previously stood at the machines. According to the experience of professionals, it is precisely such young cadres who will faithfully serve their work for years.

If you do not begin to control the actions of the workers, you will not be present in the workshop, then there is no guarantee that you will not have to buy new equipment in a year and start from scratch.

Equipment and place for its placement

The question of the quality of work leads to the question of where to locate your business. That's right, and not vice versa.

There is a prejudice that a stable income can only be generated by a workshop that is located in a popular place, for example, in the city center, where there is a large flow of cars.

Nevertheless, practice shows: people do not go to where they are close, but to where they quickly and efficiently repair wheels. A well-established center, even if it is on the outskirts of the city, will attract customers on the principle of word of mouth.

He usually has his own regular customers. Therefore, if you cannot afford to put a workshop on a vantage point, do not be discouraged: your reputation will rise at the expense of the quality of the mercenaries' work. Which, as we said, must operate the equipment correctly.

If it is small to fix wheels, keep an eye on the dimensions of your equipment. Do not buy equipment that is too bulky, because it will not be easy to work on.

People should have space not only for themselves, but also for small tools, hoses and other materials that need to be on hand. Ideally, you have a dedicated client room and a small TV, table and kettle.

In modern centers, it is customary to arrange such recreation areas so that the buyers of your services do not even notice what is happening around them. After drinking coffee, the client will leave on brand new wheels, leaving only pleasant impressions about your business.
