Methods for attaching roller shutters to plastic windows. How is the roller blind attached to plastic windows? Types of roller blinds and how to install them

Today we will focus on decorating room windows with roller blinds.

A roller blind is rather an addition to the main window decor, protection from direct sunlight, acts as an independent element less often, mainly in the kitchen, loggia and in utility rooms.

In a twisted state, it is almost invisible, however, when unfolded, it is able to protect from light, darken the room during rest and sleep.

The curtain is a rectangular canvas, which is rolled up with the help of special mechanisms, hence the name - roller blind or roller blind.

Types of roller blinds

Blinds can be divided into types according to the structure of the fabric:

  • dense fabrics that do not transmit light (100% blackout);
  • medium-dense fabrics that transmit light, but protect from bright sunlight, as if scattering it (darkening 30-50%);
  • transparent or translucent fabrics, sometimes combining two types (for example, a “day-night” curtain), which are the main decor of windows;
  • curtains made of natural plant materials (sisal, bamboo, jute, linen).

In addition, the fabrics used for curtains can be plain or patterned. Manufacturers offer the widest selection of plain fabrics different colors and their shades, and even more textured fabrics and fabrics with various patterns: floral, ornamental, striped, check, etc.

By the type of mechanism and the method of fastening, the curtains can be divided into the following types:

  • with the simplest mechanism on a chain and an open system;
  • spring-loaded curtains;
  • blinds with a box and side guides, mounted to the frame vertically and fixing the curtain (suitable for roof windows and flaps) - cassette systems;
  • blinds with a remote control mechanism with an electric drive.

Cassette systems and vertical guides are available in several colors: white - for window frames white and various shades natural wood for double-glazed windows of the corresponding color.

What type of mechanism and the density of the fabric to choose for curtains depends, first of all, on the purpose of the room and the interior as a whole. The blinds can be installed above the window opening, inside the opening or directly on the window frame or window sash.

So for a bedroom, especially with windows facing the sunny side, it is better to choose a roller blind made of dense fabric with a high degree of light protection in neutral pastel shades to ensure a comfortable stay. This will save you from unnecessary heavy curtains that are dust collectors. The window will be enough to decorate with light tulle, which will undoubtedly give the room lightness and airiness.

A roller blind for a nursery is often chosen in brighter shades, combining it in color with walls, furniture or the main accents of the interior. In rooms for babies, manufacturers offer curtains with drawings of fairy-tale characters, for older children - with bright prints, striped or solid colors.

The blind in the kitchen is especially good if the work surface kitchen set located on the side of the window.

A fabric with a medium degree of light protection will transmit light and diffuse the sun's rays. A curtain drawn down to the middle of the window will decorate the window and at the same time provide an opportunity to view the landscape on the other side of the window.

Recently, roller blinds have increasingly begun to decorate the windows of the loggia.

However, in addition to the decor, the loggia has to be protected from direct sunlight, especially if there are plants on it. An excellent solution would be a "day-night" roller blind, or as it is also called - "zebra", which is a double, freely hanging striped canvas, with stripes of the same width, but different in translucency. The strips, shifting relative to each other, allow you to adjust the luminous flux.

Such a curtain in appearance resembles blinds, it looks equally good both on the loggia and in living quarters.

If you decide to install the roller blind over the upper slope of the window opening, then remember that its size should be 10 cm or more wider than the opening (optional) in order to avoid side cracks.

For roller blinds dormers use a spring mechanism that keeps the canvas taut. The mechanism can be controlled manually or remotely using the remote control. The second option, of course, is much more expensive, but also more convenient, especially if the windows are high.

We install roller blinds on plastic windows

Today many people install in their homes and offices plastic windows, when decorating with roller blinds, the question arises: how to hang a roller blind on a plastic window without drilling and damaging the plastic box. This is especially true if the window guarantee is still valid, or the roller blind is temporary. Everything is simple enough.

To mount the brackets without drilling, you must choose a model with metal or plastic hook angles, which are hung on the opening sash of the window in its upper part, and the brackets are already attached to them.

Roller blind cassette systems can be fixed on a plastic window without damaging it using double-sided tape. Vertical guiding curtains are attached in the same way.

But it is still more reliable to install roller blinds on plastic windows using self-tapping screws. When buying a curtain, pay attention to the presence of instructions for self assembly and installation of all mechanisms. This will help you to assemble and fix the purchased roller blind without the help of a master.

Issue price

The cost of a roller blind is generally not high and depends on the system chosen and the type of fabric.

The simplest curtain with an open mechanism on a chain with a width of 120x175, depending on the type of fabric (opaque, plain or with a graphic pattern), costs between 900-1600 rubles. Rolled curtain "day-night" size 100x175 from 1900 rubles. Cassette system will cost more due to additional mechanisms and will average 5000-11000 rubles for a curtain measuring 120x175.

Specialization: master in the construction of plasterboard structures, finishing works and styling floor coverings... Installation of door and window blocks, decoration of facades, installation of electrical, plumbing and heating - I can give detailed advice on all types of work.

Blinds began to be widely used relatively recently, but have already gained immense popularity due to their attractiveness, functionality and ease of installation. In this review, I will tell you how to measure windows before purchasing products and how to fix them correctly. There is nothing complicated in the work, and almost anyone can handle them.

Overview of the main mounting options

It should be noted right away that roller blinds differ in their design and sizes, therefore they can be fixed in different ways. I will highlight five of them that are the most popular and used the most.

All of them are reliable and durable, so you need to choose the solution that best suits your needs and suits the construction of windows in your house or apartment.

Option number 1 - location above the window opening

This method is suitable for products that are larger than the window opening. That is, you get a canvas that will cover the entire window completely, this option is good where you need to minimize the penetration of light into the room. What should be noted here:

  • If you need to limit the penetration of light into the room as much as possible, then the canvas should be at least 10-15 cm wider than the window opening. Options look good in which the roller blind is the same width as the window sill;
  • The length of the canvas depends on the design of the window sill, if it protrudes beyond the wall, then naturally the roller blind should not go beyond it. If the window sill is made flush with the wall, then the structure can be 10 cm longer for more reliable protection against light penetration;
  • Again, if you need designs that simply limit the view, then the color can be anything. If you need to close the windows from light, then choose dark options, they are much more effective.

Let's figure out how to install such blinds. For work we need the following materials and tools:

Tools and materials Usage
Fast assembly dowels The standard size 6x40 is enough, usually there are 4 fasteners per product, but with a large width, their number may be more, you need to look in advance on the diagram that necessarily comes with the product and deal with this nuance.

Often included already underway fasteners, but they are too flimsy and small, so unpack the product and look at the dowels - if they are very small and made of thin fragile plastic, then it is better to buy better products, especially since their price is low

Roulette and level To carry out all the necessary measurements, you cannot do without a tape measure, and to set the structure evenly, you need a level. Eye work is not the best solution, very often later it turns out that the system is crooked, which spoils the whole result of the work
Rotary hammer with drill In order to make holes, we need a power tool with a drill. required diameter and length. If you don't have it, you can rent it for an hour, it's inexpensive, but you don't have to buy expensive equipment for multiple holes.
Screwdriver With its help, the screws are screwed into the dowels and the roller shutter box is fixed, most often the cross-shaped versions PH2 or PZ2 are used

Now let's figure out how to fix the structure with our own hands:

  • The roller blind must be wound on a drum, most often it is sold in this form. The structure must be attached to the wall and centered so that it is located exactly over the opening and the protrusions on both sides are the same. Also, do not forget to check the horizontal level and make marks for the self-tapping screws (after removing the side drum plugs to open the mounting holes);
  • Drilling is done with a hammer drill. If you have wooden wall, then you do not need to drill anything, you can simply screw the screws into the designated places.

If you have a plasterboard wall, then it is best to use "Drive" type dowels for fastening, they are simply screwed into the wall and you get a ready-made hole into which the screw is screwed. In such a dowel, you can ensure a reliable fixation of the drum.

  • Then the screws are screwed in, the drum holder is attached to the surface and attached. Everything is simple here, and the main thing is to press the element well, you should not apply too much effort, since the plastic can crack;
  • Then a shaft is installed on the rod with teeth, after which you need to put the curtain as it will be located in the open position, and snap the latch onto the chain, which is located closer to the wall. After that, the curtain is lowered to its lower position and the catch is placed on the outer chain. All the diagrams are on the instructions, so you won't get confused.

Option number 2 - location in the window opening

Another option, in which the roller blind covers the entire window. It is only good for structures that do not open, since the system will interfere with the sashes, remember this. The fastening process is in many ways similar to the above, so I will focus only on those aspects that differ from installation outside the opening:

  • You need to choose the optimal dimensions of the product, if everything is clear with the length, then you need to understand the width. The fact is that the drum on which the canvas is fixed is always a little wider, so your roller blind should be 4 centimeters narrower than the opening - 2 on each side, do not miss this important nuance;
  • Fastening can be done either above the window frame, if you have room, or to the top of the opening, which is much more common. The works do not differ from those described above, and the installation method depends on the type of base, it is important to align the position of the drum, if the opening is uneven, then it is better to put a plastic plate under the structure, the skew will lead to the system working poorly;

  • Due to the fact that the position of the roller blind is different, you must make sure that the selected option can be installed above the window, some modifications are only suitable for wall mounting.

Option number 3 - fixing to the window sash with self-tapping screws

This solution occurs most often, as it has whole line pluses:

  • The design does not interfere with opening one or two window sashes;
  • You can open the curtain on one half, and leave the other closed;
  • There is an option for decorating a window when different canvases are used;

  • You can use both conventional options and designs with guides that allow you to fix the blind in the desired position and prevent it from dangling. This option is especially good for skylights that are tilted.

As for the choice of roller blinds for sashes, the general rules are simple:

  • The width should be about 4 cm wider than the glass, so that 2 cm of the frame is closed on each side... This indicator may be higher if the structure does not create interference, and it is undesirable to make it less, since gaps may form at the edges;
  • The length is usually selected based on the height of the glass plus 6-8 centimeters, but again deviations are acceptable if they do not affect functionality and do not worsen appearance constructions.

Fastening of products is carried out according to the following algorithm:

  • First of all, you need to remove the plugs from the drum and position it so that the canvas protrudes at the same distance from both sides of the glass;
  • Then you need to secure the cassette with four self-tapping screws - two on each side. Some advise you to pre-drill the holes, but if you have special self-tapping screws, then you can carry out the work and so - the plastic is easy to screw in;

  • It is necessary to glue the guides, for this, first of all, the plastic surface is degreased. Next, the protective layer is removed from the double-sided tape glued to the guides, they are inserted into the groove on the cassette and strongly pressed against the frame, make sure that the elements are located strictly vertically;

  • Next, you need to carefully stretch the canvas along the guides and straighten it, it should move smoothly and not warp;
  • Lower the blind to its lowest point and insert the clip on the inner chain. After that, you can put on the plugs and pull the canvas up to the top so that it protrudes by about 1 cm, and put the retainer on the outer chain. The work has been successfully completed.

Option number 4 - gluing to the sash

Let's figure out how to attach blinds to plastic windows without screwing self-tapping screws into them. It does not always make sense to make holes, since if you decide to remove the structure, then holes will remain on the surface, which are unlikely to be repaired.

Therefore, I will tell you about another mounting option, which is simple and does not leave damage to the frame:

  • It is best to use fasteners such as "Easy fix", these are small pieces of very reliable double-sided tape. First, you need to mark the position of the structure, after which you need to degrease the surface so that the fastening is more reliable;
  • Next, you need to attach the holders at the locations, remove the lower protective film, and the element is pressed against the surface as tightly as possible;

  • On the glued holders, lateral shaft clamps are placed, after which the structure is assembled, and all the above steps are taken to set up the system. If necessary, the guides are also glued.

To fix the curtain in the lower position, you can use a piece of Velcro, which is also glued to both the frame and the canvas.

I want to note that my blinds, installed in the same way, have been standing for five years, nothing has fallen off either on the deaf or on the opening sash, so if someone talks about the unreliability of this solution, do not believe it.

Option # 5 - spring brackets for opening sashes

Let's figure out how to hang blinds on plastic windows without self-tapping screws and gluing, this option is only suitable for opening parts, it is very simple to implement:

  • It is necessary to open the sash of the window on, and then put on the upper end of the frame two brackets that will hold the structure. The most important thing is to position them at the width you need;

  • A drum is inserted into the holder, after which all the necessary settings are made and, if necessary, guides are attached, which are glued, as in the above cases;

  • After connecting, check how the window closes, if everything is fine, then you can use the structure as usual.

If you have a window with both a blind and an opening sash, then the choice of the option of how to attach the roller blind on the part that does not open is up to you. I would advise gluing, as it is both simple and reliable.

Output

Mounting the blinds is a simple process, especially if you glue the structure or use brackets, because you do not need any tools to work. The video in this article will help you understand some of the nuances we have considered even better, and if you do not understand individual details, then write your questions in the comments under the review.

Do-it-yourself installation of roller blinds on PVC windows can be done quickly and with high quality if the structure is carefully fixed in accordance with the technology. Learn to install roller blinds on plastic windows is not at all difficult, just read this article to the end.

Roll cassettes for balconies

Installing roller blinds on a plastic window is an excellent way to save space in tight spaces. In addition, cassette rolls are graceful, modern design(you can always find the best option for color scheme, texture and style),

They are also distinguished by high functional qualities (they reliably protect the room from sunlight and dust, prevent the rapid cooling of heated rooms).

Installation of roller blinds on balcony window fillings is performed by specialized organizations that manufacture cassette blinds, but in order to save money, you can refuse to install it by doing it yourself.

There are several ways of attaching blinds to plastic windows, you will need to choose the most optimal option even at the stage of measurements before manufacturing products: when installing in an opening; on the wall; on the sash.

Mounting methods

Fastening a roller blind to a plastic window can be done in two ways:

  1. No drilling required.
  2. Using the drilling method.

It is very important to determine how the window sill will be used before fixing the cornice. If you plan to fill it with pots with indoor plants, the installation can be performed on outboard brackets, which will not shade the sunlight, which is necessary for the photosynthesis of plants. In other cases, fastening of the eaves of cassette rolls is provided for different structures: to the ceiling, walls, on a window sash or in a skylight.

Pre-drilling holes

Detailed instructions for installing roller blinds on windows with your own hands using drilling will help you quickly and efficiently fix the product. Consider the option of how to fix roller blinds on plastic windows yourself, carrying out preliminary work on drilling holes.

If the blinds are attached to the sash, then the upper bar is mounted on the window structure using self-tapping screws. Self-tapping screws are best used with a protective coating so that the effect of condensation does not provoke the development of corrosive processes.

To begin with, on the upper part of the glass unit, it is required to mark the attachment points, you can drill small holes. After that, the holes for fixing the brackets are aligned with the drilled holes and fixed with self-tapping screws. To ensure reliable fastenings, self-tapping screws must be screwed in with a screwdriver. After mounting the brackets, you can install roller blinds on plastic windows (directly on the sash).

It is necessary to make two holes in the frame, which are made under the lower glazing beads of each sash. A fishing line will be threaded through the holes, which descends from the top bar. The lower holes for the fishing line must be drilled exactly under the outlets in the upper strip of the roller blind on the plastic window.

Plugs are attached to the lower ends of the fishing line, after which the fishing line is pulled, and the rolls are considered fixed. Hanging roller blinds on plastic windows is not difficult, you just need to have some building skills and special power tools.

Watch the video how roller shutters are attached using drilling.

Installation of blinds without drilling structures

It is not always necessary to pre-drill window fillings when installing rolls - the way to hang cassette blinds without drilling will be described below.

Installation of roller blinds without drilling holes is used if the blinds are periodically removed for a long time (for example, they are removed from the windows in winter period). In this case, for a long time, holes from fasteners will be visible on the sashes, which will significantly reduce the decorative effect of the window and the entire interior. But how to hang roller blinds on plastic windows without deteriorating the appearance of the window opening?

There are two ways to install roller blinds using gentle methods:

  • The use of brackets that are fixed to the upper part of the profile - this method has proven itself perfectly when installing products on swing doors.
  • The use of double-sided tape allows you to mount the bracket without disfiguring holes, the blinds can be easily removed for cleaning. Fasteners may loosen, especially when exposed to high or low temperatures, excessive humidity, or sunlight. The repair consists in replacing the adhesive tape (replacing a strip of adhesive tape). The method of fastening products to scotch tape is indispensable for blind and swing doors.

Window curtains (blinds) on PVC windows cannot be attached obliquely, the geometric shape will visually change immediately, which will be noticeable and ugly, therefore, when drilling holes, accuracy is simply necessary. When fastened to tape, an incorrectly installed piece can be easily removed and reinforced again, without disturbing the harmony and verticality of the blinds installation. The element to be fixed is immediately securely fixed in place; it is necessary to glue the bracket with careful and verified movements.

Features of rolls installation

A roller blind (roll) is best placed on the window sash. This installation method does not interfere with the opening of the window sashes, without requiring the shutters to move or to be temporarily removed. Nothing interferes with the movement of the flaps, they open and close comfortably, the rolls do not interfere with movement, do not wrinkle, do not break. This is especially important when the blinds are made of brittle plastic.

Roller blinds are beautiful, practical and comfortable

Ready-made blinds kits are supplied complete with fixings and also include detailed instructions manufacturer on the best options for securing products. It is necessary to follow the manufacturer's recommendations, without violating the blinds fastening technology, then the rolls will serve for a long time without the need for replacement.

You now know detailed instructions on how to hang roller blinds on balcony openings yourself. The only thing left is to choose the blinds, the roller blinds will be installed with high quality and in compliance with the instructions.

Plastic windows have long ceased to be an attribute of office interiors. Today they are used both in old Khrushchev and Stalinist buildings, as well as in modern new buildings. But so that such glazing does not introduce dissonance into the atmosphere of home comfort, you need to be able to choose the right curtains for plastic windows that are suitable for a living room.

What tricks the designers do not use to make plastic windows look cozy at home: they put the usual vents, add bindings. But if the windows in your apartment still resemble office windows, curtains will help fix the situation. Regular floor-length curtains and tulle curtains on high eaves do not harmonize with such glazing. Here we need suitable curtains for plastic windows that will not violate the laws of aesthetics.

To decorate your plastic windows according to the latest design, you should pay attention to the following types of curtains:

  • Corrugated curtains- also known as “Pleated blinds”. The anti-static fabric gathers like an accordion when you need to roll up the curtain and let the sunlight into the room. Depending on the design, the window can be slightly opened both from the bottom and from the top.
  • Roman curtains- in unfolded form, they are a straight piece of fabric, but when you need to open the window glass, they, starting from the bottom edge, gather into beautiful horizontal deep folds. It is quite possible to sew such a design yourself with your own hands.
  • Roller blinds- perfect for both living rooms and for the kitchen or balcony. They are made of fabric, and fastening is done with Velcro or brackets.

There are open and closed types of roller blinds. Open ones are fabric twisted into a dense roller, which is placed directly above the window. Closed when folded, they hide in a special cassette and are practically invisible.

Types of sun blinds on plastic windows

For owners of apartments with windows facing the south side, the actual issue is the choice of curtains, employees reliable protection from getting into the room of sunlight on hot summer days. Increased requirements are imposed on such products.

There is a special type of "blackout" roller blinds, which does not allow light to pass through.

In particular, they should be:

  • Made of high quality fabric that will not fade in the sun;
  • Reflect the sun's rays to protect the apartment not only from bright light, but also from the heat in sultry weather.

For this purpose, those who prefer roller blinds need to choose a product made of heat-resistant and opaque blackout material. Such fabric provides a comfortable sleep even in the conditions of white nights, as it is able to block the sun's rays by up to 100%.

A popular option for plastic windows is day / night sun shades, also known as zebra. They are easy to recognize by distinctive feature- an unusual design in which transparent horizontal stripes alternate with opaque lamellas. Due to this, it is possible to adjust the level of penetration of bright sunlight into the room, up to complete shading of the room.

Blinds are effective in combating the bright scorching sun. V home interior Blinds with wooden slats or horizontal fabric stripes will fit well.

The original appearance of plastic windows will be given by multi-textured blinds with vertical slats. Combinations of wood, fabric, plastic, metal allow you to create unique compositions that will become a unique highlight of the interior. Such products are often supplemented with lambrequins.

Features of fastening for curtains on plastic windows

Curtains for plastic windows do not have the usual hooks or loops, they do not use eyelets. Therefore, such curtains cannot be hung on ordinary cornices and not threaded into baguettes. To mount roller blinds or blinds, it will be necessary to mount the structure directly on the plastic profile.

There are different installation methods.

For curtains on the fixing window, you can use:

  • Latches;
  • Self-tapping screws;
  • Brackets;
  • Liquid Nails;
  • Double sided tape.

Each method has both its own tangible advantages and some disadvantages. Self-tapping screws and brackets, if used carelessly, will break the tightness of a plastic window, but they hold a heavy structure well. It is recommended to fasten light curtains with Velcro. Having used liquid nails for installation, it will be difficult in the future to replace the old curtains with new ones. The latches are not suitable for all types of structures, but they cling directly to the window sash and it is easy to replace open-type roller blinds with them.

How to attach curtains to plastic windows with your own hands

The most popular type of fastening for common roller blinds, suitable for a plastic window, is fixing directly to the window. To avoid drilling unnecessary holes in the profile, it is recommended to use removable latches that can be attached directly to the sash.

For this:

  1. It is necessary to first degrease the joints of the plastic and the latch.
  2. Cut a suitable size of double-sided tape that will hold the latch and the window sash together to secure it.
  3. Fasten the holders of the movable shaft to the installed latches.
  4. Install a shaft with a curtain between them.
  5. Attach a spike with a gear for the chain mechanism to the shaft.

There are several options for attaching such curtains, depending on the size and shape of the window, as well as the wishes of the owners of the house for the design of window openings. The method of fastening must be determined at the time of ordering, since the dimensions of future roller blinds depend on it.

Depending on the type, size of the window, as well as the design solution of the interior of the room, the blinds are attached:

  • to the wall above the window;
  • to the ceiling;
  • to the window opening;
  • to the frame;

Installing curtains over the window is also good for a small room, especially if you choose roller blinds of the same color with the walls. In this case, the space will visually increase.

For a wide and deep window opening, fastening to the frame is more suitable. Due to this, the window sill remains freely accessible, and the large curtain will not focus on itself.

Types of roller blinds designs

Distinguish between open and closed roller blinds. The latter are distinguished by the fact that the roll of fabric is located inside a special box, which performs protective and decorative functions. It is especially recommended to hang such curtains on wooden windows... For them, you can choose an option with a box made of a material that repeats the color and texture of the wood from which the window frames are made.

Cassette roller blinds

When installing closed blinds, vertical plastic guides are often additionally installed, which provide reliable fixation of the canvas and complete artificial darkness in the closed position. Thanks to them, the roller blind hangs parallel to the glass, regardless of how low it is. You can fix the guides with double-sided tape.

How to fix roller blinds

To properly hang the blinds with your own hands, you will need the following tools:

  • level;
  • drill;
  • screwdriver or screwdriver.

In addition, you need to prepare a pencil, screws or dowels (if the roller blind will be attached to the wall), perhaps double-sided tape will come in handy.

Open type on self-tapping screws

Such an installation is the most reliable, but you need to remember that it will require drilling in a window profile or wall. If later you need to replace the blinds with ordinary ones, holes will remain.

Instructions for installing fabric roller blinds with your own hands on self-tapping screws:

Closed type on self-tapping screws

Do-it-yourself fastening of a closed-type roller blind has a number of features. In addition to the brackets, you will need to fix the box and guides. To do this, you need double-sided tape.

Installation instructions for closed roller blinds:

  1. Installation of curtains should be started by removing the packaging and checking the package contents.
  2. Thoroughly degrease the installation site of the roller shutter with white spirit, paying particular attention to the fastening points of the guides.
  3. Define right and left guides. Attach one of them to the glazing bead to make sure that the guide fits snugly against the junction line of the lower glazing bead with the window frame, if design solution window decoration does not provide any other option. If necessary, you can shorten the guides using the mock knife at the top to maintain the factory cut.
  4. With a pencil, mark the top points of the location of the guides.
  5. Remove the protective tape from the adhesive base of the protective box mounting pads and its side covers.
  6. Attach to the guide marks, align the box with them. Secure it lightly with an adhesive layer on the mounting pads. Unwind the fabric to a length corresponding to the height of the glass to make sure that the fabric falls freely parallel to the glazing beads.
  7. Using a pencil and a spirit level, make marks for the placement of the fasteners, and then drill for them.
  8. Fasten one side of the box with a self-tapping screw and unwind the fabric again. If the canvas is lowered strictly parallel to the glazing beads, fix the box with two self-tapping screws on each side. Put on the side covers.

  9. Remove the protective tape from the adhesive layer on the guides and glue them according to the marks made.
  10. Perform the actions specified in paragraphs. 8, 9 and 10 instructions for installing open roller blinds.

With spring brackets

Fastening roller shutters to spring brackets is possible only for the design of opening sashes. Such an installation is good in that it preserves the integrity of the profile, since it does not require drilling.

Instructions for installing roller blinds with your own hands using spring brackets:

  1. Remove the packaging, check the package contents, assemble the curtain. Attach it to the sash and mark the location of the fasteners.
  2. Hang the spring brackets onto the sash at the marked points.
  3. Put the side covers on the brackets.
  4. Insert the shaft with the curtain into the mountings, unfold and roll the canvas several times to make sure that it is installed level and moves freely up and down.
  5. Install the down stop on the chain and the clips (magnets or Velcro) for the weight.

On double-sided tape

Such an installation is suitable for the design of small sashes, both deaf and opening. Thanks to him, the surface of the window profile is also not disturbed. Fastening is carried out using mounting elements with an adhesive layer on the back.

Fastening roller blinds to tape is carried out in the same order as when installing roller blinds on a spring bracket. The only difference is that the reliability of the fastening will need to first degrease the surface in the places where the fasteners are glued. This installation method is not recommended for roller blinds. big size, since it does not provide sufficient fastening reliability.
