Storm trays. Storm sewage at home: trays, wells, pipes, do-it-yourself installation

Linear drainage systems significantly extend the service life of the roadbed and building foundation. They protect the soil from leaching, basements - from flooding, the formation of dampness and fungus.

The system consists of drainage trays (gutters through which water flows), cast-iron storm grids (protect trays from household waste, leaves, protect pedestrians from injury), sand traps (trap sand and debris before water enters the underground sewer).

Surface drainage design

The design of drainage trays with a cast iron grate has simple scheme, therefore, the installation of systems is easy. They do not require large-scale earthworks to be laid. It is enough to level the surface of the site and form small slopes on both sides of the channels.

Systems cope with drainage from large areas. Concrete products are ideal for high traffic areas.

Types of drainage trays

The chute is the main element of the drainage system through which the collected water is transported. These peculiar gutters differ in a number of parameters:

  • Manufacturing material. Our site contains plastic, polymer concrete and concrete, as well as cast iron models. Products of the first type are lightweight and easy to install. Concrete and cast iron structures cope with more stress.
  • The diameter of the passage channel (or the width and height of the chute). This indicator is calculated at the design stage and depends on the catchment area, rainfall and other factors.
  • Load class. Some models are designed for pedestrian areas, others can be used in areas of heavy traffic of trucks and special equipment.

Drainage trays also differ in equipment. Some models are supplied complete with grill and plugs.

STEELOT sells trays and other accessories for surface drainage systems. The elements presented in our store have a more favorable price in comparison with analogues made of alternative materials (steel, plastic). Moreover, they are designed for the same load, have equal throughput.

Our experts will tell you about the advisability of using each element of the linear drainage system, advise you to buy the right ones for you. Another pleasant moment of cooperation with us is free delivery within Moscow.

Scope of application

  • park zones;
  • airports;
  • highways and urban roads;
  • ports and docks;
  • car washes;
  • playgrounds;
  • parking lots and parking lots.

A high-quality drainage system from all concrete objects (building foundations, roadbed, concrete plates etc.) allows you to ensure the durability and strength of the structure, from which water is taken. As a result, the structure does not lose its strength under the possible negative impact moisture. To create a sewage drainage system, storm gutters are widely used, which have the shape of an elongated gutter and are covered with a lattice cover on top. This design allows you to build in a sewer or rain gutter without losing the flatness of the road overlap.

Important: Such trays for storm sewers are laid taking into account the terrain, and the direction of water drainage will be carried out in the direction of a private or central sewage system.

In the manufacture of stormwater trays, a wide variety of materials are used, from cast iron to polymer plastic. But at the same time, all products have a typical design and comply with the established standards EN 1433. In the range of products offered and manufactured, you can find the following standard design of trays:

  • Stormwater gutter, made in the form of a simple long U-shaped or rounded gutter without a cover... Such a product is mounted without additional reinforcement in a pre-prepared trench with access to the central water collection point.
  • Storm gutter made in the form of a standard elongated gutter, but already with a reliable lattice cover along the entire length of the product. The grill prevents various types of debris from entering the sewer drain and prevents blockages in the drainage system.
  • Slotted shower trays... This type of construction looks like a long gutter with a slot for water to drain into it.
  • L-shaped shower trays... These products look like slotted ones, only instead of a central hole in the tray they have a special protrusion in their upper part, made in the shape of the letter G. Similar products are suitable for installation, both in domestic and in more difficult industrial conditions (on highways, highways , runways, etc.).

As for the methods of manufacturing stormwater trays, they completely depend on the specific material from which the products will be made. So, in the case of using plastic polymers with additives, the extrusion method is used (extrusion under high pressure and at hot temperatures). If concrete or metals (cast iron, steel) are used, then the casting method is used here.

Types of sewer gutters

  • Cast iron products for water drainage;
  • Concrete gutters for storm sewers;
  • Plastic constructions.

Let's take a closer look at each type.

Cast iron

  • ISO 185 - includes lamellar graphite grains;
  • EN1563 is a metal with added spherical graphite grain.

Important: in production, metal is used not only for the pallet itself, but also for the manufacture of the uppermost grate. The finished product is coated with a layer of hot zinc in order to prevent metal corrosion during operation.

This powerful and durable product, thanks to its enhanced tensile and compressive strength, is only used in industrial and demanding applications such as airports, long motorways and runways.

At the same time, cast-iron rain trays are large enough. So, the maximum length of one gutter can be 50 cm, and its width - 20 cm.

Concrete trays

Popular products for urban applications. Many of us often observe the operation of an urban drainage system during a summer rainstorm. The manufacture of concrete sewer gutters is carried out using special polymer additives or reinforcing fiberglass in concrete mix... Thus, the finished product is more durable than standard reinforced concrete products.

Concrete gutters for stormwater are produced by vibration casting, that is, a mold with reinforced concrete, but still soft, mixture is immersed on a vibration table for greater shrinkage of the composition. This allows you to get a high density, and hence the strength of the finished product.

Concrete storm gutters can be used both in private housing construction and in the construction of complex industrial or urban facilities.

The parameters of concrete trays vary within the following limits:

  • The length of the finished extended gutter is 500-4000 mm .;
  • The width and height of the finished stormwater tray can be as follows - from 140x150 mm to 430x880 mm.

Plastic gutters for storm sewers

Plastic rain trays are a convenient product for use in home building and sewerage systems, as well as for laying near the railroad bed.

For the manufacture of such trays for stormwater, polypropylene is used with high-quality mineral additives. In combination with the extrusion method of production, it is possible to achieve high strength of the finished gutters. Plastic trays for stormwater drainage and for drainage of ground surface water have the following advantages:

  • Inert to most chemically aggressive substances;
  • High resistance to mechanical damage;
  • Resistance to increased loads. On average, plastic stormwater trays are capable of withstanding loads of up to 50-60 t / m2.
  • At the same time, plastic trays for storm water and surface water drainage can be operated in a wide temperature range from -50 to +120 degrees Celsius.

The parameters of plastic gutters are mainly as follows:

  • Length - 1 meter;
  • Width - 0.14-0.5 meters;
  • Height - 0.06-0.79 meters;
  • The approximate diameter of the rounded gutter is 10 cm.

Rules for installing trays for water drainage

In order to properly mount stormwater trays at any facility, you must adhere to clear rules. Otherwise, the drainage system will not have the desired effect and will lead at least to blockages, as a maximum to waterlogging of the area or damage to the concrete base of buildings, paths, etc.

So, it is important to consider and observe one important point- when installing stormwater trays, it is worth remembering that the soil tends to freeze to a depth of 1-1.2 meters in the cold season. In addition, the same soil is prone to deformation in the form of heaving in the warm season. Thus, the trough system for draining water from the site is naturally pushed out of the ground.

Therefore, choose and install stormwater trays according to the following principles:

  • Bandwidth the product you have chosen should be calculated according to the formula = the amount of precipitation on average per month multiplied by 25%. Thus, it will be possible to choose the right tray for stormwater in a specific area.
  • The material from which the gutter will be made must be appropriate for your facility. It is unlikely that a powerful cast-iron tray will be the right solution for household use in the garden or in the country.
  • When laying stormwater trays, observe the slope towards the sewer at the rate of 1 cm per one meter of the product.
  • For a high-quality water drainage system, you must apply and good backing under the gutters. It is better to use a sand and gravel pillow 10 cm thick, or at least a crushed stone bed of the same thickness.
  • Grilles for domestic use on the drainage tray, you can choose lighter ones. Galvanized steel will do. In addition, it is better to fix all the grilles with the help of special locking joints.
  • It is also important to equip and sand collection system in the gutter drainage system. This will prevent siltation and contamination of communications.

How to properly install a storm sewer system?

  • First of all, the location of the water drainage system to the sewer tank is outlined. For this, you can use simple pegs and twine.
  • After that, it is worth finding out the average amount of precipitation per month. This can be done by requesting meteorological data from the hydrometeorological service for your region.
  • According to the data obtained, the recommended throughput diameter of the stormwater tray is selected.
  • To form a trench for laying, you need to remove the soil in a volume equal to the parameters of the gutters plus 30-40 cm.It is important that the depth of the ditch is 10 cm greater than the height of the gutter.
  • A layer of sand and gravel cushion or crushed stone is poured into the formed trench, which is well rammed.

Important: the upper edge of the mounted tray must be 5 mm below the ground (track). This will allow the upper grate of the system to be laid unhindered and to ensure a high-quality drainage of water towards the central collector.

For greater reliability, central drainage systems can be fixed concrete mortar in the ditch.

Important: complex concrete trays are best used for central systems water drainage. And on the adjoining territory (near the foundation), high-quality polymer gutters are suitable.

Drainage trays are designed to drain stormwater, thawed, groundwater... They transport water from the site to the sewer to avoid its accumulation in an inappropriate place. Although the installation does not require a lot of preparatory and installation works, it is necessary to master some of the subtleties in order to carry out the installation of the drainage trays correctly.

Features and purpose

The drainage drain is a groove made of plastic, metal or concrete, which is designed to drain water from areas, roads, sidewalks and redirect it to the necessary places. The gutter is usually equipped with a grate designed to prevent large debris from entering the storm sewer and clogging it.

In some cases, resourceful owners redirect water using such trays to the beds or trees, making it easier to irrigate. However, this is only possible in areas where the rains are not very intense, otherwise the plants will be supplied with too much water, which will wash out the soil. As a result, this approach can lead to waterlogging of the soil.

For domestic needs, two types of trays are used: engineering and communication trays and road communication trays. The first type is mounted under each pipe so that in the event of an accident, water does not spill. The second type is located along the paths, sidewalks, next to the garage. In both cases, it is important to pay attention to the strength of the tray itself and the lattice, to what kind of load it can withstand, as well as the ability of the lattice to deform.

Device and types

The storm sewer device is quite simple. The gutter is a gutter that can be U-shaped or U-shaped, depending on the material. On top of such a drainage drain, there is a grate into which rainwater is drained and further redirected to the sewer.

Depending on the permissible load, such drainage channels are divided into groups:

  • A15 have a low degree of stress, so they can only be mounted in relatively dry places: on sports grounds, along the tracks country houses, in areas where park and bike paths are located;
  • B125 are more stable, so they can be mounted along roads for passenger cars;
  • S250 suitable for installation in car washes and garages;
  • D400 suitable for installation along roads intended for all types of transport, as well as in industrial areas;
  • E600 laid next to industrial enterprises and warehouses;
  • F900 suitable for installation near military bases, airports and airfields.

Gutters are divided into groups not only based on the load on them, but also on the basis of the materials from which they are made. The most common groups of raw materials used for the manufacture of gutters should be considered in more detail.

Plastic

For the manufacture of plastic storm drains, polypropylene and HDPE are used - polyethylene low pressure... All plastic models, due to the fact that they cannot be called durable, can only be attributed to categories A-C. Plastic models are lightweight, and do-it-yourself installation will not cause any particular difficulties. If the task is to equip the territory with gutters for water drainage country house, then it is recommended to choose exactly plastic models.

To increase the strength of such drainage systems, they are equipped with stiffeners. Reinforced plastic options are recommended to be installed near garages, since it is precisely there that it is required to use catchment drains of categories B-C.

Without a grid, the weight of one plastic gutter does not exceed one and a half kilograms with a standard length of 1 m.The width can vary between 7-30 cm.

The grille is additionally purchased.

It is recommended to choose a relatively light option, for example made of galvanized steel. And also options from "stainless steel" are suitable. Depending on where the drain is planned to be located, the strength of the lattice should also differ.

For example, near the garage, the grill should be such that it can support the weight of the car if you accidentally run over it.

Polymer sandy options are used at facilities under construction, as well as in underground parking lots. There are classes A and B.

Metallic

Metal storm trays are a holdover, as it seems to many. Most remember the times when such gutters were everywhere on the streets. However, the metal does not lose its relevance to this day. It is difficult to find a material that is stronger and more convenient to use. The only bad thing is the majority metal products sooner or later corrode.

The most reliable are cast iron gutters. In terms of strength, they can only be compared with concrete products, while they are able to withstand a lot of weight. Cast iron storm drains can be found near military bases and other military facilities, where there is a large flow of flowing waters. Unfortunately, cast iron products have an impressive weight, which makes them not the most convenient to install. However, this is where their disadvantages end.

Steel gutters can be of two types: galvanized steel and stainless steel. And in fact, and in another case, the options are designed for a much lower load than cast iron, but this does not mean that there are no places of use for them. With the right shapes and placement, they will last just as much. So, steel metal structures can be placed along the roads for cars, they also fit perfectly into park areas.

Reinforced concrete

These watersheds combine all the advantages of concrete and metal structures... They are just as durable, have a huge range of load resistance categories. Working with reinforced concrete is easier than just iron, so there is a fairly large selection of drainage forms. There are not only traditional rectangular options, but also round ones.

Reinforced concrete trays are used not only for industrial, but also for household construction. They are easy to install, despite their relatively high weight (which, however, is much lighter than cast iron or plain concrete). Produced as usual drainage trays and slotted trays for heating mains.

Remarkably, reinforced concrete trays should be used when the water has an aggressive composition. For example, the acid-base balance of pH is disturbed in it. Depending on the composition of the water, a similar design is also chosen, since some brands of concrete simply dissolve under the influence of alkali.

Reinforced concrete drains are cheaper than metal counterparts when comparing samples of the same category in terms of resistance to loads. During transportation, it is necessary to adhere to some rules, among which - try to avoid shock loads, otherwise the gutter may split.

Composite

Composite trays are modern version concrete. Gutters of this type serve several times longer than concrete counterparts, but at the same time they are not inferior to them in terms of performance. Composite variations have some advantages:

  • less weight compared to concrete gutters;
  • ease of installation;
  • ease of transportation;
  • increased water permeability due to the smooth surface.

Thanks to special properties materials used for the manufacture of this type of gutters, they can be cleaned not only manually, but also mechanically. The trays are vandal-proof, despite the fact that they are assembled by hand. It turns out to be not so easy to separate parts in the future.

Composite gutters are recommended to be installed in areas with cold climates, since composite materials tolerate extremely low temperatures well, without shrinking or deforming. But it should also be noted that in the composition of the mixture used for the manufacture of such trays, there are no harmful substances that can harm human health or the environment.

If there is a risk that water will be supplied with such force that it splashes and erodes the soil around it, then it is better to give preference to composite water intake trays - their design prevents splashing. And also due to its low weight, the gutter will not move under its own weight and under the weight of water if it is located on a slope.

Polymer concrete

Polymer concrete channels do not have a wide spread in loads. As a rule, they only apply to classes A-C, but at the same time they cope perfectly with the diversion of storm, melt and groundwater. They combine some of the advantages of concrete and plastic trays, but at the moment there are various materials that are superior to polymer concrete in their characteristics, so they practically refused to use polymer concrete gutters.

Polymer concrete gutter is smooth on the inside, which significantly increases its ability to pass water. And also due to its smoothness, the tray does not require frequent cleaning, since it cleans itself as the water passes through it. Preventive cleaning should be done twice a year: in early spring after a significant part of the snow has melted, and in the fall after leaf fall.

Polymer concrete has an increased service life. So, with proper care and compliance with the established load standards, the polymer concrete tray can last up to 30 years. The seams are fixed to each other using a waterproof sealant FIX-O-FIX, which reliably glues the parts together and prevents them from moving apart.

Polymer concrete products are lighter than concrete ones, so they are easier to transport and install.

Manual installation cannot be performed. Be sure to use a special technique.

Specifications

Depending on what material the trays are made of, they can have a number of features. Today, plastic options are most often used, so it makes sense to consider them in more detail. So, polymer products are divided into the following types:

  • universal;
  • especially durable;
  • wear-resistant;
  • deep.

The first trays in this classification - universal - are recognized the best choice most of the specialists. This is due to the fact that they are able to drain rather large volumes of water, while they have small dimensions.

Particularly durable products are designed to be located in "difficult" locations such as military bases, for example. They have stiffening ribs that increase their strength properties. In a private house, such a tray is suitable for location near the garage.

Wear-resistant trays are needed in order to drain a large volume of water for a long time. They combine the properties of extra strong gutters and anti-vandal installations, have a strong grid, and are equipped with stiffening ribs. Mostly suitable for location in personal plots, and not for industrial needs.

Deep trays are needed to increase throughput. They are large, wide and deep, so they are great for low-lying areas where water accumulates.

Criterias of choice

To do right choice, it is necessary to take into account several parameters at once. The durability and appropriateness of the chosen option in each specific situation depends on how correctly each of them is assessed.

  • First you need to determine the degree of permissible load. If you choose a tray with a lower throughput, it will not cope and will quickly fail. If you buy a tray of too high a load class, then this will turn out to be an unreasonable waste of funds, and will also cause some difficulties during installation.
  • The second criterion is the dimensions of the tray. A narrow slotted product is not always suitable, since an abundance of water may be observed in the area, which cannot be sufficiently eliminated through a small hole. For example, in rainy areas along highways place large gutters so that all storm water is removed from the asphalt pavement in time.

In order to carry out the correct choice of the dimensions of the gutter, you can use special programs or contact a specialized service. They will calculate the volume of water passing through the drain, taking into account the area of the site and the correction factor for the drainage.

Section calculation

In order to choose a tray with the required section, experts have come up with the following table. It should be borne in mind that all calculations are only advisory in nature and in no way are reference.

Diameter, mm

Please note that this table was compiled to determine the diameter of rainwater pipes, but it is also suitable for gutters.

Surface drainage system

Drainage systems are designed primarily to collect rainwater and melt water, not groundwater. In the future, they must carry out the transfer of water to the sewer, where such water will pass filtration and return to nature, for example, evaporate or merge into rivers. Surface drainage is a must during construction. According to engineering standards, each construction site must be equipped with such a system even at the planning stage.

Surface drainage systems are available in several configurations, which are expressed in assembly systems. Thus, each of the systems is designed for a certain volume of water, the magnitude of the loads, and more. Drainage trays are used in linear surface drainage, the purpose of which is to collect water in large volumes. This type functions most successfully when it comes to asphalt areas, highways and the like.

A prerequisite for the installation of such a system is the slope. If the terrain is flat and has no slope, you need to look at other types.

In some cases, it is required to install sand traps, the purpose of which is to collect garbage, filter sand, large particles, which, in theory, can clog the gutters. Their presence greatly increases the service life of storm drains.

The constituents

If we talk about industrial storm sewers, then it consists of several elements.

  • Storm water inlet. It is designed to drain water from the surface locally. To prevent debris, leaves, etc. from clogging the storm water inlet and other elements, a siphon is used. It serves as a kind of partition. A special basket is intended for collecting garbage.
  • Rain well. Serves for transportation Wastewater... It is being built only at the end of the assembly of the entire storm sewer. They are also needed in cases where it is necessary to regularly drain large areas of soil in a short period of time.
  • Tray. Actually, what we see on the surface: a trench made of materials resistant to water. The tray transports water, moving it from the site.
  • Pipes. Mounted at rain gutters. Through these pipes, water subsequently moves into the sewer itself. The pipes are located underground so as not to spoil the general view of the site.

Installation tools

In order to install the water inlet gutters, you will need to buy some tools. It may turn out that you already have some of these tools, for others you will have to go to a special equipment store. In any case, the tools cannot be called scarce - they can be found in any large construction hypermarket.

  • Shovel. It will serve to make a trench under the tray. Make sure the bit is sharply sharpened. This will greatly facilitate the work.
  • Buckets. It is advisable to have at least two buckets. They are useful for transporting sand to the installation site.
  • Concrete mixer. In some cases, the owners decide to firmly anchor the gutter in place with concrete. In these cases, it is better to mix it not by hand, but using a special machine. Then the concrete will turn out to be homogeneous and will lay down evenly.

  • Hacksaw. With the help of this simple tool, you have to saw the details. Depending on what material the gutter is made of, you will need a certain type of hacksaw: for metal, capable of sawing concrete, and so on.
  • Hammer. It is needed for fastening parts to each other, adjusting shapes and simply tamping the tray in place.
  • Saw or grinder. If you choose a metal gutter, then get a diamond saw or diamond blade for a grinder, especially if you are dealing with strong metals such as cast iron. Then there will be no problems with fast sawing of parts.

Installation technology

It makes no sense to consider the technology of installation in public buildings or commercial facilities, since for such work, as a rule, a team of professionals is hired. It's a completely different matter - editing on your own personal plot... Then it is really worthwhile to study the work better, so that, if necessary, carry out the installation yourself or immediately see if your workers violate the technology.

After the tray is selected, the instruments are prepared, it is necessary to carry out some preparatory work. These include the application of markings to the ground. This is done in order to clearly understand where exactly the drainage system will be located, how wide it can be made. Keep in mind that it is best to locate such objects in lowlands, on the slopes of hills, if they exist in your area. Then the water will collect there, and not accumulate somewhere on the site, leading to the leaching of nutrients from the soil.

And it is also worth taking into account which type of tray connection you have chosen. This refers to its connection to the sewer. It is necessary to carry out work in a strictly agreed sequence, and connect only when all the parts of the drain are assembled, fastened and sealed.

Subsequence

To produce self-assembly drain tray, use the following step-by-step instructions.

  • Dig trenches for the installation of trays. There should be as many of them as the drainage system is planned to be installed. Pay attention to the dimensions of the recesses, their depth and width: the drainage channel must completely fit there.
  • For a complete installation and subsequent work, you need to place storm drains at an angle. If you make them on a plane, then the water will stagnate in them, and not drain where it should. The slope fluctuates greatly: it can be one meter, or it can be equal to only 1 cm.
  • Trenches dug in compliance with the above condition must be well compacted. For this, you can use ordinary sand, which has a drainage effect.

  • Pay special attention to the next point if you plan to install plastic products. Compaction with sand is not enough here. It is imperative to create concrete base, since without it, the strength of the polymer drain will drop dramatically. A concrete box is made in the shape of a tray. It also serves to compensate for temperatures. In it, the plastic gutter will not deform, compressed by the surrounding earth.
  • The presence of a grill is optional, but desirable as it provides additional protection. Debris, foliage and other large objects will not enter the storm sewer, clogging it. Pay attention to the rules for installing the sewage system. It must be placed half a centimeter below ground level, otherwise it will protrude and interfere.
  • To connect the trays, it is necessary to insert one into the other at the locations of the grooves. In the future, you need to seal the joints well. Suitable for this silicone sealant high strength.

It is not necessary to seal the grate, since from time to time it will have to be dismantled in order to clean the storm sewer.

Connection types

This refers to the direction in which water should flow through the tray. Depending on this, the grooves are calculated. It is impossible to arrange the channel in any other way, and not as indicated in the diagram. By the way, the layout of the tray itself, as well as its individual elements, is attached to each separate set, so it will not be possible to consider any general sequence.

  • Be sure to start all work on installing the gutter only after the concrete base has been prepared. It should be no thinner than 7-10 cm.
  • The dead end of the tray must be well sealed by attaching the end cap included in the kit to it.
  • After installation, you need to strengthen the walls of the tray. For this you need to use concreting. If the storm sewer is located along the path (asphalted or paved with paving stones, tiles), then the tray needs to be concreted only from the side that is not adjacent to the path.

When carrying out all work on cutting gutters, remember about safety precautions: be sure to use protective equipment such as glasses, mask, gloves.

  • The end cap is needed not only for the design of the "beginning" of the gutter, but also for its "end". It is important to seal the tray very well at this point to prevent leaks and water from entering the area.
  • The installation of the grating should be carried out immediately after the tray is reinforced with concrete. Installing a grating on cured concrete can be problematic.
  • At the end, sprinkle the concrete with soil and tamp to hide the reinforcement.

Storm sewer Is a complex engineering structure for removing rain and melt water from streets, highways, squares, sidewalks.

The main purpose of storm sewers

Excess moisture in residential areas can provoke:

  • subsidence of the foundation in residential and commercial buildings;
  • dampness of basements;
  • loss of quality of roads and landscape design;
  • waterlogging of the soil;
  • death of plants;
  • environmental pollution;
  • spread of infection.

Due to the technical arrangement of the sewerage system, water is discharged into a nearby reservoir, drainage well, sewer or roadside ditch. An important role is played by concrete gutters for storm sewers, which help to collect water to one source.

Installing Blocks

Drainage gutters are an important part of the sewer system. They are made of concrete, reinforced concrete, plastic, metal, polymer materials. The technical characteristics of the products depend on the material. The main property of devices is the maximum permissible load. Each drainage scheme has positive and negative sides.

Concrete drainage trays are installed on asphalt, concrete or slab roads:

  • First, trenches are dug in a specially designated place. They should be larger than storm trays.
  • Then concrete is poured.
  • Trays are installed in the center of the trench.
  • The structures are fixed between the soil on both sides with concrete cushions.
  • Products are fastened together with special grooves.
  • After installing the trays, the drain is fastened. To do this, it is better to use adjustable elements that fit any slope.
  • The joints of the structure are sealed.
  • They install gratings that protect the sewage system from the ingress of large debris.
  • On the final stage the system is checked and put into operation.
  • It is recommended to connect the drainage system using a sand catcher.

The main advantages and disadvantages of concrete blocks

The structure allows you to direct water waste to the general city storm sewer. With proper planning, there will be no puddles and dirt in the required area after precipitation. Concrete trays preserve the properties of surfaces and the quality of the soil, therefore they are used near railway, highway tracks, heating mains, streets. Modern concrete gutters are manufactured by. They have a number of positive features:

  • Strength, durability against any water flow and mechanical stress.
  • Ease of installation.
  • Waterproof.
  • Tolerance to temperature changes.
  • The material withstands aggressive environments well.
  • Solid construction.
  • Due to the smooth inner surface, dirt does not linger in structures, which eliminates silting.
  • Precise geometric shapes.
  • General purpose concrete trays are capable of bearing loads of up to twenty tons, which corresponds to class C.
  • If the product is made of concrete with the addition of fiberglass, it acquires a high impact resistance.
  • Has a long service life.
  • Roadway repair does not require dismantling the device.

Thanks to the additional steel reinforcement, the concrete gutters can withstand particularly heavy loads on the roadway, corresponding to the special class F 900.

At a large number advantages there are some disadvantages:

  • Suitable for linear sewerage only.
  • The heavy weight of the concrete gutters makes it difficult to transport and install.
  • High shipping costs.

Classification of concrete trays

Having a similar appearance, concrete trays differ from each other in parameters and scope. It is impractical to use shallow draft gutters in industry or on the territory of an airfield. Conversely, owners of private houses do not need huge expensive items. There is a branched classification of concrete trays, providing for all the properties of the material.

Load class, place of use according to European standard:

  • A15 - this type of trays is intended for pedestrian and bicycle roads, park areas, personal plots with a maximum load of 1.5 tons.
  • B125 - suitable for parking lots, private garages, swimming pools, individual buildings that can withstand a weight of 12.5 tons.
  • C250 is used in car service enterprises, sidewalks, sports facilities, where the load is 25 tons.
  • D400 - roadsides, streets with heavy traffic 40 t.
  • E600 - warehouses, berths, logistics centers, with a permissible load of 60 tons.
  • F 900 - seats with extra heavy equipment 90 t.

Constructive properties:

  • No slope for water drainage.
  • The presence of a bias towards the liquid outlet.
  • With vertical spillway.

Typical dimensions:

  • Shallow draft trays have a limited depth of placement - up to 100 mm. They are quite light, so they are stacked by hand.
  • Universal drainage products are used for any drainage systems, since their depth does not exceed 495 mm.
  • Withstands heavy loads, up to 650 mm deep.

Classification by additional parameters

Each product is open-ended and is designed for the gravity movement of water.

A straight-line gutter accepts liquid along its entire length. Its design is in the form of I and M. In the first case, installation does not require a foundation. In the second, your own foundation is needed.

The box version has a cross-sectional rectangle shape and a removable grill. The product prevents large objects from entering the passageway.

Slotted - with a round through hole that provides a path to the sewer.

The curb view has a ledge at the top.

Concrete trays with grates collect and transport wastewater. Cover systems are used for drainage only.

Bandwidth:

  • Telescopic drainage channels are suitable for slopes.
  • Edge-on - remove excess moisture from the roads to the ditches.
  • Drainage systems drain the groundwater.
  • Storm storms collect rainwater from a specific area.

Used additives:

Characteristics of different types of concrete drainage trays

There are several types of concrete trays - pressed, reinforced concrete and foam concrete. Each product has its own individual characteristics.

Pressed fine-grained concrete trays have a smooth texture with minimal air bubbles. Due to these properties, the gutters are indestructible and can withstand large flows of water. They have many advantages:

  • water resistance;
  • low thermal conductivity;
  • fire resistance;
  • special strength.

These are versatile fixtures that cope with any construction task. They can last for decades.

Concrete structures are highly efficient. They are made on the basis of a metal body, which is filled with a mixture with the addition of binding particles of various metals of artificial and natural origin. The metal matrix is particularly robust and suitable for heavy loads. It has the following positive characteristics:

  • resistance to biological and chemical influences;
  • durability;
  • heat resistance;
  • high resistance to deformation, heavy loads.

Foam concrete sewer trays are porous. Such a structure is formed as a result of the hardening of a solution, to which high-quality cement, sifted sand, water, and a foaming agent are added. It is advisable to use the products in places with low air temperatures. They have the following positive qualities:

  • good thermal performance due to air bubbles;
  • performs well in winter;
  • light weight;
  • ease of installation;
  • increased strength;
  • environmental friendliness.
