What is "earth" in the garage for?

A steel bus (copper cable) is routed from the ground loop to the garage. From the ground connection point, wiring is made to the shield, and to the outlet network. The body of a metal garage is grounded on a common basis, and cannot be a connection point or grounding bus.

  • The use of an ungrounded socket outlet and an ungrounded metal power tool is not permitted! Especially in a metal, grounded garage.
  • It must be remembered that conventional circuit breakers, grounding are not a guarantee against electric shock. For this, RCDs are intended.

Organization of wiring
