Interior decoration of the garage. We do budget repairs in the garage: how to inexpensively sheathe the inside of the room? How to tile the walls in the garage

Many owners of their cars have a garage. For them, a garage is not only a place where a car is stored, where it can be repaired if the need arises. Everything is much more interesting - this is a special (or even a favorite place) where you can spend time, get together with friends, do certain things. As they say, men will understand. Therefore, finishing the garage inside is a very important topic. It is not only the aesthetic component that is important here - the cladding should be practical.

The interior decoration of the garage should be such that it is warm in this room, always dry. Especially if there is a basement where canned vegetables and vegetables are usually stored. In addition, if the floor in the garage is made of high quality, the walls inside the garage are finished professionally - the cost of the entire structure increases significantly. That is, the issue with the cladding is not only for your comfort and for the protection of the car - here you need to take into account the prospects for the future.

About the ceiling and roof

We will definitely take on the floor and walls, but first about something else. The interior decoration of the garage begins, as a rule, from the ceiling surface. It is from here that water will drip - if it rains well outside.

To protect the interior space from the destructive, negative effects of moisture, to protect the entire cladding and the car, they first think about waterproofing. It needs to be done efficiently.

Let's talk in more detail:

  • Waterproofing is especially important for those garages that have flat roof... And at brick garages, in typical concrete structures, it has exactly this shape (if we talk about typical garage cooperatives);
  • It is logical that if the owner made a separate garage for himself on the territory of his own household, in which pitched roof, in the course of roofing works, waterproofing works were also carried out;
  • If the roof is flat, moisture can stagnate here. Because of this phenomenon, the owner will often have to replace the roofing roll materials (these are most often used).
So that there are no leaks inside when the garage is being finished inside, the master must take additional measures. And it is quite possible to do this - not only in a structure that is under construction, but also in an already erected room.
  • How to sheathe the inside of the garage so that there are no problems with moisture? You can always use a special waterproofing compound that is designed to interact with the seams;
  • Such compositions are used to process joints on floor slabs, those places where these elements are adjacent to the walls. When applying the composition, the adjacent surface is also captured (100-150 mm is enough);
  • After that, the joints should be glued with fiberglass reinforcing tape;
  • The entire ceiling surface in the garage must now be treated with a penetrating primer that is versatile. If necessary, this composition can also be used to process the concrete base of the floor or walls;
  • This waterproofing needs to be performed only once - it will be enough for the entire period while the structure is in operation;
  • The composition itself can be either dry or fully prepared for use. In the first case, the substance is diluted with water - before that, you must carefully read the instructions, where everything is explained in detail.

Dry waterproofing is slightly lower. It is recommended to buy this option when its processing is needed not only for the ceiling, but also for the walls, basement - immediately the interior decoration of the garage will be carried out over a large area.
  1. You can easily get any decorative coating through such waterproofing. In the case when it is not necessary to insulate the ceiling, you can always use ordinary panels for cladding. Even a simple polystyrene tile will do just fine. And if you have the means, you can use ceramics (it costs a little more);
  2. Today, there are options when ceramic tiles are used not only for covering the ceiling, but also for finishing the floor and walls. Concrete slabs are usually flat, so applying this finishing material will pass without difficulties;
  3. Ceilings in garages are often painted (- we already wrote about this), plastered.
If the ceiling requires insulation, it is better to choose one or another finishing method, which is a frame. It is convenient to put the insulation in the mesh of the crate - this is clear to everyone. In addition, in garages, both the walls and the ceiling are usually sheathed in the same way.

Wall cladding in the garage

Often the owners of garages are limited to only a rough wall cladding in a given room. Plastering is the most popular type of decoration here.

If you know how to apply plaster to the surface, then everything is quite simple - you just need to buy a ready-made dry plaster mixture.

It is also worth purchasing all the tools that may be required to apply this substance.

An important point - if you apply plaster on the wall in a particular room that is not heated (and the garage is usually just that), you should choose a composition with a cement base in the store. Gypsum-based mixtures are usually used in residential premises, and it is better not to use them for a garage.

Garage walls and plaster

What else can you say about the fact how the inside of the garage is finished with plaster?

Everything is so:

  • In the case when the master performs plastering work for the first time, it is better to prepare carefully. For example, you can watch a video where a specialist explains the rules for applying the composition to a surface.

  • In general, a garage can be an excellent "simulator" - an object where you can practice in finishing and repair work before taking on the repair of a house or apartment;
  • The composition of the plaster is usually applied in two layers. The master must definitely wait - when the previous one dries, before applying the next one. After that - priming, and then finishing the garage inside;
  • In a situation where painting the walls is not included in your plans, but you want to get a beautiful finish - think about using decorative plaster;
  • Facade plaster is the very material that professionals recommend when they are asked - how to sheathe the garage from the inside. As a filler for these solutions, crumbs are used, which are made from different stone rocks - marble, granite, quartz or sandstone (far from the entire list).

The filler can be purchased separately and added to the batch - the one that is prepared specifically to create a finishing layer on the walls in the garage.

Sheathing with a frame

For ceilings, walls, the order of this work will be exactly the same. Choose a frame finish when insulation is required. The material that you will use for the ceiling and walls does not have to be the same - it already depends on the personal preferences of the owner.

A about the veneering procedure itself we can say the following:

  • By this time, the waterproofing is usually already equipped. That is, the master can safely take on the structure of the frame. You can easily do this work with your own hands - even if you have no experience. However, it is better to entrust the matter to specialists - the aesthetics of the entire finish (and not only) will depend on the quality of the frame built.
Regardless of what kind of cladding material in the garage you are going to fix, for the construction of the frame you can use both metallic profile, and timber from wood.
  • When choosing a tree for making a frame, the bars should be lubricated with antiseptics before work - so that the material has protection both from putrefactive reactions and from the attention of various rodents;
  • The negative side of the lathing made of wood - the timber is not always even;
  • Let's say the wall is made of bricks. In this case, it will not be easy to align the crate - the master will need to put wedges under each of the dowels. It is much easier to install an aluminum profile;
  • The next step, when the interior decoration of the garage is carried out: insulation is laid in the cavity of the frame. Usually, insulating material is bought in advance - so that at the moment when you do the work, its width will be known (the crate is made taking into account this indicator);
  • The distance between the bars is slightly less than the width of the insulation (by 15-20 mm). This approach is used on purpose - so that the insulation fits tightly into the cell;
  • To insulate ceilings and walls, it is most convenient to use tiled insulation, not roll insulation. But it is not recommended to choose foam for such a task, this material has a high degree of flammability (and there is always a danger of fire in the garage). It is much more efficient to use expanded polystyrene, penoizol or just glass wool here.

  • When the insulation is laid, foil is usually glued to its surface (you can limit yourself to a simple polyethylene film). Due to such a primitive vapor barrier, condensation will not collect on the insulation. And after all the procedures described above, the garage is directly finished inside;
  • Is it possible to finish the inside of the garage with chipboards or clapboard? Of course, these materials are very popular for such work. They differ from plastic panels in that they need additional finishing - here and staining, here and treatment with various fire retardants, antiseptics;
  • If you think about this in advance, then any owner will understand: it is much easier to work with plastic finishing materials. But it also has its drawbacks. Namely: high fragility. One awkward movement (or something bounces off something - this can easily happen in the garage) - and the panel will be broken. So many owners, when asked about how to decorate the garage inside, choose aluminum siding panels.

Not everyone looks at their garage and its interior from the point of view of practicality. Someone also thinks about the decor, because a beautifully designed space pleases the eye, inspires.

Garage floor - device

When there is no inspection pit in the garage, there is no basement - the floor here, most likely, is simple compacted soil. In this situation, the first step is to make a concrete screed.

Arrangement of screed

The concrete screed is done like this:

  • First, the base is horizontally aligned as much as possible. To do this, sand and fine gravel are poured into the right places. Before the procedure, it is worth setting the beacons on a level, pulling the cord;
  • You can always make the backfill layer a little thicker - if you need to raise the base of the floor in the garage;
  • When the sand cushion is laid, the interior decoration of the garage continues in the following order: roofing material is laid on it with an overlap - they slightly grab the wall at the same time. This material will not allow the moisture contained in the concrete solution to be absorbed into the soil.

Now they put reinforcement on the base metal mesh- the structure will be more durable due to such an element.
  • Today you can easily buy M300 concrete - ready-made. But even an independent batch can be done - there is nothing complicated here. The main thing: to have at hand cement of the required grade, sand and crushed stone, the fraction of which is 7-9 mm;
  • Proportions are usually maintained: two parts of sand, one - cement, three - crushed stone;
  • Add water until the desired consistency is obtained - it should be convenient for the master to lay the solution, tamp it. Concrete is poured in strips - they do it between the lighthouses. Experienced builders advise doing such work without any interruptions - the interior decoration of the garage will turn out to be excellent;
  • As a result, your concrete screed on the floor in the garage should turn out to be at least 10 cm. And when it grabs, it is customary to smooth the surface very carefully. In this form, it is left for at least 29 days - so that the screed gains the necessary strength.

Work associated with concreting the floor is usually combined with the execution of a blind area - it is done along the outer perimeter of the garage. It is necessary in order to drain storm water from the walls.

When the screed is ready

  • It would seem that the screed is ready - this is quite enough. Many people will say that. But it's not that simple. The fact is that moisture is absorbed by such material. Oil will spill, for example, and the surface will be stained. Fortunately, there are ways in which a concrete surface can be given a proper look;
  • These options include a screed made of marble chips. Separately, you can easily buy the ingredients from which this solution can be made. Here you need the following: M400 - cement, fine crumbs, polyurethane and acrylic plasticizers - nowhere without them.

  • The solution will be elastic precisely thanks to the plasticizer - it will also make smooth surface your screed. On the packaging you will find out how much of the ingredient you need to add to the solution. Other components are added in the following proportions: 1 part of cement, 3 parts of crumb, ½ part of water;
  • Concrete base - a good option in case you plan to lay tiles. The main thing is to first treat the screed with a primer - so that the concrete from the adhesive solution cannot absorb moisture;
  • Clinker tiles are an excellent solution for a garage floor. But, such material is not cheap.
The strength of porcelain stoneware is about the same as that of the linker - but it costs much less. Decorating the garage inside with such material is a worthy choice.
  1. Someone prefers to carry out wooden flooring (as well as to insulate the floor in the garage). If you have such plans, you need to install wooden logs on top of the screed. And the space between them is usually covered with polystyrene granules or expanded clay;
  2. Loose insulation can always be poured with a cement solution, and a reinforcing mesh can be laid on top. You can also lay tiles on this layer of thermal insulation without any problems. Usually this option is chosen when there is a basement in the garage - and its ceiling needs insulation.

That's all - as you could already see for yourself, there is nothing impossible in such a matter as decorating the garage with your own hands inside. Everyone can handle it - if there is a desire. If you listen to our recommendations, your goal will be achieved!

A metal garage serves many useful functions. Caring car owners put a car inside it for the winter, other people just keep their summer cottage harvest, and still others equip a box for some kind of workshop. All these goals will be successfully realized if the garage is well insulated from the inside.

The minimum temperature for such a room is -5 degrees; otherwise the vegetables will rot, work there will be cold, and condensation will form on the car, causing rust. Therefore, it is advisable to insulate the iron garage from the inside in order to effectively retain heat.

Suitable materials for insulation

Traditional materials and novelties, the quality of which has been tested only by a few, can significantly increase the temperature inside a metal garage. Examples good insulation are:

  • foam (the most common material, characterized by low cost, ease of use);
  • penoizol (liquid form of the above, with a durability of over 40 years, good water resistance, fire resistance);
  • astratek (another liquid insulation; the material applied with a layer of 1 mm thick is comparable in quality to a five-centimeter layer of mineral wool);
  • polyurethane foam (durable material with a minimum service life of 50 years);
  • mineral or basalt wool (soft, inexpensive insulation, second in demand after foam).

The listed materials hardly differ in quality, and the demand for these or those is usually determined by the price. Therefore, the most popular are foam and mineral wool.

Having decided on the choice of material for insulating the garage from the inside, you can start preparatory work.

Required tools

It is advisable to insulate the garage during the warm season, but sometimes the situation forces you to perform work when sub-zero temperature... Here there is a need to insulate the box quickly and reliably. To use your time efficiently, the following equipment is prepared in advance:

  • electric drill;
  • mask and gloves (protective);
  • welding machine;
  • building level;
  • screwdriver;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • scissors for metal;
  • tape measure from 5 m;
  • staples and furniture stapler;
  • wooden bars for the horizontal crossbars of the lathing;
  • steel profile.

With the above, it's time to start insulating the garage from the inside.

Preparatory stage

With inner lining metal structures first of all, you need to take care of anti-corrosion treatment. To do this, use a metal brush to clean off rust, if any, on the surfaces, if necessary, carry out a patch repair (of a specific small area), then paint the surface with a special anti-corrosion solution.

Sometimes the right question arises - how to insulate a metal garage for a long time if the surface is treated? The second important factor in ensuring a comfortable environment inside the garage is the creation of ventilation. She must take air out of the garage, replacing it with fresh. Otherwise, the accumulation of gases will cause condensation, which will negatively affect supporting structure garage, car or stored food.

After waiting for 1-2 days of complete drying of the applied anti-corrosion solution, the insulation of the metal box from the inside begins. It is advisable to carry out the work in the following sequence - to insulate the walls, then the ceiling, the gate with a wicket, and, if necessary, the floor.

Insulation of the walls and ceiling of the garage

The process is considered using the example of basalt wool. This material has the following characteristics:

  • low thermal conductivity;
  • durability (from 50 years);
  • affordability;
  • preservation of qualities with increasing humidity inside the garage;
  • comfort in working with the material;
  • mold resistance;
  • ecological cleanliness;
  • incombustibility.

The sequence of inner wall cladding with mineral insulation is as follows:

  1. The location of the lathing is determined, the amount of material required is calculated depending on the area of the sheathing surface. For the frame, a steel profile is better suited, since wood degrades faster when it interacts with moisture. Also, the latter material "leads" when slightly wet.
  2. Vertical guides are placed. The distance between them should be 1-2 cm less than the width of the insulation, so that it straightens out and rationally takes up space. To strengthen the structure, crossbars are placed horizontally every meter, which here can be wooden.
  3. The assembled lathing is surrounded by a membrane or other waterproofing material. The joints are glued with tape, and the film is attached to staples (a furniture stapler is suitable).
  4. The insulation is placed inside the lathing from the bottom up. There should be no gaps.
  5. A layer of vapor barrier material is applied over the insulation (roofing material, plastic wrap is suitable).
  6. The final stage is the sheathing of the lathing. Performed with non-combustible material; an example is steel siding or drywall.

It is important to take into account that when covering the garage from the inside, the space narrows. The insulation should not be too bulky.

When sheathing with foam, you need to take into account some of the features of the material. It does not expand like cotton wool, so there is no need to make the distance between the frame guides 1-2 cm less. It is better to create the crate in blocks, the dimensions of which exactly repeat the dimensions of the foam. Walls with defects should be pre-leveled. It is also advisable to use an L-shaped profile, and fix the insulation sheets with glue.

Work with liquid materials will be inconvenient, so it is better to sheathe the top of the garage with foam. The fixing method is similar to that previously considered, but there is one caveat - you should take care of the absence of holes in the roof of the box. In the presence of these, welding will come to the rescue. As with walls, when insulating the ceiling, a layer of foam is located between the hydro and vapor barrier layer.

Entrance trim

Insulation of the walls will not be beneficial if cold air flows through the slots of the entrance gates or wickets. The situation is easily solved by using a rigid insulation like expanded polystyrene. First, the gate is insulated, then a small Entrance door in them. The sequence is as follows:

  1. The metal surface is treated with protective mastic. Expanded polystyrene is not afraid of moisture, however, when the gate is opened, drops of rain or snow can fall into the cracks between the material and the iron sheet. This should not be allowed.
  2. Fasten the battens around the perimeter of the gate.
  3. Fix polystyrene plates on the mounting glue, on top of them it is advisable to apply penofol (foil-based material).
  4. Carry out a wooden lathing for the installation of the cladding. Provide a distance between the future clapboard / drywall / other cladding material and expanded polystyrene about 30 mm so that an air gap remains.
  5. Fix the cladding to the battens.
  6. Perform similar actions with the wicket.

Floor insulation

Sometimes there is a need to insulate the bottom of the garage. For example, if there are large gaps or the importance of the caisson (cellar). Suitable material will become foam, on top of which a material is applied that prevents its destruction from human movement. Follow these steps:

  1. Smooth the surface, eliminate cracks and pits with putty.
  2. Prime the floor twice if it is concrete.
  3. Perform the crate from steel profiles.
  4. Lay a layer of waterproofing.
  5. Apply glue, put foam on top of it, press it to the floor.
  6. Screed the floor with a special mortar. Extracted granules are added to increase the strength.

Performing the operations described above will allow you to maintain an optimal microclimate inside the garage. Even a beginner is able to master the process, and the result will be the safety of the car, food or other items of value stored inside the box.

Increased requirements are imposed on the appearance of buildings in private households, including non-residential ones. Each owner wants his territory to be well-groomed, and the exterior of the buildings is pleasing to the eye.

In addition to the aesthetic component, the cladding of any structures must be functional. How to veneer the outer walls of the garage so that it serves as a reliable shelter for the car and decorates the territory for a long time, we will figure it out in this article.

What a garage can be built from

Before considering the types of possible cladding for a private garage, you need to understand what materials it can be built from.

Design options can be:

  • capital and;
  • insulated and cold;
  • attached to the house, and detached.

Important! Any building needs a foundation. Its device also depends on the material used in the construction of the garage.

Wood

Buildings made of wood are quickly erected, including with their own hands. You can build a frame structure or a structure from a bar or logs (read more).

Modern protective materials allow processing wood from climatic influences, fire and damage from pests, which increases its service life. For country cottages decorated in eco-style, a log garage will be the best solution.

Metal

On metal carcass mounted using a welding machine, you can install corrugated sheets. Such structures are quickly erected, but they are cold and, without the installation of good thermal insulation, are not intended to be held in them for a long time.

Concrete blocks

Blocks of various types of concrete are gradually becoming very popular and are replacing the previously ubiquitous brick (read more). This is due to the lower labor costs during laying, its speed, characteristics and material cost. To protect the building from moisture, you can treat the outside of the building with an acrylic primer.

Reinforced concrete

They will last for many years, but the construction itself is a complex and time-consuming event. In addition, special attention should be paid to the right choice and the installation of the foundation, so a massive structure will stand on it.

Sandwich panels

Panel structures are practical and low-cost structures. With proper preparation concrete base and the exact assembly of the frame, the installation of the walls and roof can be completed in a day.

Brick

When choosing this material for construction, it is necessary to weigh the financial component, since brick buildings cannot be called cheap. In addition, without the knowledge and skills of how masonry is carried out, building a garage is quite problematic.

If all of the above does not frighten, then after the completion of construction, you can get a durable, strong, reliable and attractive structure.

Some types of buildings do not require obligatory facing. Such structures include, for example, block structures (they can simply be treated with a composition that protects against moisture), bricks, profiled sheets or sandwich panels.

The options for insulating the installed structures depend on their purpose: whether the garages will be used exclusively for storing vehicles or it is planned to equip a workshop, a storage room for blanks or a recreation room there.

Exterior requirements

Considering different options finishing the walls of the garage, it is necessary to take into account the requirements for the cladding.

The finishing material should be:

  • durable;
  • do not lose their appearance over a long period of operation;
  • reliable;
  • resistant to mechanical stress and abrasion;
  • practical, easy to clean;
  • resistant to climatic (precipitation, temperatures, wind, sunlight) and biological effects;
  • outwardly attractive;
  • if possible budget.

Cladding options

You can glean more information from the video in this article.

The garage should look presentable and not stand out from the exterior of the style of the rest of the architectural ensemble.

The following options can be considered as finishing cladding solutions:

Dyeing

The use of paint for finishing external surfaces is one of the most simple ways their protection and decoration. The main advantages of using paintwork materials - affordable price and ease of application.

Anyone can handle this kind of work. In addition, very few tools are needed to paint the structure: a brush for cleaning the bases, a roller for applying the composition, a paint tray and, in fact, paint. You can also use a spray gun to speed up the process.

Application instructions are not particularly difficult:

  • the surface is being prepared, for which it should be cleaned and leveled;
  • a primer is applied;
  • painting is carried out in several layers, with each of them drying.

You can use this method for wooden, metal or concrete structures. Plaster walls are also finished with paint.

Important! The paint must be suitable for outdoor use.

The range of paintwork materials allows you to choose the desired shade and texture. The correctly selected composition will reliably and permanently protect the structure from external destructive influences.

What you should pay attention to when choosing a material:

  • resistance to ultraviolet and temperature;
  • waterproofness;
  • strength;
  • elasticity;
  • lack of static attraction;
  • degree of adhesion to materials.

Plastering

Cladding for external and interior walls buildings using plaster has been and remains a popular finishing method. Thanks to these compounds, the surface can be leveled and an aesthetic, neat and durable coating can be made. In addition, the cost of materials and the ease of working with them allow anyone to use plastering of the bases.

Produced structural types, for example, "bark beetle", allow you to create an interesting cladding. If desired, the treated walls can be finished with other types of coatings.

Plastering technology:

  • walls are cleaned: exfoliated surface fragments, defects and dirt are removed;
  • the base is treated with a primer (its type is selected depending on the material from which the garage is built) with fungicides in the composition and dried;
  • starting plaster is applied, reinforcing mesh is sunk into it, the surface is leveled;
  • then the finishing compound is used (it can be decorative or textured), which is rubbed with a special tool.

Siding decoration

The use of siding allows you to get a very presentable looking structure. The material also performs a protective function, protecting walls and thermal insulation from the effects of weather.

Several types of coatings are produced:

Vinyl

The material made of PVC is different:

  • flexibility;
  • ease;
  • resistance to ultraviolet radiation, moisture and temperature extremes:
  • ease of installation.

Metallic

Metal panels "wood grain"

The cover can be made of aluminum or galvanized steel.

Despite the high cost, the material is attractive due to:

  • corrosion resistance;
  • lack of deformation with temperature drops;
  • fire resistance;
  • durability;
  • the ability to withstand significant wind loads;
  • a wide variety of shades and textures;
  • ease of installation.

Cement, including ceramic coated

The material is not as widespread on the market as the first two types, but there are prerequisites for its promotion. The cost of the coating belongs to the budget category, besides, the siding is environmentally friendly.

Cladding panels are made with the addition of fiber-optic fibers, which increases the rigidity of the material. Cement siding is fireproof, lasts a long time and looks very attractive, but it is quite expensive.

WPC

This type of siding, made from a mixture of wood flour, plastic and additives, has excellent performance and decorative characteristics:

  • high impact strength;
  • UV resistance;
  • non-susceptibility to the effects of moisture, as a result of which the material does not crack, it is not afraid of shrinkage and warping;
  • operation in the range of -40 ... + 80 degrees;
  • no need for periodic maintenance;
  • resistance to damage by microorganisms;
  • good thermal insulation;
  • ease of installation without special skills.

For the installation of any siding, a crate made of a metal profile or wooden bars is used. As a rule, thermal insulation with an attached moisture and windproof film is installed under the cover.

The material is a bit like lining, but it is oval in shape. The cost of finishing a garage with such a coating exceeds almost all the options discussed above.

The external appearance of the buildings, finished with a block house, deserves only rave reviews, but the cladding requires constant maintenance. Despite the treatment with protective compounds, the structure can quickly lose its beautiful appearance due to the effects of precipitation.

However, the use of this natural building material in the cladding of other buildings on the site does not imply the use of other types of coatings.

Clapboard decoration

Not only internal, but also exterior decoration can be done with a lining made of coniferous or deciduous wood. The board is an environmentally friendly, durable, easy-to-install material with good thermal insulation properties. In addition, its cost does not frighten off the consumer at all.

The cladding of the garage can be done with clapboard belonging to classes A or B. Installation is carried out on a wooden crate. Installation is facilitated by the tongue / groove system. The boards are fixed with nails, clamps or staples.

Stone cladding

The desire to have a luxurious and noble-looking, durable, reliable, resistant to moisture, temperature, mechanical stress and durable structure (as in the photo) leads to the choice of stone as a finishing material. Of course, a unique building will cost its owner a decent amount.

Some savings can be achieved by using artificial counterparts. In this case, a wider selection of material types is provided.

The fixation of the stone is carried out on special adhesive solutions, the characteristics of which are subject to serious requirements.

Important! The foundation of a stone-faced garage, as in the case of brick and concrete buildings, must be capable of supporting a massive structure.

As you can see, there are a lot of options for revealing the outer walls of the garage. Everyone can choose a finishing method depending on their material capabilities, preferences, requirements for functional and aesthetic characteristics.

Which is worth worrying about. In addition to vehicles, the garage is often many other important things are stored- spare parts, tools, household utensils waiting to be used.

Sometimes this room plays the role of a huge family pantry. And all the things in her must be kept intact- in the form in which we got there.

What is the inside of the garage cladding for?

Decorating your garage will keep the room dry and warm. The creation of such conditions is necessary to save things located in the garage, as well vehicle safe and sound.

If the finishing work is not carried out, then the humidity in the room will always be high.

Dampness will contribute to the beginning of the decay process the car, the appearance of rust on its parts. Tools and other items stored in the garage will also deteriorate.

Finishing work is intended not only to create an aesthetic appearance in the garage, but also to maintain hygienic conditions in him. And working in a warm, well-maintained garage is much more comfortable.

Requirements for materials

The main requirements when choosing a finishing material is possession of the following properties:

  • flame retardant;
  • resistance to the effects of substances containing chemical elements;
  • increased strength and durability;
  • the material should be easy to clean even from the most difficult contaminants;
  • resistance to deformation;
  • resistance to odor absorption.

Variants

Since in the garage a lot of work is being done with various chemicals, finishing work should be carried out from exclusively high-quality, proven materials. Let's take a closer look at how you can decorate a garage.

Plaster

Plaster - began to be used for finishing works less and less since it is very difficult to work with her, especially if there are no special skills. In damp and cool weather, this material dries completely only after a few days.

Suitable for both wall and ceiling decoration. To make a neat and high-quality plaster finish on your own, most likely, will not work and have to hire a specialist.

Plaster tends to burst from temperature changes. Over time, the appearance of such a cladding deteriorates greatly - the plaster tarnishes and quickly becomes dirty. Getting rid of dirt on plastered walls is not easy.

Plastic panels

It is a pleasure to work with this material. Their installation is quite you can do it yourself, without spending additional funds on specialists. The panels can be washed with clean warm water or with the addition of detergents.

They can decorate the walls and ceiling, as in the photo, but it is desirable that the garage is heated, or was well insulated. Just like plaster, plastic panels tend to crack from temperature extremes.

But this type of finishing work is the fastest- the garage can be ready for use in just a few hours after the start of installation.

Ceramic tile

Ceramic tile ideal for wall decoration in the garage. But not everyone can work with this material.

The disadvantage of wall decoration with ceramic tiles is its impressive weight, which not every wall can withstand, but only very stable and driven out of high-quality building material.

Lining

It is usually used to produce facade clapboard, which does not apply to flammable materials... This type of cladding board does not allow moisture to pass through and is easily cleaned in case of contamination.

How to do it yourself?

No matter what building material the choice fell on when decorating a garage, you need to know how to work with each of them, where to start and what stage of finishing should be next.

Floor

Floor preparation is the initial step in interior finishing work in the garage. For floor finishing mainly used porcelain stoneware... But they lay it only on a concrete-filled, perfectly flat, completely dried floor.

The tile is attached with a special glue that is resistant to temperature extremes.

If the concrete with which the floor is poured is old and chipped, a leveling mixture can be used to level it. But before that, the floor is thoroughly cleaned of debris and dust, and then cover it with a special primer - it is applied with a roller.

While applying the leveling compound to the floor all windows and gates must be closed... The mixture is applied with a leveling agent only after the primer has completely dried.

Watch in this video - how to finish the floor in the garage with porcelain stoneware:

After preparing the base, you can start laying the tiles. On a small area of the floor (no more than 1 sq. M.) Even, not glue is applied in a thick layer and level it with a spatula.

Then the tiles are laid in turn, inserting a special cross between each, designed to maintain equal gaps between tiles.

If necessary, the tiles are cut with a special machine, but it is recommended to leave these parts at the baseboard, so that the appearance of the laid tiles looks aesthetically pleasing. In order not to "slide" to the side during laying, you can stretch the transverse ropes over the floor.

Ceiling

Before producing decorative trim ceiling, you need to make sure that moisture will not penetrate into the room through the ceiling and heat will not escape.

Plastic panels are often chosen for its cladding. The reason for this is lightness of the material, since you have to work with them at a height. Also their economy and practicality.

They are attached to the ceiling on a prepared frame. So that it is assembled correctly, you need to do the following:

  1. To produce accurate markings around the entire perimeter of the ceiling.
  2. If the garage has a slope and all its corners are at different heights, first, using a water level, it is necessary determine the lowest one- it will be countdown.
  3. Also, using a water level, this height is marked on the opposite wall, in the same corner.
  4. Received two points must be connected to each other with a rope and measure at the same height in the remaining two corners.
  5. As a result, 4 ropes should be stretched along the perimeter of the ceiling at the same height, along which the frame is attached.
  6. Every wall needs attach guide metal profiles, which are fixed with dowels.
  7. The intermediate elements of the frame are attached to the guide profiles at intervals that will be equal to the dimensions of the panels. But the given distance should not be more than 50 cm.

In the next video, see how to sheathe the ceiling in the garage:

The panels are inserted into the prepared frame with a busbar in the groove of the previous element. The most difficult thing to fix is those that should be located against the wall. If necessary, they can be cut to the desired size stepping back from the side that will join the wall.

Walls

Walls can be veneered plastic panels, which easy to clean when dirty... They are attached to a previously prepared wooden or metal crate (it is based on a metal profile).

Above the floor (2 cm away from it) and above the ceiling fix the longitudinal bars or a metal profile, the length of which should be equal to the length of the wall. The lathing is fixed strictly at the level to avoid further distortions.

If vertical cladding with panels is selected, then starting from a bar or profile located above the floor, markings are made. Measured every 50 cm is the place of attachment of the transverse lathing.

After making a few marks using a level measure a straight line and draw a straight line from the floor to the ceiling with a pencil - according to this figure, the transverse fasteners for the panels are attached.

Under the ceiling and above the floor you can place a planking strip, which will help decorate the top edges of the panels.

When the crate is completely ready, proceed to fixing the panels. If necessary, cut them with a hacksaw to the desired height. Panels begin to fasten from the far corner relative to the entrance to the garage, inserting the top and bottom of each into the batten strip.

Each next plastic element is also first inserted into the upper and lower battens of the crate, and then into the groove of the previous panel, while snapping the clamps. For reliability, each panel from the side of the cleats is fixed with several self-tapping screws.

Gates

Before you start interior decoration garage doors from the inside, they need to be insulated, since most of the heat from the garage goes through them.

It is better to use foam, since its thermal conductivity is minimal, which means it is stronger than other materials keeps warmth in the room.

The inside of the gate is covered with bituminous mastic, and then pasted over with a vapor barrier membrane, then with isolon - it is a foil film 2 mm thick and designed to create a hydro-barrier.

After preparing the gate surface, start installation lathing for future cladding. If a facade lining is chosen for this, then the lathing can be mounted both from wood and from metal.

Guide beams or metal profiles of the frame fastened about 2 cm from each edge of the gate... This is necessary in order to ensure air circulation under the clapboard. Also, such a fastening will contribute to the preservation of the lining in its original form and will not allow it to change shape.

To guides intermediate elements are screwed on frame. The distance between them should be equal to the size of the lining.

In the gaps between beams or metal profiles fix the foam sheets by cutting them to the correct size if necessary. To keep the foam securely, it is glued to the waterproofing material polyurethane foam or liquid nails.

Next, proceed to the sheathing itself. To the frame, each cladding board fastened with thin nails, which are hammered into the grooves. You can also fix the lining only with clamps, but the option with nails is more reliable.

To the selection of cladding materials for interior decoration of the garage need to be taken seriously and select them in accordance with fire and hygiene requirements. It is also necessary to take into account financial capabilities.

See in this video how to insulate the garage door:

We do the interior decoration of the garage with our own hands. Very often, men who have a car spend a lot of time with it in the garage. This is due to the fact that it takes a lot of time and effort to maintain a car, and someone just gets emotional release. Good masters used to putting everything in its place, but to achieve this order, it is required to make interior decoration. This, in turn, will allow you to make different racks and shelves for the tool.

But which is the best to use? We will talk about this.

Garage, the room is specific, as it contains polluting factors, for example, dirt, engine oil, and different kinds fuel oils that interfere with maintaining cleanliness. In addition, this is the place where everything constantly falls, as if begging to damage the walls or the floor.

Due to these factors, materials for interior decoration of the garage must meet several main requirements that apply to finishing materials:

The material you plan to lay on your garage floor must be strong enough. This is required in order for it to be able to withstand the pressure from the machine and other devices. But do not forget about the decoration of the walls in the garage, as they must withstand the effects of a mechanical nature, because in the garage everything is not quiet and calm. Even in such a room, there is a rather high probability of fires due to the fact that it contains fuels and lubricants. A flame retardant finish will be appropriate as well as chemical resistance.

We also note that the premises for the car are heated extremely rarely, so it will be good if the chosen finish can withstand significant temperature changes. Soiled materials will not work, as they will quickly get dirty and it will be difficult to wash them, which will soon ruin the appearance of the garage. This is a place where renovations are rarely done, so it would be wise to use materials that can last a long time.

Important! Do not overlook the advice that the interior of the garage should be unmarked. Cleaning the garage is also rare, but the mess and unpleasant appearance will still affect the condition of the person.

Interior decoration of the garage

Wall decoration

An important step in creating a new environment for the repair is precisely giving them the proper appearance... Fortunately, there is a wide range of building materials that can be used for this very purpose.

Plastering

It is the most common wall decoration method in the world. He was able to combine in himself the largest number positive qualities... If we consider the composition, then the plaster consists of gypsum or sand-cement mortar... Such materials themselves are non-combustible, and besides this, they have high strength, which means that it is difficult to damage the plastered walls. When using high quality material, it will serve you for several decades, which is very important and economical. Thanks to the fact that cooking is quick and easy, you can carry out repairs at any time - it will be enough to cover up the damaged area.

But before choosing an option, think about the existing disadvantages:

  • Wet finish.
  • It takes skill.
  • Would need .
  • The process is laborious.

In order to apply the plaster evenly, you will need certain skills in working with such a material. If you don’t know how, then most likely you will be wasting money, and the work itself is considered dirty. After plastering, you will have to do a good cleaning, and this will take time. You will also need to conduct finishing to give the garage a presentable look from the inside, and also to strengthen the first layer of plaster so that it does not crumble in the future. The process itself requires additional tools to make the process faster.

Drywall

The service life of such a finish is more than 30 years. The metal perfectly tolerates temperature changes and this in no way affects its configuration. The disadvantages of the material include noise, therefore it is recommended to lay under the corrugated board mineral wool that will play the role. In addition, in an unheated garage, the metal freezes, and there is no pleasure in being in the room.

Floor finishing

The best solution for finishing your garage floor is pouring concrete screed... Thanks to her, you can get the required strength. If you have a viewing hole in your garage, then before pouring everything you need to prepare for the construction, then you need to level the soil inside the garage. Ideally, a deepening of 0.3 m should be made and crushed stone should be added half the size, and the remaining space should be covered with sand and everything is well tamped. It is very important that the base is properly leveled. Before pouring, waterproof it. It will prevent the floor from getting wet and moisture penetration into the garage. To do this, sheets of roofing material should be laid on the sand, with an overlap.

In order for the finish to serve you for a long time, it still needs to be reinforced. To do this, lay out a metal grate from the reinforcement around the perimeter. After that we expose beacons, along which it will be possible to pull the solution. By the way, as beacons, you can use a channel or metal pipes... Next, knead concrete mortar and pour it onto the finished surface. It needs to be leveled using a rule and a flat surface should be created. For convenience, you can make it at a slight slope so that the liquid flows down to the garage door. The screed must be at least 10 cm thick.
