Types of plumbing work and plumbing. Types of plumbing for bathroom and toilet Plumbing types and varieties of application

Plumbing for the bathroom and toilet is determined by the style (classic, modern, high-tech), sizes and functional features, includes a standard set of products:

  • Bathtubs (acrylic, cast iron, steel, marble and wood) with rectangular, angular and oval shapes, up to 135 ... 190 cm long;
  • Toilet bowls for floor-standing, suspended and side-mounted mounting types, with a "compact", "monoblock" design, without a cistern. Models with side, back and bottom water inlets, horizontal, vertical and oblique outlets.
  • Shower enclosures of open and closed type, in a simple and multifunctional design.
  • Corner, oval, rectangular and round washbasins made of earthenware, porcelain and glass. Mounting types: on a pedestal, surface-mounted and suspended.
  • Mixers for sinks, sinks and showers. Single-lever and 2-valve models with long and short spout.

Bath - types and sizes

Cast iron models

Cast iron baths have a number of positive characteristics:

  • optimal combination of price and quality;
  • duration of operation;
  • stability and practicality in use;
  • thermal insulation characteristics.

Small, medium or large bowls are represented by the following parameters:

  • Small structures of 1200 x 700 mm provide space savings. But it will not be possible to go to the bathtub, which is explained by the average height of people - 165 cm.
  • Dimensions 130x70 are classified as small, but they are made to order.
  • Size 140x70 cm is ideal for non-standard bathroom dimensions.
  • 150x70 - average parameters for baths with different widths and shapes.
  • Large-sized models 170x70 cm are ideal for modern rooms.
  • 185x85 - large bowls, comfortable and convenient, suitable for rooms with non-standard dimensions.

Additional accessories are handles that provide ease of movement in the bathroom. Many manufacturers design custom-made bathtubs up to 200 cm long and 100 cm wide.

Steel baths

Choice budget option differs in light weight (up to 30 kg) and wall thickness close to 3 mm. Coating steel bath comparable in quality to a cast iron bath. Negative characteristics include thin walls of structures that bend under the weight of users, which negatively affects the service life of the enamel coating and low noise insulation. In order to increase the level of sound absorption, experts recommend installing rubber gaskets. Choosing quality faucets will ensure that the noise level from the flow of water in the bathtub is reduced.

The dimensions of the structures are presented in the following range:

  • length 150 - 180 cm;
  • width 70 - 85 cm;
  • depth - 65 cm.

Attention! The width of the selected bathtub is selected taking into account the observance of the distance to the sides by 5 cm from all sides. In terms of depth, the optimal parameter is 50-60 cm.

Acrylic bathtubs

Acrylic designs are lightweight, comfortable and material quality, other positive characteristics:

  • resistance to temperature extremes and bactericidal effects;
  • ease of installation due to light weight;
  • wide range of colors.

Standard combined baths have dimensions: 145x250 cm, 195x172 cm, the most popular models are represented by a number of parameters:

  • Length - 140, 150, 185 cm.
  • Width - 90, 100, 105 - 135 cm.

Acrylic bathtubs are vulnerable. Remember that any sharp objects and cleaning agents will scratch the surface.

Triangular baths

Product parameters:

  • The depth varies from 48 to 65 cm.
  • The size of the lateral sides of the "triangle" is 150 - 180 cm.
  • Capacity - up to 400 liters. In the presence of anatomical niches, recesses, protrusions or armrests, the volume changes.

The negative characteristics include a large width, which complicates the cleaning process.

Wooden bathtub

A solid piece of oak is used to develop the models. TO unique properties oak refers to an increase in the strength of the product with prolonged exposure to water.

Sinks and washbasins

Based on the installation method of the mixer, a distinction is made between designs with and without a hole. Choosing a given type of structure, you should figure out the location of the mixer - on the sink, on the wall surface or together with the bathroom.

Installation classification

The models on the market are divided into a number of categories:

  • suspended,
  • on a pedestal (tulip);
  • waybills;
  • built-in.

Suspended models (console sinks) are fixed to the wall surface with special brackets. The mixer can be mounted on a sink or wall. The disadvantages include the impossibility of concealed installation of a siphon and plumbing fittings. The optimal solution is to place a small bedside table under the sink, which allows you to save space in a small room and place all the necessary items. Suspended flat sinks are designed for installation above the washing machine. The sewer outlet is located not at the bottom, but on the back wall.

Overhead sinks are installed on a countertop, cabinet, pedestal or semi-pedestal. A number of models are supplied with pedestals included. The predetermined fixing method ensures efficient use of space, since the sink can be placed on the left and right sides, and can be located in the center. TO positive characteristics include ease of installation and installation, ease of use and space saving. The disadvantages include the lack of a hole for the mixer. Before buying a countertop washbasin, you should decide on the place of installation of the mixer - on the countertop, under the sink or in the wall.

Washbasins on a pedestal (tulip) differ from suspended products by the inclusion of a stand (legs) that hides the siphon and pipes, and provides an additional support. Distinguish between monolithic and separate stands. The height of the kit is 700-800 mm, which should be borne in mind when purchasing them. To increase the height, experts recommend installing a pedestal under the stand. A lower height will be provided by a model with a semi-pedestal. The difference lies in the installation of the pedestal not on the floor, but on the wall, like the sink itself. The use of such a half-pedestal helps to adjust the height of the sink. The disadvantage is the outlet of the sewage system at a given height.

Built-in sinks (sinks) cut into the countertop of the cabinet, which eliminates the need to fix the sink to the wall. The bedside table facilitates the hidden installation of communications.

Material for making shells

The materials used in the production of sinks are:

  • ceramics;
  • a natural stone;
  • composites;
  • corian;
  • glass;
  • metal.

Porcelain or earthenware sinks are in high demand. They differ in firing technology. Faience is characterized by high moisture-absorbing properties (10%), which leads to the loss of its original characteristics during operation, and cracks appear on the enamel. The service life is 10-15 years. The high quality and cost of porcelain is achieved due to its low porosity and smooth surface. The technology of porcelain production contributes to its dense structure and less moisture absorption. The service life varies from 30 years. Porcelain sinks retain their glaze longer, are easier to clean and retain their original appearance.

Marble structures are distinguished by their high price and an abundance of material textures. Natural characteristics material contribute to the formation of pores and microcracks, where dirt collects, which requires more attention and careful maintenance.

Composite materials are similar in appearance to analogs from natural stone, but differ in the availability of material. Smooth surface sinks resist contamination and are easy to clean.

Corian is a durable man-made composite containing mineral filler, acrylic resin and pigment. The pigment allows you to give the shell any color. The material is characterized by ease of processing, providing the ability to create a variety of shapes. Designs feature increased impact resistance and a smooth finish for easy cleaning.

Glass is characterized by high cost and impact resistance. During operation, stains remain on the transparent surface. Glass sinks contribute to the visual increase in space, they go well with metal elements. Glass thickness varies from 15 to 19 mm.

Metal products are developed from copper (and alloys - brass, bronze), stainless steel, steel. Structures provide long-term operation, but require careful maintenance, excluding the formation of scratches from abrasives on the surface. When hit by a jet of water, the products make noise.

Sewer connection

The sink is connected to the sewer through a drain pipe (usually corrugated) with a siphon. To do this, on the main sewer pipe there is a branch with a cross section of 5 cm (a tee is placed), where the drain from the sink is installed.

Shower cabins

Shower cabins take up little space, allowing you to free up more than 1 sq. m. Free space available for arrangement washing machine etc. The tight closing of the doors excludes the possibility of flooding the floor with water, the robust construction protects against accidents. Water saving is increased by 5 times.

Types of shower cabins

There are 3 types of shower cabins:

  • open;
  • closed;
  • multifunctional.

The open version of the cabins got its name from the open ceiling. The construction is limited on 4 sides. The cab is mounted directly on the floor, freeing up space. The structures are used for arranging small-sized rooms, where it is possible to open the doors inward. This function allows you to visually enlarge the space.

The disadvantages include careful leveling of the floor and walls, arrangement of high-quality insulation, which prevents water from entering outside the cabin. The doors are fixed to the wall with steel hinges, which is not always convenient in the room. The absence of a roof excludes the functions of aromatherapy, tropical shower and Turkish bath. Draining water into the grate on the floor requires a siphon (to prevent odor formation), which will result in the need to raise the floor by 10 cm.

Closed booths (boxes). They are closed on all sides with partitions. Ease of installation determines their popularity. If there is a drain and water supply, assembly work will not be difficult. The boxes are manufactured in standard and multifunctional versions.

Multifunctional units are available with horizontal and vertical hydromassage. The first option is built into the most expensive models. Instead of a conventional pallet, the structure is equipped with a special hydromassage bath. To supply water, nozzles are placed on the sides and at the bottom, contributing to a different direction of flow and the formation of bubbles, which produce the function of a hydromassage. The force of the flow is regulated independently.

Vertical devices are designed to supply water from nozzles located on the ceiling of the booth. To provide medicinal properties massage, the flow of water is directed to the neck, hips or back.

How to decide on the choice of a shower cabin?

Pallet. The choice of quality construction ensures maximum load resistance, compactness and spaciousness. Safe performance is achieved with a slight relief at the bottom.

Blinds are produced in sliding and swinging versions. Smooth opening and quiet operation of the doors informs about the quality of installation and the selected material. When buying polystyrene curtains, you should be prepared for the loss of transparency and the formation of streaks on the surface. Glass curtains provide increased durability and ease of maintenance. Glass does not cloud over time and does not leave streaks. Transparent and tinted rough options enter the market.

What determines the cost of shower cabins?

The cost of structures is determined by the material (glass, artificial and natural stone) and design features products, additional functions: hydromassage, Turkish bath and sauna. Expensive models are equipped with electronic system controls, waterproof phone and stereo system.

Popular models

The most in demand are Apollo brand products, presented in a price range from 10 to 100 thousand rubles. and more. Products of world brands are widely in demand: Golden Fish, Luxus, Niagara, Timo, Serena, Aumeia. For those who decide to purchase a shower stall for an average price of 20 thousand rubles, it is proposed to consider the TS-025 model below. The cost of the structure includes a chrome-plated profile structure, 10 mm thick tempered glass, a siphon and hinged doors. Chrome-plated hinges, clear glasses and chrome-plated comfortable handles combine with the pentagonal, angled profile and acrylic low base.

Types of toilets

Toilets are subject to GOST requirements:

  • mounting height - 40 cm;
  • the volume of the drain tank is from 6 liters.

Classification of toilets by bowl

The form provides comfort, hygiene and functionality, they are available on the market in basic designs:

  • Funnel-shaped. Placing the funnel in the center of the bowl allows for a thorough and immediate removal of the faeces, but a splash is possible.
  • Dish-shaped. Models have the form of a flat platform (shelf) for the accumulation of waste products, cleaned by the flow of water. Such constructions are among the outdated ones. They do not splash drops, but they are poorly hygienic.
  • Kozyrkov. The wide popularity of the design is justified by the inclusion of a special protrusion that prevents the appearance of a splash and a slope to effectively remove feces from the walls of the device.

Flush types

Based on the direction of the water flow, toilets are distinguished with a direct or cascade type of flush, reverse circular (shower type).

Direct flush is characterized by the flow of water on one side of the bowl. The design is designed for long-term operation, but does not provide 100% washing quality of the entire coating. The pluses include low cost. Among the disadvantages are the incomplete coverage of the bowl capacity, the formation of noise and splashes.

Circular flush. The water flow is directed under different angles in relation to the inner lining of the bowl and moves in a different direction. This facilitates processing up to 95% coverage. The design is characterized by low noise level.

Less commonly, manufacturers develop non-standard drain designs that involve filling the bowl with water with a quick flush. This option provides flush coverage to the inside of the toilet bowl. Negative characteristics include excessive consumption of water (up to 8 liters or more).

The average water consumption in the drainage system in accordance with GOST is 6 liters, but there are systems on the market designed for 2 modes - full and economy. The second option provides a decrease in water consumption by 2 rubles.

Release into the sewer network

By the type of release, vertical, horizontal and oblique bends are distinguished. The choice of a specific design is determined by the location of the sewer entrance.

The horizontal and oblique bend is determined by the angle of inclination: the first option is 180 degrees. (parallel to the floor surface), and the second 145 - 140 gr. relative to the sewer inlet. The last option allows you to lay the sewer system in the plane of the ceilings, united by vertical risers. In the place of fixing the toilet bowl with an oblique outlet, the installation of a device with a horizontal outlet without adapters - special branch pipes is excluded.

Oblique release. It is well used in the arrangement of riser sewer systems in multi-storey premises 70s - 80s Modern objects are designed for toilets with a horizontal outlet.

Vertical release. It is found in buildings of the 50s and on the American continents, which determines the principle of installing communications without binding to walls. This method facilitates the installation of a plumbing fixture anywhere in the bathroom, hiding piping lines thanks to floor and ceiling cladding materials.

Toilet bowl material

Earthenware products... Toilets made of earthenware are notable for their low strength and increased porosity, which makes it difficult to clean and maintain the device. A fragile product is prone to chips and cracks.

Porcelain structures are excellent and durable, their coating is easy to clean, and the strength indicators contribute to the use of structures in public places. Structures are expensive due to increased production costs. A more economical option is ceramic products, which are characterized by a low degree of glaze coating, high weight and low strength indicators.

Steel and cast iron products... Designed for installation in public toilets. The products are very popular due to their high strength and easy cleaning. Less in demand cast iron structures high weight and low resistance of enamel to mechanical stress.

Glass and stone designs are attributed to products of the "modern" series. These devices are distinguished by their high cost and exquisite appearance. The strength indicators of glass and natural stone are compensated by artificial substitutes, which are inferior to natural counterparts in terms of visual and tactile perception.

Plastic products are made on the basis of reinforced acrylic. They are highly durable, easy to maintain and have low porosity for maximum hygiene. Among the minuses, the susceptibility to deformation caused by mechanical stress or high temperature is noted.

Toilet mounting options

Based on the method of attachment, pendant and floor devices are distinguished. The latter option is available in standard and wall-mounted versions.

Floor structures are inexpensive and easy to install. They are placed in spacious rooms. Products are fixed on anchor bolts with minimal cost time. In the process of dismantling it is excluded negative impact on flooring... In small-sized rooms, attached (wall-mounted) models are installed, characterized by a special flush system, which provide compact forms of the product.

Corner installations. The difference with the standard designs is the shape of the waste tank. It is presented in a triangular shape, without prejudice to the overall volume. In some models, the installation of the drainage structure is carried out behind the wall. The models are recommended for installation in small bathrooms or rooms with unusual design. Corner placement of plumbing contributes to the "rounding" of the room, making it more spacious. The selection includes one-piece installations and designs with hanging drain bowls. For rooms with separate bathroom, the installation of a corner structure helps to expand the space for installing a corner sink or bidet. Individual modules are supplemented with a function of height adjustment up to 4 cm, an emergency system. The drain bowl is designed from a solid material, excluding the possibility of cracking.

Suspended models are designed for installation in small spaces. They are capable of withstanding a load of 400 kg and more. The pluses include the availability of space for cleaning.

The bowls are fixed using block or frame technology. The second option is characterized by a rigid attachment of the bowl to the wall and floor surface, located inside the false walls. The piping elements are fixed to the product. Block mounting allows the frame to be fixed to load-bearing wall... The installation depth is 15 cm. Space savings are ensured by using an existing "false" wall or niches reinforced with metal beams.

Tank mounting methods

With regard to mating with the bowl, separate and joint design options are distinguished.

Separate technology. Installation is carried out under the ceiling, connected to the toilet by means of a plastic or metal pipeline. To control the drain system, a lever with an elongated flexible handle on a chain, rope, etc. is used. The advantages include an increased drain speed, which ensures the quality of operation, relative to analogues. The choice of split systems is represented by hidden cisterns.

A modern person is used to living in a comfortable environment, and plumbing plays an important role in ensuring this comfort. If it is faulty, a real collapse sets in - a person can neither cook food, nor hygiene procedures to carry out, therefore, when buying plumbing fixtures for the house, you need to choose only high-quality products that will serve for a long time and reliably. Of course, over time, any plumbing becomes unusable and requires repair or replacement, while annually appears on the market of plumbing materials a large number of new products that are more modern and better than their predecessors.

Assortment of plumbing

The main types of plumbing equipment include toilets and bathtubs, showers and sinks, mixers and heated towel rails. You can also highlight the category of fixtures and fittings: installations for the installation of modern suspended structures, accessories for equipping bathrooms, hatches and various hand dryers.

Detailed information about all types of modern plumbing can be read . At the same time, it is important to buy the necessary products only from reliable companies that have documents confirming their originality and quality. In this case, plumbing will be used for many years, providing maximum comfort for a person.

The most popular manufacturers of plumbing fixtures are Italians, Germans, Japanese, Americans and Austrians, however, there are also reliable companies among other manufacturers that make inexpensive but high quality plumbing fixtures.

As for the material, it can be made of metal, sanitary porcelain or faience, as well as ceramics. At the same time, the answer to the question of what kind of plumbing to choose depends on the interior of your home and your personal preferences.

Toilet bowls and bathtubs

It is impossible to imagine the arrangement of any bathroom without a bathtub and a toilet, therefore this particular plumbing is the most popular among buyers. Today, an ordinary bathtub is no longer in such demand as it used to be, as people have appreciated the advantages and convenience of using shower cubicles (for large bathrooms) or cheap nooks / boxes (for small bathrooms). By clicking on the link http://www.gipostroy.ru/catalog/category/santehnika to the site of the Internet hypermarket "Gipostroy", you can familiarize yourself with the range of goods and purchase any shower cabins at an affordable price.

As for the toilet bowls, then, as before, compact toilet bowls are in fashion, but to give the bathroom modern style many people choose to install wall-hung toilets.

Plumbing equipment includes: sinks, toilets, flushing cisterns, taps, shutoff and dismountable fittings (valves and gate valves), siphons and many other devices that are not visible under decorative panels. Next we will look in more detail different types plumbing, from the simplest to the most complex.

Siphons

Siphon is one of the most important sanitary devices. Thanks to this non-tricky device, unpleasant odors from the sewage system cannot get into the room. Otherwise, it is also called a water filter or shutter. Siphons can be of two types: double-turn and bottle (example in Fig. 105). Today, the two-turn siphon is considered obsolete. But, nevertheless, he copes with his task. Bottle siphons are more common due to the fact that they are made of plastic, which means that they are convenient, compact, easy to install and quite easy to maintain. Buy bottle siphon can be complete with all connecting elements, gaskets and seals. The modern bottle siphon is equipped with an additional connection to which you can connect the drain hose of the washing or dishwasher machine.

Rice. 105. Siphon device:

a - nickel-plated bottle; b - double-turn steel with revision

As we know, all thermoplastics, when heated, have a large coefficient of linear expansion. And since this property in relation to siphons, it is their advantage, since their connection to the sewage system should not be of a rigid type, which means that additional sealing of the joint is not needed. The siphon outlet is simply placed in the pipe and an elastic sleeve serves as insulation. Whereby installing a plastic bottle siphon it takes only a few minutes, since there is no need to prepare various solutions for sealing joints, stamping a socket and the like.

Plastic bottle siphon connection method shown in fig. 106.

Rice. 106. Appearance and connection diagram of a PVC siphon:

1 - siphon body; 2 - branch; 3 - square; 4 - socket with insulation; 5 - sewer pipe

In addition to plastic siphons, they are also manufactured steel bottle siphons ... By outward appearance steel siphons, of course, benefit, but the installation of a steel siphon is much more difficult.

In principle, there is nothing impossible, just because of the problematic fit of the metal water seal at the installation site takes a lot of time and effort. And to shorten the pipe, you have to saw the metal.

In fact, only the convenience and simplicity of cleaning the clogged pipe is important. To clean the clogged pipe, it is enough just to unscrew the lid (the bottom of the glass) - and eliminate the clog.

Flush cisterns, depending on their location relative to the toilet, can be high or low.

Today, it is unlikely that you will see high-located cisterns where they are practically not used anymore. This course of events was influenced by several reasons. Firstly, this type of flush cistern is more difficult to maintain and repair, and it is also not convenient to use, like a low-positioned flush cistern.

Semi-automatic flush cistern of siphon type, high position, consists of:

- cast iron body;

- covers;

- lever - a lever connected at one end with a flexible siphon, and at the other end with a holder.

The principle of operation of such a tank is as follows: when lowering the handle of the holder, the siphon tilts, the water collected in the siphon through it enters the flush pipe, which leads to the toilet. She siphons until everything flows out of the tank. After that, the siphon returns to its original place, and its tank is again filled with water. To prevent water from flowing through the top of the tank, a special float is placed in it. The float, in turn, is connected to the valve stem by means of a lever. As the tank is filled with water, the float rises, the rubber stopper is pressed and blocks the access of water to the tank. The float mechanism is attached to the tank body.

The valve is connected to the water supply by means of a coupling. The cistern is filled with water through a filling pipe connected to the water supply of the house.

A float valve (example in Fig. 107), which is installed in the cistern, must meet the following requirements:

- it must open together with the beginning of emptying the tank at a pressure in the water supply from 0.03 to 1.1 MPa and shut off the water flow into the tank as soon as the tank is filled with water to the specified level. In addition, it should not allow water to leak through a closed valve, since water will go through the top and no cover will save;

- he must provide stable level water in the tank with fluctuations in pressure in the water supply system at home, that is, an increase or decrease in pressure in the network by 0.05 MPa should also not independently change the water level in the tank by more than 5 mm.

Rice. 107. Float valve device:

1 - hold-down washer; 2 - gasket; 3 - saddle; 4 - membrane; 5 - rod; 6 - float lever; 7 - lever axis

Low-lying cisterns (example in Fig. 108) are made of earthenware (ceramic), cast iron or plastic. The semi-automatic ceramic cistern consists of a main body with a lid, a drain valve, a float valve and a drain valve. As soon as you press the handle of the flush lever, the bulb of the flush valve floats, water comes out through the vacant opening into the toilet bowl. As soon as the water level in the tank has dropped, the pear also lowers and is sucked into the opening of the fitting, thus blocking the access of water to the toilet. At the same time, the float mechanism is activated: the float is lowered and the float valve opens through the opening of which water enters and fills the cistern to the specified level.

Rice. 108.:

a - low-lying semi-automatic; b - plastic; 1 - body and cover; 2 - handle of the release lever; 3 - overflow; 4 - drain valve; 5 - gasket; 6 - float valve; 7 - drain fittings; 8 - glass; 9 - lattice; 10 - central pipe; 11 - bell; 12 - release button

In a plastic tank, a plastic drain valve with a piston siphon is installed. The drain fittings of this tank consist of a kind of glass with a grate at the bottom, which is covered by a polyethylene membrane, as well as a central pipe with a bell with a float installed on it. When you press the trigger (button), the bell is lowered at the same time, charging the siphon, which activates the cistern, that is, drains the water into the toilet. In fact, tanks without float valves are considered more reliable in operation, since they do not have water leaks and other things.

With normal, without intermittent operation, the flush cistern should be filled with water by 85% in just 1.5-2 minutes after the previous drain at a network pressure of 0.1 to 1.2 MPa. At the same time, there should be no back suction of water from the flushing cistern into the water supply network of the house when a vacuum forms in it, that is, water from a filled cistern should not flow out after the cessation of its action.

The help tank should be activated by pressing its trigger once.

Also, a tank with a float valve is equipped with an overflow device that allows water to drain into the toilet with a water flow rate of at least 0.35 l / s when the water level in the tank exceeds the overflow level by 15-20 mm.

The industry in serial production produces earthenware, semi-porcelain and porcelain toilets with flushing devices.

Depending on the design of the bowl, the toilet bowls can be: dish-shaped or visor. But depending on the type of release, they are divided into straight and oblique (at an angle of 55-60 °). At the location of the flush cistern, there are models with high-positioned cisterns and those installed on the toilet shelf. In the latter case (this is the best option) connection of the toilet bowl to the cistern produced by means of a rubber cuff.

A possible option is usually associated with design solution when the cistern is installed separately from the toilet. The toilet shelf (for installing the cistern) can be molded together with the main body and can be manufactured as a separate piece. It is also connected to the toilet bowl using a rubber sleeve.

Poppet toilets can be either with direct or oblique outlet, but visor - only with oblique. Also, a water seal is already provided in the design of the toilet, thanks to this shutter, to put it mildly, unpleasant odors from the sewer do not enter the room. A bowl-shaped toilet with a straight and oblique outlet (example in Fig. 109) consists of a bowl, a water distribution chute, a water seal (siphon) with an outlet. The flush pipe from the cistern is connected to the toilet through the neck.

Rice. 109. Disc toilets:

a - with direct release; b - with oblique release; 1 - issue; 2 - bowl; 3 - neck; 4 - water distribution chute; 5 - hydraulic valve; 6 - the rush of the base of the toilet; 7 - shelf

At the back of the toilet body there is a shelf with two holes in it, thanks to which it is possible to attach the seat. And in the base of the toilet there are four bolt holes. With their help, the toilet is attached to the floor.

In recent years, the “Compact” model toilet bowl (example in Fig. 110) with a low-positioned cistern, which is installed on the toilet shelf, has become more and more popular. This model is very easy to install and maintain. And also one of the most important properties of the "Compact" model is its hygiene, since hygiene in the bathroom and toilet room very necessary.

Plumbing is the heart of any private household. The main elements are a bathroom or toilet. The comfort of your home depends on the right choice of plumbing materials.

Today there is a large selection of different products in terms of color, material, design, function, quality, cost and other criteria. In addition to good looks, they must have reliability, durability and the necessary functions.

How to choose plumbing fixtures for bathroom, toilet and kitchen?

With the choice of good plumbing for the bathroom, toilet, kitchen, you need to decide on preparatory stage or before the installation of all communication systems, so that all components of the system fit well into the interior. So that everything fits well in size and everything is in its place.

If you choose plumbing accessories after the construction of the house and all the necessary communications have been made (sewage, water supply, heating), then their placement must also be taken into account so that there are no troubles with the installation of plumbing, you can easily connect all the necessary elements.

When selecting a product, determine the required cost range. This is the amount you can pay for the item. Then you need to take the most suitable option.

Cheap sanitary ware is characterized by low cost and poor design or not very good technical potential. But sometimes an expensive product does not stand out for its good quality. Now there are high-quality fakes of well-known manufacturers on the market. When choosing an expensive product from a famous company, be careful. Companies that care about reputation give a guarantee.

Follow the reviews carefully. When choosing a product, pay attention to the functional range and design. It must be remembered that the simpler the product, the more reliable it is. It is necessary to remember when purchasing a product about the operating conditions.

How to install plumbing yourself?

Novice repairmen are worried about whether it is easy to install plumbing on their own.

Today, thanks to the development of information technology, you can find any information, but to install plumbing you need:

- Certain skills and abilities.

- Full availability of the necessary tools.

Experience in installing plumbing cannot be acquired immediately, it needs to be gained over the years.

Before installing plumbing, you need to replace the water supply and sewerage in the apartment, then start plumbing:

- You need to know where your plumbing is.

Reliability factors

Another factor that directly affects the safety of the installation is the quality of the installation. Even strict European standards are not able to protect the consumer from problems caused by improper assembly of the system. This means that the myth that a wall-hung toilet will not withstand certain loads will remain a myth only if you use high-quality plumbing and strictly follow the rules for its installation.

Is there an extra centimeter?

Some manufacturers claim that suspended plumbing - good way win a few free centimeters. Such statements, by the way, gave rise to speculation about that. that this equipment is used as the only possible option in small bathrooms and nothing more. However, there are also such consumers. in which the compactness of the design raises serious doubts, because you will have to fit not only a toilet bowl or a sink, but also a frame with a drain barrel. A few centimeters will be stolen by a false wall.

According to the phantom, a lot depends on the dimensions of the plumbing and the way it is attached. For example: the length of a conventional floor-standing toilet with a cistern is approximately 60-70 cm. The standard length of a hanging bowl is 50-60 cm.

The frame will require at least 10 cm. It will be really tangible to save space if there is already a niche in the wall where you can mount the frame. On the other hand, the statement that an installation steals a lot of space is also not true - too many factors affect its size. Therefore, the myths about the dimensions of suspended plumbing in each individual case can be both confirmed and refuted.

Is suspended plumbing expensive?

It is believed that wall-mounted toilets and sinks are quite expensive. In reality, the financial side in the choice between suspended or floor-standing equipment is not entirely unambiguous. The fact. that the market for the plumbing we are used to is filled with both expensive and cheap models. In the segment of suspended analogues, there are simply no economical options.

The specifics of their installation and operation impose too stringent requirements on the materials from which the products are made, as well as on the production technology, which ultimately forms a considerable cost. Therefore, it is reasonable to compare only high-quality plumbing of proven brands, and in any of its manifestations it will not be cheap. Another thing is that such stringent requirements are not imposed on floor plumbing, therefore there is an economy segment. Of course, the cheapest floor-standing toilet will cost several times less than the cheapest wall-mounted toilet.

Suspended plumbing - complex installation

Many are afraid of the complexity of the installation. Whether it is a familiar, long-studied floor construction. The technology is really not the simplest one, but it can be mastered if desired. Naturally, European manufacturers are calling for the help of professionals. Returning to the financial issue, it is worth clarifying that it will cost a lot. Professional installation may require an amount equal to the cost of all purchased plumbing.

Realizing the alienation of this approach for the domestic consumer, Russian manufacturers although they remind of the importance professional approach, however at self-assembly recommend using instructions and video tutorials from the Web.

Of course, you need to understand that, without having basic skills and knowledge, it is better not to take risks and entrust the installation to really knowledgeable people. But even here it is worth checking the quality of work. Firstly, after installation, there should be no unnecessary parts left, especially fasteners... All of them must be involved. Secondly, the fasteners must be located in the places provided by the instructions. To avoid problems with operation, it is necessary to remove all oil film from the internal parts of the tank. Otherwise, the parts may stick to each other.

Where to find accessories for suspended plumbing

It is also believed that the parts necessary for assembling the structure are difficult to find on sale. Here, of course, a lot depends on the nearby shops, because it happens that parts have to be looked for for quite a long time for the installation of floor plumbing fixtures. But since there was a wall-hung sink or bidet, it means that in the same store there is everything you need to install them. Parts can be purchased as a set or, if the bathroom has any design features, purchased in parts. Of course, it can happen that, having acquired, it would seem, everything you need, in fact, a shortage is revealed.

stitching some adapter or pipe. Some problems may arise with their search. In order for the myth to remain just a myth, it is better to immediately make all the necessary measurements and draw up a list of the required parts.

And at this time behind the wall ...

Hidden behind a false cistern is a reason for many to abandon hanging plumbing. The fears are understandable. When the water tank is in sight, any leak can be noticed quickly enough. In the case of suspended installations, there is a belief that a leak can only be learned from a neighbor below.

Such a prospect, of course, is frightening, and the manufacturers give an eloquent example of this: in the process overhaul suspended plumbing fixtures installed 40 years ago were dismantled in a Swiss hotel. Having opened the false walls, the workers discovered perfectly serviceable equipment that could have served for many more years. The story is convincing, but do not forget about our national characteristics and some subtleties in general.

First, it is worth repeating, a lot depends on the quality of the plumbing and its installation. Secondly, corrections for water quality need to be made. And a lot depends on him. If this is not a problem. then the operation of the equipment will be simple and pleasant. And yet, even in this situation, you need to install a coarse filter at the entrance to the system.

If the water is hard, plaque will most likely appear and even high-quality equipment may become unusable over time. But in this case, you can keep the situation under control. The flush system can be removed via the drain button, so it can be inspected and repaired if necessary.

This is, in fact, the only weak spot in the installation. The rest of the parts that remain walled up in the wall are made of plastic and therefore are not subject to significant changes.

And yet, if possible, it will be useful to make a small hatch for control, as well as for carrying out the necessary renovation works... Another detail that makes the system safe is a backup outlet, through which excess water is drained directly into the sewer if the tank is overfilled for any reason. In addition, European manufacturers give a ten-year guarantee on their products, which cannot but bribe.

Hanging plumbing is not suitable for the home?

There is a belief that hanging plumbing is more suitable for public places than for a home bathroom. Most likely, this can be explained by the fact that it first appeared in public toilets, and over time gained wide popularity in shopping centers and hotels. The latter is the result of the fact that the installation technology is convenient and simple for the mass installation of equipment.

Nevertheless, this does not make the installation an attribute of only public bathrooms, because in operation it is convenient, looks aesthetically pleasing, and fits into almost any style. Suspended sanitary ware is especially convenient from a hygienic point of view. Firstly, the tank is hidden behind the wall and does not need to be washed. Secondly, and this. perhaps most importantly, there is no support, which usually collects hard-to-remove dirt. It would seem like little things, but very pleasant.

Summing up, we can say that suspended plumbing has a place to be in our Everyday life... But only in its punchy performance. If the question of savings arises, it is better to completely abandon this idea: the technology does not tolerate any falsehood, and high-quality equipment cannot be cheap. It will also be useful to understand what exactly this is for. non-standard solution... Convenience of cleaning is, of course, an important, but far from decisive factor. It is quite another matter if the desire to be in trend acts as a weighty argument.
