What is the fence in the country. What is the cheapest fence for a summer cottage? How to make a wooden fence

The cheapest fence for a summer residence is one that is made from materials left over from the time of construction, or is simply idle. In this case, their initial cost is no longer important, and labor costs will pay off in any case. For example, if there is an exit of rocks in the vicinity, and after the construction of the house there is cement and sand, then you can build the most expensive type of fence - from natural stone... Or the second option is a fence made of scraps of logs cut down on a section of trees

The fencing of the site can be built like this in an unusual way Source 990.md

But these are more special cases - usually materials have to be bought or ordered "turnkey fence".

Features of the country fence

There are certain restrictions on the height and nature of the fence between adjacent areas. The fence should not cast a solid shadow and be higher than 1.5 meters. Although in practice this is not always the case. But it is precisely these requirements that make this part of the fence inexpensive in terms of the cost of materials. Everyone can build a relatively affordable fence to the cottage, options for materials used for these purposes:

  • Rabitz;
  • a fence made of wood (picket fence);
  • welded sections from rolled metal.

For the part that protects country cottage area from the "street", the choice of materials is greater, including those listed above. But such a "transparent" fence has rather poor protective functions, especially from prying eyes, wind and dust. Therefore, such a fence to the country is used in combination with hedges - shrubs or climbing plants.

If you need a "deaf" and cheap fence along the front border of the site, then boards or corrugated board are chosen as materials. Thus, you can build a fence with your own hands cheaply and beautifully.

Wooden fences

The cheapest wood fence can be built. At the right choice and timely maintenance, wooden fences will last at least 10 years. Moreover, this statement mainly refers to the pillars, and if they are made from steel pipe with an anti-corrosion coating, then we can talk about at least twenty years of service. And, importantly, there is different types fences for giving from this material.

Usually fence, or fence board, is the simplest option a wooden fence made of edged sawn timber. But the protective functions of the picket fence are low, as well as its cost. A fence made of unedged boards only marks the border of the site, and its decorative qualities depend solely on the method of trimming the upper part of the battens and the color of the paint.

Although, if desired, a fence made of ordinary picket fence can also be made attractive Source rozetka.com.ua

but there are also "full-fledged" fences made of wooden picket fence, which are distinguished by a higher reliability and a degree of protection against penetration into the site. Moreover, such a fence can even be "deaf" if you use double padded fence boards- from the front and inside.

Rack fence also allows you to make and section decoration in the form of a decorative panel. And at first glance, a cheap fence will no longer look very cheap.

And they look very original "Wicker" fences from a wooden lath.

Edged board fence can be both deaf and "perforated". In the first case, the boards are stuffed end-to-end on the veins or from both sides (alternately from the front and the inside).

In the second case, the scheme for stuffing the board on the cross-beams of the spans is similar to a picket fence. To some extent, they are even similar, but this option is more "solid".

If horizontal direction wooden reiki for a picket fence - this is a rarity, but for an edged board such a solution is more common. Perhaps this is the cheapest fence for a summer residence, but it looks pretty cute.

And in a separate category you can put wood fence blinds... This type of fence resembles a wall faced with planken. The principle of the arrangement of the board (or slats) is the same - at an angle to the vertical plane with an overhang on the front side of the upper panel over the lower one.

This type of fence appeared recently, but is already popular. Source domvpavlino.ru

The blinds fence combines positive sides continuous and "perforated" spans:

  • the territory is protected from prying eyes;
  • the direct effect of wind, the penetration of dust and dirt from the street is reduced;
  • the site is ventilated, so excess moisture from the soil will evaporate more likely;
  • the shadow from the fence is not so "thick" and "undersized" plants can be planted nearby.

Another type of wooden horizontal fence is block house fencing... This type of cladding panel is thick enough to withstand severe mechanical stress. And the decorative properties of the panels fit perfectly into the rural landscape, especially if the house is built of rounded logs, faced with a block house or siding with a similar profile.

Block house, one of the most unusual finishing materials, looks great as a fence Source svoidomstroim.ru

Of course, this is not the cheapest fence - according to this characteristic, the block house does not lag behind most types of planed sawn timber fences.

Budget fences from scrap materials

First of all, here you need to understand that not all materials at hand can be "legal". An example can often be found as a cheap fence wattle fence or palisade made from twigs or poles felled in a planting or nearby forest. Nowadays, fences are often chosen from pallets that remain after construction. In a word, if you need an affordable fence for a summer cottage, there are many options.

Such a purely rural fencing can serve as a reason for administrative punishment Source jtcase.ru

But in this case, you can wait for the visit of the police, since the illegal felling of trees and bushes (even lianas) is punishable by both administrative and criminal codes. For individuals, the fine is small - 4-5 thousand rubles. But this is if they do not find signs of a criminal act. If they find it, the fine starts from 100 thousand rubles. Moreover, if such a fence is purchased, and its timber is obtained illegally, then the buyer will also face a fine.

And if the purchase of a ready-made wicker fence can be considered an affordable option, then picket fence does not fall into the category of the budget fence.

The most inexpensive material is the croaker. It belongs to the production waste of lumber, but this does not mean that any one is suitable for a hedge. It is divided into two classes: wood and business. And for the construction of the fence, it is necessary to choose only the second option, as it is thicker and more uniform in cross-section geometry. Moreover, the selection must be carried out both for the quality of the wood (no rot), and for the uniformity of sizes - it is advisable to select plates of approximately the same width and thickness. If there are suspicions of infection with a bark beetle, then the croaker must be sanded and treated with an appropriate solution so as not to infect the trees on the site.

Such a hedge will be the cheapest among all, and in a rural landscape it is quite appropriate.

The second cost of materials is considered not edged board ... It makes affordable but attractive wooden fences for summer cottages. And here there are nuances of choice - it is better to use a wide format.

For horizontal fences, the arrangement of the plates is more varied. For example, it can be "volumetric" installation of the board around the timber in the center of the span.

There is also such an inexpensive option for fence materials - pallets... More precisely, Euro pallets. For their production, a fairly high-quality edged board is used, from which enterprising people even make furniture. And not only a garden one, but also for living quarters with a loft or rustic interior.

The Euro pallet can be used as a source of "raw materials". That is, disassemble it into boards, and make a regular vertical fence out of them. Or build a horizontal fence, borrowing not only boards from the pallet, but also the very idea of a "two-row" volumetric structure.

There are options when pallet practically unchanged goes to the manufacture of spans low fences.

Such a fence is perfect for a palisade in front of the house.

Metal inexpensive fences

In this category, the cheapest fences for summer cottages are made from mesh netting... Their apparent unreliability is deceiving - it is impossible to climb over them, and in order to unauthorized entry into the site, you must use at least metal scissors. When choosing what to make a fence from, you should not discard this option.

This also includes fences with spans from welded construction mesh which is even stronger thanks to the thicker wire.

There are many manufacturers of turnkey sectional fences that use welded mesh as a basis. Moreover, in the most simple options it is not even attached to the corner frame. For fastening, special clamps are used, matched to the section shaped pipe, from which the fence posts are made.

And this is the most affordable option for a metal sectional fence Source seattlehelpers.org

And the next stage in the evolution of welded mesh as a material for fencing a site is gabions. V landscape design wire baskets filled with natural stone are usually used as retaining walls. They also found application for the construction of a fence with "blind" spans. Such a design is more accessible than a stone fence, especially since the gabion does not need a foundation, and if necessary, it can be disassembled and moved to another place.

Another inexpensive option is welded fences. from smooth reinforcement or a square bar.

Conclusion

The final cost of the fence is influenced not only by the materials of the span, but also by its nature. Solid fences are strongly influenced by wind loads, so the supports for them must be more reliable than for through spans. And the calculation of their number and size of the underground part has the same algorithm as that of a pile or monolithic foundation. Therefore, a cheap, but solid fence in the end can cost more than its competitor made of more expensive materials that are freely blown by the wind.

Even the most modest suburban area needs a reliable fence. In order to economize family budget and at the same time not to lose in quality, many craftsmen choose to build a fence with their own hands. Inexpensive materials are used that can serve the owner for several decades.

Metal and plastic fences at an affordable price with a photo

Country fences made of the "Chain-link" mesh can be called cheap. They do a good job with their responsibility to protect the site from intruders. Connect your imagination and skill, and you will get an original fence for a penny. We provide you with photos of ready-made options to give you an idea.

Fence from plastic bottles

One of the most affordable materials for building a fence in the country is plastic bottles. You can use both the containers themselves, fixing them with a solution, and multi-colored lids, stringing them on a wire. Such a picturesque hedge will become the highlight of your summer residence, without requiring any waste. Before combining with a solution, plastic bottles must be filled with sand to the very neck.

You can also create a practical garden bed fence using plastic bottles. The bottles are connected with a thick wire in two places: near the neck and near the bottom. This self-made fence is located with the necks down between the pins installed in the corners. Thus, a high bed in the garden is obtained.

In the photo, a fence for a garden from plastic bottles

A small fence for a garden or flower bed can also be made in another way. Dig a trench around the perimeter and bury the bottles in a row with their necks down. The container must be filled to the brim with sand in advance. If you use bottles of different colors or just repaint them, you get a fun fence that improves the mood of owners and passers-by.

Fence from plastic lids with neat and premeditated work, it turns out to be very beautiful. However, it takes a lot of time and effort to build it. First, several thousand caps must be collected. Secondly, in each of them you need to make several holes. Thirdly, all the covers should be neatly connected together with a wire, adhering to a certain pattern. Everything needs to be done very carefully, and then the fence for giving from plastic covers will turn out to be as attractive as in the photo below.

The photo shows a fence for a summer residence made of plastic covers

Plastic bottles - available material for building a summer cottage fence with your own hands. It is easy to work with them, they are not afraid of moisture, they are resistant to the development of fungus. Plastic does not ignite, but only melts under the influence of very high temperatures.

The disadvantage of the material is its reaction to temperature changes. In hot weather, plastic bottles deform and shrink. In severe frosts, the bottle may crack. Fences made of plastic are not recognized by admirers of the organic method of cultivating the land. Poor quality plastics give off toxic substances, especially when exposed to high temperatures.

Glass bottle fence

Glass container fencing is highly aesthetically pleasing and will serve its owners for many years. Let's consider several ways to create such a fence.

Method 1

Place the bottles across the wall of the fence with the necks in the yard and connect with mortar. This will give you a thick and sturdy fence. This option looks pretty nice. Pay attention to the photo example.

Method 2

Place the bottles across the wall, as in the previous version, only alternating the bottom and the neck with outside... Thus, you can get a certain pattern on the fence. To do this, you need to think over the location of the glass container in advance.

Method 3

By stringing glass bottles onto a metal rod, you can get a highly decorative fencing for a summer cottage. To do this, drill a hole in the bottom of each bottle. Having picked up containers of different colors and shapes, you can create a funny fence for a summer residence with your own hands. The photo shows how unusual this option looks.

Tire fencing

Not a new, but quite popular idea - using old tires to create a summer cottage fence. They can be spread out around the perimeter of the cottage in a checkerboard pattern or placed vertically and bury the lower half. In the first option, brightly blooming flower beds are often arranged inside each tire. A fence created using the second method will become more attractive if you change its color to a brighter one with the help of paint.

Fence from pallets

This option involves the use of imagination. The first thing to do is to install and concrete the posts around the perimeter. Next, you need to attach pallets to them in the required order. Another option is to disassemble the pallets into separate boards and make a picket fence or another version of the fence.

A fence made of branches and vines

It takes a lot of time to create a wicker fence for a summer residence. But a lot of people are ready to sacrifice it for the sake of obtaining an original and cheap fence. You will need dry branches or stems of vines. An interesting fence design will be a great addition to a country-style summer cottage. The support for such a fence can be made from beams or reinforcement rods.

A high-quality fence for a summer residence does not always require large financial costs. As you can see from the photos, if you purchase inexpensive materials and do the installation yourself, you can get a decent fencing at no extra cost. With the use of scrap materials, the fence is practically free. Do not forget about the aesthetic edge of the issue, because the fences in the country (the photographs demonstrate this) will stand for more than one year, and it’s good if it will please the eye all the time.

What are weaving plants for dacha and garden decor

Arrangement of a summer cottage necessarily involves the installation of a fence. It performs an important function of protecting the local area from the penetration of unwanted guests, animals and prying eyes. Also, the fence clearly marks your entire territory. Today fences take on a variety of types.

Country fences can be made of a variety of materials that have their own distinctive features... In this article, we will divide all existing structures according to the classifications of their structures and the materials used. We will present to your attention the main types of fences for summer cottages. After that, it will be much easier for you to make your choice.

Classification of fences by design

There are 3 types of design classifications:

  1. Open.
  2. Deaf.
  3. Combined.

An open fence in the country is used very often. He has many positive sides... For example, its construction will be quite cheap. In addition to saving on building materials, the pace of its construction is greatly accelerating. In literally a short period of time, you will have a new open fence at your dacha. Open does not give much shade. This allows you to plant various plants especially those that need sunlight.

As for blind structures in the country, such structures are mainly built with the aim of protecting their territory from prying eyes. Plus, less dust penetrates through the solid fence in the country. There are plants that are unpretentious and can be planted along a blank fence, even if there is a lot of shade there. Some summer residents even plant fruit trees.

The last type of construction is combined. These can be both the simplest structures and complex ones. There are no special rules here. For example, a part can be deaf, and some elements are open. In this case, you can use a variety of building materials and technologies. It all depends on your vision of the whole situation. This article provides many options for fences for a summer residence in the photo. This will help you make your choice.

Advice! When choosing a fence design for a summer residence, consider who your neighbors are, the landscape, financial capabilities and personal preferences.

Material classification

Now we come to a more voluminous section that requires serious research. The modern market offers a wide variety of building materials that allow you to build a simple fence in the shortest possible time. We suggest you consider the following categories:

  • Wood.
  • Metal.
  • Polycarbonate.
  • Concrete goods / brick.

Wood

If we talk about the availability of the material, then wood is the best option. The wood fences built in the country house are distinguished by their durability and beauty. However, such a structure requires special and regular maintenance, for example, from time to time to paint and replace rotted elements of the fence. Plus, it is recommended to treat wood with fire retardants and other antiseptics to protect it from negative impact environment... As for the other disadvantages, it is the likelihood that, under the influence of atmospheric phenomena, the wood can crack, change color, and so on.

Today there are many varieties of what fences can be built from wood in the country. For example, a log house is often used. Beautifully laid horizontal beams will give your dacha a beautiful and unique look. Some set the bars vertically. This is a more time-consuming process, but the result is worth it.

Among other things, a picket fence is used. This is a classic version of the construction of a wooden fence for a summer residence. In this case, the structure can be open or deaf. Using a picket fence allows you to grow different flowers near the fence. Light can penetrate through the picket fence, which will have a beneficial effect on the development of plants. So if you want beautiful fence then the tree is not a bad solution. However, remember that before installing it, it is necessary to make high-quality preparation and processing.

Metal

Today you can find many original metal fences for summer cottages. This includes forged fences, from a chain-link mesh, corrugated board, fittings, etc. Let's consider some of the features of these materials.

Decking is often used for the construction of a deaf structure. Its main distinguishing features are durability and reliability. On the market, corrugated board is presented in different color solutions.

Attention! Installation of a fence made of corrugated board in the country is a troublesome business. It is important to be careful not to deform the corrugated board during installation.

For such a fence, it is necessary to erect columnar foundation with metal supports. When working, it is necessary to use a welding machine to weld the crossbars, on which the sheets of corrugated board will be attached directly.

You can also do metal fence from a picket fence. This is a good alternative to the corrugated board structure. In appearance, such a fence looks much more beautiful. You can also do it yourself. It is necessary to establish as a basis metal poles supports and weld the cross members. The frame design is the same as that of the corrugated board fence.

Advice! For a more attractive look, the pillars of the support can be laid out of natural stone, and the spans can be filled with a metal picket fence.

Mesh fence also falls into this category. The metal mesh-chain-link will last more than one year. This is a kind of open structure. To install it, you need to install the support pillars. They can be metal and wood. On the market, the netting is sold in different colors. Although we are talking about metal mesh, also a similar material is made of plastic.

Concrete goods or brick

If you want to build a capital fence, then, by the way, reinforced concrete structures or bricks are suitable. These materials are durable. Their construction requires a lot of financial investments and labor costs. But the end result will allow you to use it for many years and even more than one generation. There are many construction technologies. You can see the fences for the summer cottage in the photo below.

Polycarbonate

This type of fence looks pretty original. Polycarbonate is available in different colors, which allows you to build a beautiful fence for a summer cottage. It should be noted that this material is quite fragile. Therefore, there is always a risk of damage. Plus, polycarbonate can be combined with other materials. For example, build the pillars of the support from bricks, and fill the spans with polycarbonate.

Fences from scrap materials

This type of fence can be built from the very different material, which is in your country house. We invite you to consider several options. For example, a hedge can be wicker. For this purpose, willow rods are collected and a fence is woven from them for a summer residence. It is very cheap and does not take a long time to build.

There is an idea to use plastic or glass bottles of different colors. Also, some craftsmen build fences in the country from old car tires. They can be staggered. Beds with fresh flowers are often planted near such fences. In a word, there are many options for making fences for summer cottages from scrap materials. The main condition is to connect your imagination and creativity. You can use the remains of building materials, combine them with each other. The end result is a beautiful combination.

Conclusion

So, we have considered with you the most different variants fences that can be built in the country with your own hands. Certainly, some of them require large financial investments and labor costs. Some fences can be made quickly and relatively cheaply. The choice is only yours. On the Internet, you can also find a lot of ideas from scrap materials. This article has some photos on this topic.

It is worth protecting your territory, if not from the encroachments of intruders, then at least from the scattering of your own living creatures around the village. And to minimize costs, you can build a fence with your own hands.

The cheapness of the materials at hand is very conditional. For example, the owner of a tire service does not know what to do with the tires, and his own sawmill is a regular supplier of sawdust and sawn timber. But for an ordinary resident, the search and collection a large number such waste will become a problem. If difficulties are not scary, and the neighbors will happily throw off a couple of hundred bottles, their fence will be practically free of charge.

Firewood

A few cubic meters of firewood is not only heating for the whole winter, but also an excellent material for a fence! Almost any tree is suitable, except for birch, which rot in a couple of years. For example, oak becomes stronger from exposure to moisture, and conifers practically do not rot.

To build a wall of chumps special skills not necessary:

The only drawback of such buildings is fragility, since the tree is still exposed to moisture and begins to rot over time.

Bottle

Plastic and glass bottles- a great way not only to save money on building a fence, but also to dispose of household waste. The device of such a barrier is extremely simple:

In addition, when heated, plastic can evaporate harmful substances, so it is not advisable to expose it to direct sunlight. But due to the materials used, the glass container fence will stand for more than a dozen years, having time to bore several generations of residents.

Tires

Tires are used everywhere - as flower beds, playgrounds and even foundations. So why not make them a fence too? For this, practically nothing is required:

The only drawback of the tire fence is that when heated it will smell rather unpleasant as rubber. Therefore, it is recommended to locate it far from living quarters and recreation areas.

Reliable and simple fences

Of course, conventional fences are much easier to implement. After all, carrying tires is a difficult task, the hand will get tired very quickly. But stretching the mesh between the posts or putting together a wooden fence - what could be easier?

From the grid

The most common type of fence is a chain-link mesh. She fenced gardens, large areas and even yards. If appearance does not cause aesthetic delight, you can use a more modern option - a welded mesh. Its installation is also simple, but it allows you to make the fence more neat.

To build a mesh fence you will need:

You can cope with the work alone, but it is better to get an assistant:

  1. The territory for the future fence is marked. For this, reinforcement is driven in the corners, between which the cord is stretched.
  2. The lower part of the pillars (150-160 cm) is coated with two layers of enamel against rust.
  3. First, the corner posts are installed. A well is drilled with a depth of about 1 m and a pipe is immediately hammered into it with a sledgehammer for another 30 cm. After that, the post is immediately covered with sand with rubble, spilled with water and carefully rammed.
  4. The pitch of the posts is up to 3 m.
  5. Since the mesh fence is light and does not have a high windage, it is better not to concrete the pillars buried above the freezing level of the soil. Otherwise, the concrete will be “squeezed out” together with the post and the fence will start to sway after the first winter.
  6. If you need to make reliable supports, wells are drilled with a depth of 1.5 m, a sand and gravel cushion is poured onto the bottom, formwork is made of roofing material, the pipe is clogged and poured with concrete.
  7. After all the pillars are installed, the deformed tops are cut off and the mesh is stretched. It can be attached to the posts using welded hooks, wire, or a mounting tie.
  8. If the mesh is installed with reinforcement broaching, then after it is fixed on the pillars, a steel rod is threaded through the cells, which is welded to the pipes. This will increase the strength of the fence and prevent the mesh from sagging.
  9. Pillars and corners are treated with rustproof enamel and painted. To simplify the work, it is better to use a paint sprayer - the brush will take longer and less economical.

And to make the fence look interesting and unusual, you can decorate it with wire weaving. It's so nice to go out into the courtyard, fenced off by a real work of art!

From corrugated board

Decking is a durable and relatively inexpensive material. You can choose a colored coating of almost any color, and even a novice builder can handle the installation:

  1. For the corrugated board, you will need buried below the freezing of the soil and concreted pillars. On heaving soil, to prevent subsidence of the pillars, it is better to expand the supports like the TISE foundation.
  2. As with the construction of a mesh fence, the pipes must be treated with a rustproof primer before burying the pillars.
  3. When the foundation is completely frozen, transverse logs are welded to the posts - profiled pipes 4x2 cm.They should be located 4 cm from the upper and lower edges of the corrugated sheet. For fences up to 170 cm in height, two crossbars are enough, but if the fence is higher, you need to do the third in the middle.
  4. All metal parts are treated with a primer - after installing the corrugated board, this is problematic.
  5. Profiled sheets are attached to the logs with self-tapping screws for metal with an overlap in the wave.

If you cover the racks with bricks, the fence will look more presentable. For this, 4 bricks are used, laid in a circle at a distance. Each row of bricks is checked by level in two planes so that the pillars do not turn out to be oblique. A sand-cement mixture is poured inside around the pipe.

In this case, metal racks are lined with bricks along with welded lags. It's much safer than trying to fix the league on facing brick after the completion of the masonry.
You can refine the fence from the inside with tall living plants. In the meantime, the thuja are growing, you can pull on the photo grid.

Its service life is 3-4 years, after which it will begin to fade. But during this time, the planted bushes and trees will have time to rise.

Made of wood

Wooden fences are traditional for the countryside. After all, you can find construction material at an extremely attractive cost, but if you look well at the sawmills - illiquid stock with self-pickup will cost almost nothing.

To build a wooden fence you will need:

  • hand-held circular saw;
  • screwdriver and screws or hammer and nails;
  • grinder or grinding wheel and grinder;
  • spray gun;
  • a gas drill or shovel.

Installation of a wooden fence attracts with its simplicity:

For such a fence, the selection of boards is important - they must be free of flaws and cracks. A planed board looks much neater, but any 2 cm thick is suitable.

The only drawback of the tree is its short service life. On the other hand, repairing individual sections of such a fence is much easier!

Original fences

It is better for a novice builder to try his hand at simple objects. But for those who have already eaten a dog on the construction of fences, there are several non-standard options that will surprise your neighbors and please your loved ones!

Stone

Masonry, despite its external simplicity, is much more complex than brick. Dry stone masonry will be a real challenge for bricklayers. To do this, two trapezoids are installed along the edges of the future wall, between which a string is stretched - this will be a reference point during masonry.

The trapezoidal shape of the fence is needed so that the stones do not begin to crumble, because they are held only by their own weight. The main difficulty in such construction is to choose the right stones so that the rows do not deviate from the horizontal.

Gabion fences are becoming more and more popular. For their device, you will need a ready-made structure installed on compacted soil with concreted supports - the weight of the fence is decent. And so that in the process of filling the cage with stones, the structure does not burst, after each row the mesh is fastened with special hooks.

Alive

And if you are not afraid of the fact that it will take more than one year to grow a meter-long boxwood hedge, you can start implementing this idea.

First of all, you need to decide on the height of the desired hedge:

  • high - thuja, maple, juniper, irga are suitable;
  • medium - rowan, euonymus, barberry are used;
  • low - you can plant boxwood, cinquefoil, yew.

For tall hedges, deciduous ones are often chosen fast growing shrubs... After all, you want to protect yourself from prying eyes as quickly as possible, and not in a dozen years. But in the future, you will very often have to cut such a wall, otherwise you can end up hidden behind a five-meter fence. Plus deciduous hedges - leaves that have flown around in autumn allow you to get maximum light from the scant winter sun.

You should not believe the photos, which show one and a half meter boxwood hedges - it took more than two decades to form them. You can purchase already grown bushes, but the cost of such a fence will turn out to be far from democratic.

Wicker

The wattle fence is a traditional fence, undeservedly forgotten today. Constructions made of artificial rattan costing a lot of money.

But after all, it is very easy to build it with your own hands:

A house fenced off with such a fence will become a cozy family nest.

Wrought iron

Wrought iron fences attract attention with their delicacy and airiness. This is a great option for a small area, allowing you to visually expand the space.

Of course, you can't do without a good farrier. But it's very easy to install ready-made spans:

  • the foundation is poured with pillars, the distance between which is equal to the finished spans;
  • when the concrete is frozen, forged elements are welded to the posts;
  • hinges for wickets and gates are welded;
  • the fence is primed and painted.

A very simple and inexpensive option for a fence device for fencing a site is shown in detail and accessible in the video:

It is very important that at the dacha the eye is pleased not only with the landings, but also with the surrounding environment. About, and we have already told, it's time to talk about how to make fences for a summer residence with your own hands. Without them, the arrangement of the dacha territory is not complete and therefore it is better to attend to the creation of a strong and good fence. Better yet, it fits into the big picture of what you create on your site.

Do-it-yourself fences for a summer residence

Do not be confused by either the length of the fence or its height. Let's start with the fact that the fence is easy to make with your own hands and quite budget, because if you have the desire and basic knowledge of the "fence theory", then you can safely proceed to the next stage - the choice of materials.

A summer cottage fence can be made from:

  • wood;
  • picket fence;
  • metal profile;
  • mesh;
  • yes everything, anything!

You just have to choose what will be more to your liking and will fit into the overall design.

Wooden fence for summer cottages

The tree is one of best materials... It looks noble, it withstands bad weather perfectly, it can be purchased without problems and with all this, it is environmentally friendly.

It is not necessary to purchase an already prepared board. It is enough to get hold of supplies and leftovers that have accumulated in the backyard and are still suitable for use - for example, ranch fences allow the use of uncut and uneven boards. You only need to dig in the wooden posts along the intended trajectory and nail the boards to them in a horizontal position.

This is a fairly simple and cheap fence for a summer residence, and if you take into account its environmental friendliness, then it is worth giving preference to just such fences.

In addition, depending on the length of the board, you yourself choose its direction, so that you can build both a ranch fence and a simple vertical or horizontal fence, which has long proven itself.

To install a wooden fence with your own hands you will need:

  • timber;
  • boards;
  • nails;
  • hammer;
  • shovel;
  • sand.

If desired, cement and bitumen can be added to this list if you want the timber to be installed as stable as possible.

The principle of installing a wooden fence is very simple. You dig holes for the installation of the support bar and fill them with cement or densely fill them with sand, tamping it down. This way the supports will not deform under the load of the boards and become more stable.

Next, you just have to nail the boards to the posts. If you want to fasten the boards vertically, then between the supports you will have to stretch and nail two planks, on which the boards will then be attached. If you still want to see a ranch fence on your territory, then it is enough to immediately fix the boards from post to post. More on video Ivana Galkin:

Do not forget only that the tree has its own shelf life and does not like moisture. Therefore, be sure to paint the fence after construction and periodically inspect it for damage in order to repair or replace the board in time.

Picket fence

Picket fences are the most popular of the types of wooden fences. And no wonder, because the picket fence is so easy to install, economical to purchase and beautiful in its finished form.

Before proceeding with the construction, it is necessary to mark the territory where the building will be located, to determine its height and the frequency of installation of the picket fence. Although we install a fence for protection, but if the territory is tightly closed, then you can deprive the plants of light, which will lead to crop failure.

The set of materials for building a picket fence is similar to what we have given above:

  • beam for supports;
  • horizontal screed board;
  • cement;
  • sand;
  • nails or screws.

The tools can be different - from a shovel with a hammer to a screwdriver and an electric drill. Only the speed of construction will depend on this, but not the quality of the fence.

First you need to install the pillars, which will become the basis of the fence. Therefore, dig holes for the timber at an equal distance from each other, but no further than the length of the board, which will serve as a screed for us. After that, install the supports and fill them with cement mortar.

While the solution hardens (and this will take at least 3 days), you can proceed to the installation of the sections. To do this, we cut the board to a length sufficient to attach its ends to the support. We place the sections on supports using nails or self-tapping screws and then attach the picket fence to them at an equal distance.

As you can see, the process of building a fence is quite simple and does not require any special building skills - just patience to wait for the mortar to harden. Then you can create a fence to your liking.

Well, in order to understand the intricacies of working with a picket fence and its installation, we recommend watching a video master class Andrey Krylov:

Metal profile fence

And yet, despite the beauty and cheapness of the picket fence and wood in general, it has one drawback - such a fence is short-lived and its maximum service life is only 15 years. Therefore, many, wishing to save money, are looking for a more durable, affordable and strong material - a metal profile.

Due to its durability and availability, corrugated board has long been widely used by summer residents. It is used for garden beds, roof coverings and, of course, for fences.

The metal profile does not have the most aesthetic appearance, therefore, most designers categorically bypass the professional sheet when creating beautiful and original fences. But its availability and ease of use plays into the hands of summer residents, allowing them to make a good fence for a summer residence with their own hands.

The construction of such a fence is not much different from others. You will need all the same support posts and boards for the horizontal screed, on which the profile itself will be attached.

And since the metal profile is still not the most popular material for creating a fence, it is worthwhile to dwell a little on basic requirements for its installation:

  1. The distance between the supports should not exceed 2.5 meters. And it is better to stop at a more frequent, half-meter installation. This is due to the fact that the profiled sheet is flexible enough and will deform under the pressure of the wind, losing its beauty and, most importantly, strength. Therefore, the shorter the sections are, the better the fence will be.
  2. Supports must be immersed in the ground at least 1.5 meters. Despite the flexibility of the metal profile, the sheet itself is quite heavy and requires stable support. That is why it is recommended to cement all supports at the base.
  3. It is best to use not a timber as a pillar, but a pipe with a diameter of 6-8 cm and a wall thickness of at least 2 mm, such supports will definitely become a good basis for a stable and strong fence.
  4. It is recommended to use 3 horizontal lags when mounting the profile - from above, from below and in the middle. So the fence will be more resistant to deformation and it is better to keep its shape under any pressure.

And so that you are convinced of the simplicity of building such a fence, we suggest you watch the video master class of the channel Do it yourself 36, where they share with us all the tricks of working with a metal profile:

Fence for giving from a grid

Yet one of the most budget options a fence made of mesh is considered. Like any metal product, the mesh carries most natural phenomena... And even rust can be prevented by timely treatment. Therefore, the fences come out of it rather durable.

There are several types of fence mesh:

  1. Chain-link sold in rolls, treated with polymers to prevent corrosion and can be easily installed between posts without unnecessary partitions,
  2. Corrugated formed from a wire with a cross section of 6-7 mm and bent by a wave. It has a strong weave. And due to it it keeps its shape well.
  3. Welded, has a smaller wire cross-section than in the case of corrugated, but due to welding it is stronger. True, using it for a fence will be more expensive than in the case of a chain-link.

A fence made of any mesh can be made in two different ways:

  1. Stretch the canvas around the perimeter and attach to the support posts.
  2. Pull the mesh over the frame, and then assemble the fence from the resulting sections.

Allows you to keep track of pets

Both methods have their own characteristics, so it is impossible to single out one of them as more advantageous or simpler.

So, for example, by simply stretching the mesh from post to post, you will reduce the preparation time for materials. After all, you only need to drive in a support, determine the height of the future fence and stretch the mesh, attaching it to the posts with a wire.

This method is simple and practical if you are short on time and want to make a temporary fence.

And yet it should be borne in mind that for a chain-link mesh, the posts will have to be installed at intervals of 1.5-2 meters, and this will increase the budget for the material. Whereas for a corrugated mesh, a distance of 3-4 meters is sufficient.

But if there are height differences on your site, then this is the only solution if you have chosen the mesh as the material. The sections are already prepared frames from metal profile, which brings us to the limitation - if you install them in descending order, there will be an open space under the fence, which does not give either security or aesthetic beauty to the site.

The installation of the sections is easier than stretching the mesh fabric. Ready-made frames are simply attached to pre-installed posts, equipped with the necessary anchors, or even welded to them.

As you can see, the choice of the grid and the method completely depends on your desire to improve the area, the time you have and, of course, the budget allocated for this.

To figure out which material is right for you, you can familiarize yourself with a detailed master class on the selection of materials and installation in a fence.

If you want more clarity and understanding of how to do everything correctly, with the explanations of a seasoned master, then you should watch a video lesson from the channel RemontHelp.com:

The grid itself consists of cells, that is, your site will be clearly visible from the street side. Therefore, it is usually recommended to use this material only between areas, so as not to block the plant from light.

Original ideas for a fence in the country from scrap materials

Every practical summer resident will consider it his duty to save as much as possible and use everything that remains from other projects. Therefore, before taking on the construction of a fence with our own hands, we suggest thinking about whether it is worth hurrying to the store for a net or a picket fence? Maybe get along with the materials at hand?

Then let's see what we have accumulated over the entire time of owning a dacha? And is it possible to make decent fences out of this rubbish?

The answer is yes, you can.

AND car tires, and, and the covers from them can become a fence or decoration. Moreover, it will be no worse and no more boring than assembled from high-quality materials.

Tire fence

Let's start with tires, for example. A lot of this good always accumulates, so over time the question arises, where to put them. Recycling costs money, and a fence is also beneficial. The choice is obvious.

Somewhat eclectic

It remains only to fill up the territory well and begin to install the tires on top of each other in a checkerboard pattern, as if laying out bricks, or fix them on the previously installed chain-link fence.

By the way, if you build a fence from tires according to the principle of a pyramid, then the land in the protruding parts can be used for flower beds, thus creating a whole green wall.

Fence from plastic bottles

Plastic can be considered the ideal material for a fence. After all, it decomposes in at least 60 years, which means that the fence made of it will not suffer from rain or sun. Although bottle plastic is still soft, and its shape at first glance is not suitable for building a fence, many began to give it a chance and use it for other purposes.

To enclose the entire summer cottage with such a "plastic fence", you will need to accumulate a lot of bottles to create a full-fledged fence.

The small weight of the material makes it easily deformable from physical damage. In addition, if you have accumulated mainly transparent bottles, then such a fence will not provide protection from prying eyes. But the cost of the finished hedge will be small.

If you combine bottles different color, then you can collect whole mosaics. Therefore, creative individuals agree to endure flaws for the sake of an original fence that attracts the attention of passers-by.

To create a full-fledged fence from plastic bottles, it is recommended to take the same size of material. And it can already be assembled into a wall, stringing it on a wire, like a curtain, or putting it on top of each other, filling the voids with cement mortar. The outcome will depend entirely on your desire to strengthen the fence or make it more airy.

By the way, bottle caps will also be used. After all, you can make a movable fence of them, and even with any pattern.

This will require many 4-hole drilled covers and meters of wire. Based on the colors that you have, choose a pattern, or better a pattern for embroidery with beads, and then just string the covers in order, as in embroidery, in rows. Then pass the wire through the vertical holes, thus connecting the rows.

If you are simply bored with the old fence, and you still want to put the lids into operation, then just screw them on with self-tapping screws, creating a bright picture-panel on the fence. And now you already have interesting wall on the site, attracting the attention of kids and pleasing your eyes.

Do-it-yourself wattle fence in the country: a master class for lovers of rural romance

And if you have ever seen a Ukrainian farm or met huts in the south of Russia, then your heart could not remain indifferent to this peaceful romance. And not even these cute ones sink into the soul, as if toy houses, with a thatched roof and whitewashed walls, and a wicker fence with earthen bottom hanging from it.

And yet, in addition to the decorative component, the wattle fence is an excellent solution even for a modern summer cottage. Such a fence will not yield to either wood or metal in terms of strength. And in terms of beauty and attractiveness, it will come first among them.

And from the point of view of economy, it fits well into our criteria. After all, weaving such a fence will allow you to realize your creative part, and it will also save your budget.

The flowers are clearly visible

But first, it's worth preparing the material:

  • timber or logs as a support and basis for weaving;
  • material for weaving (preference is given to willow twigs, although twigs of other trees are also suitable, the main condition is their plasticity);
  • gloves;
  • shovel;
  • sand.

If you are going to weave on pillars already driven in, then first dig them in and cover them with sand, tamp them. After that, you can proceed to the rods themselves. It is necessary to steam the rods so that they become more plastic and do not break when deformed.

You can weave in different ways:

  • horizontally skipping twigs with a figure eight between the pillars. This method borrowed from weavers;
  • vertically, between horizontally located lags. Such weaving comes out more decorative than practical. That is why it is used for fences between adjacent sites, but not external;
  • diagonally, forming the original wood mesh. This type of weaving is the most laborious, since the rods must be long so that the fence comes out at least of medium height. In addition, each rod is recommended to be dug into the ground for greater stability.

To understand the intricacies of simple weaving and try to make your first wattle fence, we recommend that you look at the video tutorial Oleg Bryukhanov where he shares the secrets of creating a simple yet beautiful fence.

If you prefer a fence made of sections, then a master class will come in handy. Yura Kulakevich where he shows you how to create a vine based wattle fence.

As you can see, the fence is not just a protective structure that hides the summer cottage from prying eyes, lovers of someone else's harvest and stray dogs. A hand-made fence is also a decoration of the territory, allowing you to enjoy every day spent in nature, among the plants we have planted with great love.
